Gonna quickly note that while I haven't read the VN version of it yet, I'm confident that Tsumihoroboshi is going to top Peak Fiction and be the best arc in Higurashi, so I'll include it in my response.I think the "Peak Fiction" arcs are all quite different in how excellent they are, but if there is a common thread between them, I think they're the three arcs for Higurashi that feel the most focused. Meakashi especially has genuinely incredible pacing which is kind of insane given R07's track record, but all three of these arcs have a thematic focus to them that feels far more tightly written and intentional than the other arcs. They don't just have great "moments", from start to finish they are consistently engaging and valuable.Also, Tsukiotoshi has a good concept but holy shit, the writer for those two arcs is garrrrrbage. Although I have yet to finish the actual main story and maybe it will end with a rather bleak hopeless message that scene involving Nitta will always have a special place in my heart just pure Keiichi core so fucking good =w=But yeahhhh there are a ton of stuff I don't like about it as well the rape is one of it and how utterly dark it can get at times but I think it's part of the point the story wishes to tell, we'll have to see if it all pays off in the end!
