Previous thread: >>50177971This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels. What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished?
For the past 2~ months I've been learning Japanese. Will install and read Yosuga no Sora in jp tomorrow. Finally my shameful MTLcuck days are coming to an end.
>>50202819lol
>>50202819Always thought the anime would be better (the designs, the atmosphere, and all that), so I never played it.
still undecided whether to read D or just skip to kiminozo
>>50202885was kimiita good, should i skip any routes
>>50202904i'm still finishing the last one, but this game doesn't have "routes", it's more like 4 asset flips in 1 with different writerseach "route" has some cool stuff but it's hard to say whether they are worth reading at all or not. i think yayoi's one was the one that delivered the "gf vs dream" theme better, michiru is michiru, marika has the best cg and event, while akira's one is the comfiest one so far.but reading all 4 is a lil bit of a slog, ngl
>>50202935oh, i also noticed that in one of the events there's a voiced character whose surname is 御剣
>>50202819Congrats on making the jump, Anon. The first couple of months are probably going to be very rough, but if you're anything like me you'll be so incredibly grateful you pushed through them a few years down the line when reading Japanese is so easy you don't have to think about it at all.
>>50202819Cute newfagBe strong, the first 6 months are the hardests
>>50203048>御剣御剣 愛 (mitsurugi mana). she's just a ヘアヌード model here. not sure if she's mentioned anywhere else
last one. guess i'll read some other slop instead of continuing agege for now
Bros... they revived. Nice!https://x.com/FuriKuru_Gamehttps://furikuru.com/eve-bethel/
>>50204493Woah, a release date. Hope it's good.
>>50204493These guys show up out of nowhere and this game looks too good to be true. What's the catch here? Are they using AI or something? Where'd they get the funding?
Are there any torrent sites for ero games that are still active?I was going to buy some old stuff on famza or dlsite but they're no longer listed on either site.
>>50205692>but they're no longer listed on either siteMake sure you're using a JP vpn.
A long shot but is there any way to get the 進撃の巨人 VNs in Japanese? Apparently they were distributed on bonus blu-ray discs, have those been ripped anywhere?
>>50205714Not an issue because I live in Japan.
>>50205780Nyaruhodo. You probably want to use a vpn to torrent them anyway then.https://sukebei.nyaa..si should have most stuff. You can always ask in the thread like the anon above you too.
what other games besides utawarerumono would be good to play if you enjoy VNs with gameplay?I've already gone through rance i and iii remakes, rance ii, rance 5D as well I think, rance vi, finished a single route on sengoku rance, did rance quest, didn't finish rance ix, and didn't finish rance xis there ANY other series that does the rpg and story, or turn-based mechanics like these two series?
>>50206195noctuary
>>50206195Labyrinth of Refrain and Labyrinth of Galeria
>>50206195Neptunia series which made vndb mods so mad they removed the games from there
Is mitsuki more setsuna-like or kazusa-like? I think she's in the "darker" side and have a mutual dependency with protag, also her route's true end, so, kazusa-like
>>50206217So not a VN
>>50206249Sure thing buddy
>>50206248She's closer to Kazusa than to Setsuna, but a better comparison is Mion from Higurashi. Take Mion, add a little bit of Kazusa, that's probably Mitsuki. Also I feel like Haruka may have influenced Setsuna's creation.
>>50206195Alice Soft has lots of other RPG series besides just Rance.
>>50206261I also feel like setsuna is "haruka IF not oblivious about mitsuki and takayuki's chemistry, but still confessed her love anyway" and her true end is also where everyone blessed them..
>>50206291I've also gone through drapeko I think, evenicle (can't remember if I did 2), and a little dohna dohnawanted to do toushin toshi but the game had issues running a couple years backshould probably go through evenicle 2 at some point then
>>50206195Eushully and Ninetail's games, maybe black souls and demon roots too. Try searching dlsite's doujin games for something that fit your taste.
>>50206375I've gone through black souls and I think part of ii, as well as demon roots (until the later half, lady killer was in the party)
>>50206195Dungeon Travelers, Dungeon crawling RPG series with a lot of character skits and fanservice sprites/CGsAr Tonelico, turn based RPG with relationship values/stories and extensive lore
Do you think Eushully will move to all age market now that they are releasing game on steam?
>>50206562I think they are struggling just to survive. Abandon their old audience for a new uncertain one doesn't seem like a wise move. All ages doesn't fit their style anyway, it wouldn't feel like an Eushully game without some (angel) rape.
can somebody explain this joke? it appeared multiple time in the kouki's route, the joke is about aliens/(((they))), and he always adds this (たぶんグレイ). like that aliens are probably gray color?
>>50206638>like that aliens are probably gray color?I've only seen aliens called grays in english but it's probably the same thing here
>>50206638Probably a MIB reference, it's weirdly popular (or at least it was in the early 2000s) in Japan.
>>50206638https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_alien
>>50206686>>50206718ok, makes sense, just not funny. i also found this but i can't see it without a vpn
actual kimiita extra spoiler, wtf
Subarashi
>>50206636Hyakusen has a 15+ version they are going to slowly shift towards that side

Finished 君と彼女と彼女の恋 recently... I got lost in one of the scenes, where it becomes apparent that she is “charged” through CGs, implying that her invitation for us to do her was primarily to obtain a CG. This detail reveals an inconsistency in the game’s internal logic. When she returns alone at night, she appears to be doing nothing, since she cannot be charged by someone else if the protagonist already fulfilled that role; otherwise, the game would generate another CG. From a narrative standpoint, this suggests that only the main character can trigger CGs, as he functions as the center of the game’s perspective. Therefore, if she engages in any actions outside his viewpoint, they should not result in CGs, because such scenes are not recognized by the narrative framework of the game world. This raises an interesting issue: if Aoi is not a main character, but a heroine connected to the protagonist, she should not be able to act independently in a way that produces visual or narrative outcomes. The fact that she seemingly does so indicates a break in the story’s internal consistency. In other words, the scene contradicts the logic typically maintained in visual novels, where only the protagonist’s interactions can generate CGs, and anything occurring beyond his perspective remains outside the visual record of the game’s world. Is my logic her faulty? INB4 "you should've posted this in /vn/" even if I tried, they are not capable of comprehending my point...
>>50210856 (Me)here**
>>50210779Thats not bad, at least that is better than anala, but the fact i dont remember that scene means they did something wrong
Originally I intended to play Ena route first and then drop for a while, but all the heroines are starting to grow on me. At this point I'd be ok with getting any of the routes.
>>50202885I genuinely think D ~その景色の向こう側~ was really good with a pretty unique scenario and atmosphere but I imagine the appeal is probably limited.
>>50211743have you also read rasen kairo 1/2 perchance?
>>50211756Yeah. Rasen Kairou 1 is mainly just shock value but I guess it's notable in a way for being a pretty early example of a 陵辱 type of game. I don't think there were too many examples of it back in those days and there's one scene in particular which I believe caused quite a stir on the internet back then. Not really anything too special though. Rasen Kairou 2 I actually surprisingly liked a bit more. It's still 陵辱 but the scenario is quite a bit more fleshed out imo and actually had some good surprises and twists in the story. 2 doesn't really depend on 1. There's no shared characters and I don't even think there were any references. It's just the same website is featured in both.
>>50211812ok thanks. i might read 1 before age maniax but i guess i won't bother with 2 for a while
Where can I find Kakyuusei Windows 10 compatible version? My computer isn't running the installer I got from touchgal out of compatibility reasons, and the portable version I downloaded from somewhere I don't remember isn't recognizing my save file.
>>50212182it should be on animesharing
>>50212251Oh, thank you, I remembered not being able to find it there earlier this year so I never looked again.

>>50206562Eushully is not releasing the game on steam, though. Shiravune got the publishing rights and the R-18 patch was made as countermeasure for the payment processor melty, never thinking in steam because only gaslighted westoids and chinks care for it.
>>50213309Seems intriguing. Would you recommend it?
>>50213309>Appetite
>>50213516Appetite releases three to five games a month, but because they release so many eventually some of them are decent.
>>50213520>egs 55 >vndb 6.67looks like kuso to me
>>50213527I didn't mean that one in particular.
>>50213575So what ones are decent?
>>50213598I remember liking ONE of their grannyfucking games but I don't remember which. The one with the dark-skinned amazon girl, Theresa I think, who gets fucked a lot.The one where MC has to work from home and fucks his mother in lawOne or two ntrge but they're so interchangeable and I read them a decade ago, don't ask me.
>>50206562The lack of eroticism, its incongruency throughout, and its overall ineptitude at expressing anything sensual to begin with, seeming detached from the story, add to which that in spite of being a prequel, the story seemed nowhere and fleeting, not chaining into Kamidori at all, is what basically killed their latest game, caused it to bomb, and made them rush in trying to salvage things with appends. That failed too, of course, because appends are meant to refine what currently exist, and you can't refine nothing. All their previous titles were built on the foundation that 'this is an erotic game, and will move forward so', but Hyakusen tried divorcing itself from all that, and we can see what happened. It even forced them to go to foreign markets in hope of recouping expenses. Of course, listening to consumers with wishy washy input was a terrible move too.So then, given all this, I conjecture the opposite will occur. They'll double down on eroticism, return to root, and discard all nonsense to the contrary, since that's what net them success. I don't think they'll ever go for these amorphous medieval settings again also, or if they are, then they'll at least try it with a better spin. Unfortunately, since they screwed up, it might take 6-8 years before they release anything, rather than say 1-4.What remains to be seen won't be seen any time soon. That's what happens when you screw up.Like all those guys who thought there's bank to be made in gacha, when it just killed their company instead, or like the guys who tried pushing for anime, only to die out in the process, or like everyone else who tried removing eroticism to no success whatsoever. The 9nine spinoff will be just as worthless in the end. It's all worthless. They'll keep dying repeatedly until common sense crystalizes and people will think, hey, maybe it's best we keep the sex and make it a straightforward ADV.
sakuuta is fucking walking garbage. maybe it was a mistake to read this right after muramasa.
>>50213760The first three routes of Sakuuta are terrible. Push through for Epitaphs and IV-VI, it'll all be worth it eventually. It's a very backloaded game.
>>50213760I finished it earlier and ended up loving it despite most of the first half being pretty shit. One of the rare cases where the it gets good in X hours posters are right
>>50213760sakuuta and muramasa actually have a shared fanbase. the subjects and themes are different but i think both appeal to the same kind of person, similar approach to the nature of storytelling itself. sakuuta fans also prefer bst over musicus while wa2 fans prefer musicusas for your statement itself, it's true the first half of sakuuta is intentionally dogshit and it leaves all of the good stuff for the back half, but there are good bits sprinkled throughout. if you didn't like those good bits and they didn't give you motivation to progress, just drop it probably.
Sakuuta begins from the middle, the most calm part, where most of the problems were already solved. You're just lost for half of the story. Having reread it a couple of times, it's cool to finally understand what the fuck they're talking about in some parts. Plus the affection you'll probably gain for some characters, even the banal conversations are nice to read, like the swing or the Rin navigator parts, but that is just me.
What are the latest JOP kamige which are released after 2020?

>>50214601he said kamige
>>50214510Depends on your definition of kamige. Nothing worth learning Japanese for has been released in the 2020s. But best received games are Black Sheep Town, Sakura no Toki and Hentai Prison. In that order.
>>50214640forgot monmusu 3, amakano 2+ and mamiya
>>50213766i thought all of Sakuuta sucked ass even if there were moments where it sucked less>Eptitaphslike 70% of this chapter is just porn and masturbation jokes, yeah the actual parts where it deals with the story is decent, but people really overstate it. but the porn is shit and scaji isn't very funny. so if you dont like those you're kind of out of luck for this chapter.>IVi didnt really like this because it felt annoying how fucking hard they jerked off Naoya's dad. it's basically just an entire side story about what a cool guy naoya's dad is having him defeat an extremely one-note villain. It's also even worse in Toki, it feels like sca-ji uses Naoya's dad as a mouthpiece whenever he wants to give a sermon to the reader>Vkei vs naoya rivalry never felt convincing and a lot of dumb scenes like the sui painting scene. it has some cool bit at the end with the rin discussion but that's basically it.>VIi like the idea behind this chapter but i dont like execution that much. the entire point is that naoya's life is supposed to suck, but it's honestly not that bad at all. the message would be better delivered by a different character imo. also toki kinda sours VI due to how shit it is. fuck toki. >>50214296i like BST more than musicus but i dont like sakuuta

>>50214754>should i wait for the demake
>>50214680>but i dont like sakuutaIt's a title easy to dislike. BST has no obvious flaws, but Sakuuta is a unique case because it's both good and bad at what it does. It has strong appeal to people who are pretentious about art (a considerable portion of JOPs), and people who brainlessly like everything they consume (most EOPs). Most Sakuuta fans are a combination of the two.

It was incredibly mediocre experience, one you forget after 2 month and wonder what the fuck people see in it besides having no taste and just assuming it must be good because writer that is "supposed to be good" wrote it.>>50216060I have great taste in media unlike you, I jugde works by their contents. that's how I can tell the novel was shit. If it was released under anonymous writer name having the exact same contents, no one would give it score more than 6. It is exclusively carried by writer's reputation. You, on the other hand have no taste whatsoever.

>>50216387Which of these have the best romance?
>>50216381Based. It's actually the opposite, I knew that no matter what I type you insecure faggots will pick the opposite. Now go read BST and rate it high no matter what you actually think of it because you have no thoughts and opinions in your head, only rating and reputation. What % is there any of the fags shilling BST will ever have balls to write out any concrete points or ideas that made them like it? 0%. Because it's a novel about nothing that has nothing standing out about it.
>>50216428Try Carnival. I enjoyed all of Setoguchi's works except for Kira Kira but it's the only one that's special to me. BST is good but not special, leans too heavily on nihilism and manic paranoia so it will appeal to people with that disposition, which I don't have. You can tell Setoguchi is an absolute asshole in real life because his works always contain the motif of looking down on ordinary people and not trusting others, and the worst thing about it is his self inserts aren't necessarily moral people either. That's someone who gave into nihilism.
>>50216428i wouldn't be surprised if you also read BST on autopilot at this point. some vns are more depanding then other, if you got filtered (but calling it "boring") then it's just not for you. but the consensus is that it's the best setoguchi's work, and i assure you that's not because "people rate it high no matter what", that's just how you cope with either a low iq or the lack of discipline required for works of such calibre as BST
plotcucks arguing about which of their kusoge is better or worse is the funniest to always see, nigga no vn writer is good at writing stories lmaoif you don't read vns for moege why even bother pick up a book niggaginharu > negro sheep
>>50216468wrong board sir
>>50216453I read Carnival. I enjoyed my time with it, but it's also not something that stood out to me. My favorite Setoguchi are 暗い部屋 and hirahira(especially doctor half has a lot to think about), those are works I'm glad I read and that stick with me after years. >>50216455Yeah, if a game does not grab me I tend to read on autopilot. If something starts resonating with me, I start thinking more. There are plenty of games that won me over in the process and even made me reread them. >the consensus is that it's the best setoguchi's workAnd I would love to know why. "It's the best work because people decided its the best" is not an opinion about the game. Maybe I am low iq and I don't get this, I want people to say what the fuck about it they liked so much. Reviews are full of vagueposting too. 10/10 VNDB review:>The writing is probably what most people are going to take away from this work, it's consistent until the end and I found even during the slow parts it was still very engaging. I don't know if everyone else will feel this way about BST but the way the chapter progression works I felt was pretty cool. You can choose which chapter you want to read and later on there will be chapters that are locked and require you to read the other available chapters to proceed. I thought it was really well done but people probably won't give it much thought. What kind of vagueposting is this? What about the writing? prose or ideas? anything concrete at all??? Is the high iq understanding of BST that I'm lacking was how chapters were not linear and you could choose which you wanted to read?
>>50216543>"It's the best work because people decided its the best" is not an opinion about the game.you are the one who made that cope up. it's impossible for ALL kamige to resonate with the same person, but don't assume that if something filtered you THEN it's overrated and botted by a hive-mind or whatever>vndb reviewslol. egs has tons of reviews btw: https://erogamescape.dyndns.org/~ap2/ero/toukei_kaiseki/game.php?game=25166
>>50216543>Reviews are full of vagueposting tooi never read the game but i just went and checked and there are more reviews that do talk about the themes and ideas of the game so it's weird how you're taking one of them and acting like every single review is vague like that one you pointed out
>>50216562also you can mtls those on bangumi: https://bangumi.tv/subject/212376/reviews
>>50216335>whining about trannies out of nowhere so it's hard to take you seriously. This is the second time I've seen this exact response to an anon criticizing Setoguchi. Since when are we a pro-tranny general? Let anons whine about trannies.
>>50216468Trvke
>>50216562Ok anon, you won this one because I have to go and gonna be busy for a while, but next time I will change my strats and be nicer so hopefully I will be able to beat some substance out of people. I don't actually want to read reviews, I want to talk to people because I can back and forth probe ideas and ask to elaborate, which is why I'm here. But people are scared shitless to elaborate what they like about novels they read for some reason, making it impossible. Reminds me like a week ago I was pressing a guy to explain to me what he found so "lifechanging" about subahibi and after 3 posts he asked chat-gpt and sent me the summary screenshot, he was also claiming to be 130 iq superior reader. forgive me for thinking people don't have their own thoughts and just creating their perceptions of works based on reputation.
>>50216689have you tried reading the chat-gpt explanation?
>>50216583If the only response you're capable of coming up with when faced with someone liking a VN you don't is to call them a tranny, all that tells me is that you're a newfag obsessed with trannies and not worth taking seriously. >>50215989 this isn't "criticism", btw.
