>tl;dr: the US allegedly used sonic weapon to fuck maduro's guards during the operation the whole post feel like BS propaganda to make the US seems untouchable can this be real right ?
>>64755079There would be shrapnel if it was a grenade. Besides, their orders were to take Maduro alive, so they probably couldn't throw grenades.
>>64755092It's called an offensive grenade, not a lot of frag and just a big ol fuck you full of TNT like the old M111 or M3A2They will rock your cock off but probably not fill you full of metal
>>64749544>>64749613Men are fond of weaving tall tales to explain their inadequacy. A south American security larper is very inadequate next to actual soldiers, imagine that, and so invents some battlefield mythology shit out of Metal Gear Solid.

>>64754930The one we live in you fucking retard, go rupture all of your sinuses and get back to me.
my employer is sending me to the ghetto next few weeks. I have a few boxes of match ammo at my disposal and nothing else. how viable would it be in a self defense situation?
>>64754900They're bullets anon, whoever you end up blasting isn't going to enjoy it
>>64754900I'm confused, are you too poor to afford a box of 9mm? What firearm?
>>64754900On the one hand, it's a bullet. It will put a hole in someone if you shoot them with it. On the other, that's not exactly an ideal load to carry, for several reasons. Most "match" ammunition is loaded to just above the minimum velocity and energy levels required to meet most "power factor" requirements, so that the shooter can focus on pulling the trigger and not managing recoil. They're also usually loaded with light round nose bullets. They won't expand, and they won't have a lot of ass behind them.If you're really worried, just go buy about 50 defensive loads, shoot a couple magazines so you aren't surprised by the recoil in an emergency, and then carry the rest in your gun. They're not that expensive if you aren't blowing them in bulk shooting drills with them.
I just got a high paying job and in celebration I'm going to update my arsenal. Pls give input on my choices for these roles and let me know if there's something better:>Ruger SFAR as main DMR rifle, open to other short receiver .308 ARs or a .308 bullpup>M&P9 or 10mm Witness as handgun, I do live in grizzly country and this will be my primary HD/clearing gun>Kel Tec RDB as building clearing/HD rifle>KSG as HD shotgun>Mossberg Aftershock as drone gun to be worn on a scabbard, can also double as bear gun with slugs>300WM rifle as sniper (undecided but either a cheapo Savage bolty or go all in and get a Desert Tech SRS for $6k)Already have my carry guns set and most of the common rifles for range funs but want specific ones that best fill those roles. What are your go-to's?
>>64753795I've never had a gun break except an SCCY and Mossberg. It's not really a thing that happens. My rifle isn't going to blow up because it has a Ruger rollmark on it. Even the Kel Tecs aren't at risk of detonating. You don't need to spend thousands for a gun to work, they're not hard to make. It's like 1500s technology. Just avoid late stage capitalism cheap outs like plastic parts and it should be fine. I'm not really planning on bringing the Kel Tecs to war though. All those have to do is put down like 4 monkeys tops if they break into my house.
>>64753902get a mp5 with a can because it's fun and cheap to shoot
>>64753766Not to be autistic, but a 10" is also too loud, the flash is too great, and concedes both terminal ballistics unless the right ammo is used and also concedes a lot of AP capability if your opponent is wearing plates. Plates are cheaper than they've basically ever been and they are increasingly mainstream. Obviously train for failure drills (in the dick!) but it's still an issue to be contended with.M855 does not reliably pop all PE plates for example at low velocities. It reliably punches through 98% of them at over 3,000ft/s. For another, unrelated thought, it just got found out in /gq/ and it raised a huge shitstir that the budget Level IV plate everyone has been using, the Hesco 4403, has basically no headroom above Level IV spec and M2AP reloaded just 20-30ft/s above NIJ spec (2,910ft/s) will pen a conditioned plate. Anon getting a long schlong .300 winmag and learning to reload would fulfill that larp fantasy nicely.
After taking some input, I think a wlvrn might be best for me. The sfar doesn't seem to be the most accurate for an AR, and I've heard that the wlvrn is one of the most accurate piston driven systems that exist. It satisfies my short bullpup/clearing rifle role, and can be caliber swapped if I feel I need something specialized without having to confuse my manual of arms.
>>64755130Also does anyone know why they stopped doing the forward ejection version? Was it really that unreliable or should I hunt a used one down?

>20 years ago>People constantly felate the F22, claiming its the plane version of jesus.>Constantly disparage the F35 saying its a an expensive boondongle that can't fight and is shit and is worse in every way to the f22 and they should have just made more f22s instead of axing the program>Today>People lament that the f22 is underutilized as it never gets any engagements>Still question the value of F35 despite its multiple successes in infiltrating enemy held airspace and leading ground attack missions in heavily defended adversary airspace. Its time you admit that F35 is the superior aircraft.
>>64754260the f22's value is that if we ever go to war with a country that we gave f-35s we can easily defeat them in dogfights
>>64754510this is so retarded and brown, it's like saying the rafale could win a F22 duel because it did during a meeting when in reality it would eat an aim260 guided by a ship or an AWAC before even spotting the thing>t. French
>>64754260I don't think anyone said the F-35 was shit, it has problems and there's things it can't do but at least to me it was always clearly a capable aircraft. The problem is the fucking cost, which was and remains way too fucking much for what it is, and the insanely long development time. It's not a waste of money because it's bad, it's a waste of money because the DoD is absolutely fucking whipped by the military-industrial complex and will happily pay daddy Lockheed and uncle Martin however many kerjillion burgers they demand over however many years they stall for. And it happened again with the fucking NGSW program and the absolute travesty that is the Sig Saar XM7. If you live in America and pay taxes you should be pissed the fuck off by that, because they're wasting YOUR money.

Whats the realistic largest object you can camo from Air surveilance?
>>64752420Muh dik
>>64753379OP clearly said the largest, not the smallest, anon.
>>64753044Yeah the story behind it is interesting. An American was working in Slovakia and found a hobo sleeping inside the statue at a junkyard. He liked it because the artist actually made it slightly out of spec by including guns and bayonets on it (see bottom right). Lenin was supposed to be presented in art as an intellectual, not a warmonger. He bought it and had it shipped home so he could use it as a curio in front of a restaurant he was going to open. Sadly he died soon after this and Lenin never got to promote a diner. The family tried to sell it to a foundry but they declined and so it went up in the hopes that somebody would buy it. It's still for sale, so if anyone really hates Lenin, just buy it and turn it into Funko pops or something. It's not even that expensive, like $250k.
>>64754031>purchase home on decently-large tract of land>purchase Lenin statute>place Lenin statute in front yard>make a little park around it, with several flag poles in a semi-circle behind it>make sure the central and tallest pole is flying the Stars and Stripes>make sure one of the other poles is flying the Confederate battle flag>leave all future visitors and deliverymen forever mystified by your political leanings
>>64754031His business plan was conceptually flawed. People go to restaurants in order to actually eat.
Wouldn't people just recognize they're soldiers just by their pants, shoes, groups, muscular build, where they came from and political situation?
>>64752335Any chance is better than no chance. People will do anything in desperation, fleeing capture or execution will lead most people to try anything to up their chances of escape.

>>64754499>That's not how jet engines work.>You'll need to have a separate propulsion systemWhat about going high bypass and using electrically driven stators as propellers, basically a pump jet.Clearly the engine isn't ignited in this scenario, you're running off battery until you hit air and ignite the engine. How to get the thrust to get airborne before your engine is lit is a problem, possibly you skim the surface with intakes above the water and ignite the engine then, your landing gear could have both wheels and hydrofoil fins or skis or something (with some variable geometry to select the necessary wheel/skid/ski/fin) and you rise up higher on them until you reach takeoff speed.Alternatively, run the engine as normal from compressed gas with closed intakes and have a gas burning engine that operates underwater for short periods during take-off and replenishes its gas supply in-flight.There's no version that doesn't require a bit of near-future materials science or engineering though.
