Been playing 蒼海の皇女たち, about 90% of the way done. It's one of those games with a long common route, and seems to have exceptionally short routes. First of all, I want to say that I apologize if I sound retarded(since I'm drunk as shit) and I'm willing to expand on anything I'm asked about.There are I believe 6 heroines, and 2 unavoidable sex scenes in the game. One is with サフィーヌ(blowjob) and the other with the redhead woman(paizuri, then sex). There seems to be an early divergence(not confirmed, might differ with whether you sink one of your first ships with your cannon or torpedoes) that might perhaps interact with it.First of all, the combat system is VERY awkward. Sometimes it's just right and allows you to rape your enemies while you feel all self-satisfied, but the majority of the time it's unintelligible(what am I supposed to do? at what depth and distance will I get detected? can I attack the enemy or no? etc) and you will be forced to reload your autosave over and over for the best result. At the same time, I don't think there's any actual difference between hiding like a little bitch at the depths of the sea all the time and defeating all your enemies outside of a few(literally) lines of dialogue. It doesn't seem to matter at all so long as you don't die and get a gameover, which you would need to go out of your way to get.The girls, story and characters are generally agreeable. I would want to go through the routes of 3 of the 6 girls, which is more than usual. The routes seem exceptionally short though. I enjoyed the prose. The sex scenes and romance feels a little 節約気味, not quite satisfying but still decent. If you're bored and want to try something a little, but not too much new then I think this is a decent title. If there's any famous titles or the like you've yet to try though you're probably better off with them than with this.There is a sequel which seems to be...one with a female protag, lesbian sex, and mainly your crew being raped by the big bad enemy. I don't mind the first two, but I can't allow the last one. I have better shit to do than to read on and on about that. Haven't read it and don't plan to though, so who knows what it's like?

Finished Rebellions. Drastically underrated and pretty unknown, which is odd because I figured battle royales would have been more popular with the VN audience.Was it perfect? Hell no, the straight-up superhuman maid took up too much focus, I would have preferred a less hamfisted way of getting everyone to kill each other in the C route and for the way they created to escape to actually have been deployed en-masse, but eh, I still enjoyed it as a whole. Finished Hirahirahihiru. Why does it get bashed all the time here? General consensus of this thread is that it's the, as they say, black sheep of his works. My general take it's that it's a very novel work and i can't think of any other VN, or other Japanese media, that covers the topic with such care and (for the most part) nuance. Very cool to have it be a VN that goes the complete other way compared to your now cry Key aids plot device narratives. Great,albeit sometimes boring, addition to the overall catalogue.It does have it's flaws, Repetitiveness being the most obvious. Not sure why they decided to still have exposé about the difference in symptoms between patients 20 chapters in. And i also could do without the consistent announcement every other scene that someone was 顰める'ing their face. The route structure is also a bit of a mess. I get that you need different POV's to create more situations to show the disease and it's consequences, but you probably need a stronger ending for every choice, since there is only one satisfying route per character, and doing the other after beating the game is a drag when the drama and characters are already the weakest part of the narrative.
