Someone from here recommended me a while ago to watch the Amagami anime after I finished the game. I finished the last episode yesterday. As a standalone series it's great, but as an adaptation I found it disappointing. The last few episodes were especially hard to watch as they had to greatly simplify a certain heroine's character to fit the four-episode limitation. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who liked her route, otherwise it's fine.

They really captured the heroines' personality with the EDs, Morishima's being upbeat rock, Nanasaki's jazz fusion, etc. Sae's especially is still stuck in my head. As to Tsukasa's route, I actually think the main issue was that it was impossible to make her motivations and development make sense in only four episodes without exaggerating her character. She warms up way too quickly in the beginning, and by the end she acts so emotionally it makes her seem mentally unstable. The last two episodes are basically an anime original. To be honest, they gave me the impression anime Ayatsuji has BPD or some other mental illness. Age regression is a symptom of mental disorder. Of course, nothing remotely similar to that happens in the VN. She does "delete" one of her "personalities" in the bad ending, but the result is completely different. Anyway, it didn't seem like the same character. I could tell the scenario writer was talented by the way she transposed some of the scenes, especially in Kaoru's episodes, but clearly she prioritized making the four episodes entertaining over maintaining her character faithful to the VN. It's still a good anime if you've never played the game.
