Kinda funny watching them go back to stuff they tested on the Abrams 45 years ago.

Realistically, what firearm would you need to take down a rampaging Na'vi from the Avatar films? Nine feet of solid muscle and bone (reinforced with natural carbon fibre), extremely fast-moving and agile, fighting on their own turf with very short engagement distances? There's no way 5.56 mm would cut it, would 7.62mm be enough?

Back in june italy was pondering about the possibility of developing a nuclear carrier. Back then it was still considered too ambitious of a an endeavour and quite hefty on the navy budget, but with the current increase in tensions between europe and the usa i believe it will be accomplished. Now, what i wonder is: will the nuclear rearmament of italy influence other nations as well?

I had a "gunsmith" do a total hack job on a 1911 I gave him once. All he was doing was switching out novak sights for tritium novak sights and when I got it back from him it was shooting way off and ftfing all of a sudden. I think the front sight he used was too short but that doesn't explain the ftfs

>Has anyone done a more honest math
I honestly dont know or atleast cant remember reading any pdf that specifically goes into detail of how many rounds per kill is needed.

But if we look at for example the second battle for fallujah and look at some of the detail regarding ammunition usage and supply
https://mwi.westpoint.edu/urban-warfare-case-study-7-second-battle-of-fallujah/
>The coalition staged a fifteen-day supply of rations, water, fuel, ammunition—over eleven million rounds—and other materials on the city’s edge
>In one example, one Marine tank company commander stated that during eight days of heavy fighting, his tanks had fired close to 1,600 main gun rounds, over 121,000 7.62-millimeter machine gun rounds, and over 49,000 .50-caliber machine gun rounds, with most of their targets being within two hundred meters
>A Marine weapons platoon commander reported that each of his assault teams averaged using six explosive satchel charges, three cases of Bangalore torpedoes (to clear IEDs), and ten shoulder-launched weapons daily.
>Coalition forces fired over four thousand artillery rounds and ten thousand mortar rounds into the city. Aircraft and gunships dropped 318 bombs and fired 391 rockets and 93,000 machine gun rounds in support of ground troops.

>According to Canadian Army doctrine, urban operations can create three to six times the number of casualties, consume four times the amount of ammunition, and require two-and-a-half times more water and rations per soldier than operations in other environments.

>38 American, 4 British, and 8 Iraqi military personnel were killed and approximately 275 American, 10 British, and 43 Iraqi personnel were wounded. An estimated 1,000 to 1,500 insurgents had been killed and another 1,500 captured. Approximately eight hundred civilians were also killed.
The 250k rifle rounds per kill figure is way too high. A tank company in 8 days of fighting did not manage to reach that number or rifle rounds fired.
>>
>>64759063
And yet the US only needed 50,000 rounds on average to kill one Viet Cong

This unironically is why thirdies cant into war, they fail to see the bigger picture of combined arms warfare. It’s not just “muh air” “muh missies” “muh tanks” it’s ISR, logistics, ground control, electronic warfare, air defense and SEAD, artillery and counter battery, medical and CASEVAC, intel and glowie ops, etc.
“WE ARE SUPAPOWA BC WE HAVE TANKS AND PLAINS SAAR!”
Those tanks and plains are only good if you have the logistics to supply them and recover/repair them. Furthermore if your plains don’t include or neglect neutralizing, or protecting your assets from enemy antitank and anti-air systems there as good as worthless if all you’ve got to show for it is a battlefields worth of lost multi billion dollar equipment and only a few dozen kilometers. Its’s the reason these turd-world militaries always end up looking like vidrel after a few years fighting.
>>
>>64759858
>over 11 million rounds
>1,000 - 1,500 insurgents
That's 7-11,000 rounds per kill, for those wondering, assuming all 11 million rounds were fired and no additional ammunition was needed.

It's outclassed by many other guns in smaller packages.

It's a heavy, expensive and unusually proportioned gun that relies more on its substantial weight than its gimmick operating system for recoil reduction.

Mechanically-driven high-rpm revolver cannon/rifle/etc. Spins up without firing until the user triggers it. Must be able to get RPMs up prior to firing. No feed system, or else a feed cutoff until fired. Likewise, no ejection until fired. Goal is extremely fast, short, bursts, like SPIW had sex with an aircraft revolver cannon.

Guys, got the offer for a Beretta O/U 686 Special Skeet 12/70 for 400 eurobucks. For a lack of a shotgun/clay/hunting general I‘ll ask here. What do we think of it and the price? Aside from some wood that came off at the bottom of the pistol grip there aren‘t that many flaws I can make out. Any shotgun experts willing to weigh in? Chokes are 1/2 / 1/2, haven‘t helf it yet but may report tomorrow
