Recently there has been a trend of Shaheds armed with various anti-aircraft missiles, both MANPADS and R-60s. Is there any real merit to this? I can assume that these are presumably supposed to cooperate with the drones we've seen carrying rear-facing cameras, with the missile Shadhed trailing the spotting one, but this seems like a lot of investment to put into a rather dubious shootdown chance.

Didn't the ukies down a heli with a USV armed with a AA missile? It's kind of a similar idea, adds some complication to the task of shooting them down.

not that I know of. I know they used AA missiles from a drone boat in anger, but iirc results were poor and I haven't seen any hits.

At least half a dozen of them, yeah. And potentially one or two planes. There was a ton of whining in Telegram channels since some of the shot down pilots weren't recovered because nobody bothered to send a recovery crew in a timely manner.
Ruslims had to create special rules where helicopters should approach the USVs from the back as to not get shot down kek.

noob here, if I understand your question, you have an original Garand that was used for lower power 3006 loads made in the 1940s. Did you check the specs for the proper/safe loading for that year Garand? If so you should be good to go. Someone asked the same question here

You've heard of FRTs, but what's a "super safety"?
>uses the safety to force the reset of the trigger
>allows for way more trigger options (you just have to trim two places)
>invented by Tim Hoffman (https://hoffmantactical.com)
>gifted to the world to freely 3D print
>enterprising people now selling super safeties made of steel (recommend at least 4140)
>cheaper than an FRT ($90-$150)
>originally a 3-position cross-bolt safety
>left is safe, right is semi, middle is super
>3-position 90° super safety selectors are now available

Believe it or not? He's probably looking out for you. But if you want to push it, if meps didn't pick up on it, it's not his place to say. Find another recruiter if you truly want this. You may be beyond the point of being able to mask it though. Drills will notice.

Did you say the words "yes I have an autism diagnosis" or any derivative of this? This complicates things greatly if you did.
>>
>>64760814
Have you been actually diagnosed by some kind of medical professional? How intensely autistic are you that recruiters are just cold diagnosing you? Be honest.
>>
>>64760675
No good answer. Marines do vague contracts that could stick you into a bunch of things.
I've been told aviation is surprisingly decent in the marines though. Doubt it's better than say, the 160th though. At least you know what airframe you'll work on in the Army.
Do not join the Marines unless it's during a war. Don't do it.
>>
>>64760868
>Find another recruiter if you truly want this
I dont think I need another recruiter as I am already enlisted into the DEP
He also isnt standing in my way and he didnt say anything to me directly and he generally seems pretty nice
Its just allegedly he said those things to another applicant and the other applicants told me about it

I am not upset with him over saying or thinking anything it just makes me self conscious and worried about being "found out" and removed from basic

I have not said anything about it to him or anyone and I shrugged it off and laughed and acted like I wasnt bothered when the other applicant told me this

>>64760898
I was diagnosed when I was in elementary school but my parents fought the school to keep me from being put in therapy and on Ritalin or Adderall or etc

I dont really know "how autistic" I am as its hard to judge from my own shoes
I can recognize that habits I have and things I like align with people I see online that would be made fun of for being "autistic" or "weird"

Turns out I was wrong. idk where I read that Teddy liked peep sights, I know the one letter is about him buying a .22 with peep sights
https://www.theodorerooseveltcenter.org/digital-library/o293878/
it must have been for the Smithsonian African trip
I'll post the other version of the letter in the next post but, it turns out he always used what are basically express sights with a u notch in the bottom with a ramped front bead.
https://www.loc.gov/resource/mss38299.mss38299-363_0001_0271/?sp=106&r=0.447,0.157,0.595,0.233,0
in his autobiography he specifically mentions drawing a bead on things, including an injun. he also straight up couldn't shoot for shit. He even admits he was a piss poor long range shot due to his shit eyes. eyes so she he couldn't get peeps to work. Peeps must still be the most accurate because every shooting competition that allows peeps but doesn't allow a scope has everyone using peeps over open sights. I wonder if he would use a red dot today or if his eyes were so shit he's seethe about the starburst

I’ve got a stupid question.

The ban on shipping firearms to your front door is due to guns requiring a background check at an FFL, correct? More specifically the idea that it makes it impossible to determine that the person that’s actually receiving it is not a prohibited person.
The CMP can ship long guns to you.
Capitol Armory can ship suppressors to you.
Manufacture/gunsmiths can ship to you.
So logically, shouldn’t you be able to order a gun and have it delivered to you as long as you fill out a digital 4473?
>>
So, looking at it cynically. Is this just a move so the current administration can say they're expanding gun rights without actually doing anything significant?
>>
>>64760941
gun laws never make sense, anon. don't try and find logic.
e.g. the entire SBR portion of the NFA is nonsense because pistols were supposed to be NFA items, originally.
We've been so used to it we fail to see the stupidity sometimes

You're tasked with building a kit to help Iranian resistance against the Ayatollah regime, the kits you build will be airdropped into Iranian territory in large dufflebags and then picked up by chosen operatives.

You have $3k per kit to try to arm an light resistance guerrilla fighter, you can only source items from the US civilian market. At minimum you should provide a rifle, a pistol, body armor, essential accessories and ammunition for both, as well as any survival or tactical implement you see necessary.

What kind of stuff do you pick?

Yeah its a fanfic, globalism would prevail either way. Just look at sweden, fucking racemixers. I just want things to be the way they were in the 90s/00s. Back then, I would be a social democrat. Now, I think that ideology (somewhat sensible taxes, somewhat sensible welfare, strong unions, bit of nationalism) is dead.

Still, WW2, hell, WW1 were all tragic mistakes. I am not antiwar, things like falklands, ton of african safaris, sandboxes 1,2,3... were all fun, but its because they were exported violence. Never get high on your own stuff I guess...
>>
>>64748403
There are always traitors and super evil, dumb or just misaligned actors. Sure. But I know of no war, that was won by traitors alone. Sure, there were some treasons with huge effects, but history is never written by individuals. Its always about the population supporting silently or loudly some bigger or smaller endeavors. Napoleon would be noone without the will of the french people to die for him. Hitler would be just some random racist episode if third of germs actually fought against him by other means than just by writing angry columns into their leftist papers and talking loudly about it after the war. Russia wouldnt be trapped in ukraine if most of russians didnt support their Tsar.
There is no jewish-rotschild-iluminati conspiracy forcing people to use inflationary dollar. Just ton of individual decisions to rather use this american banknote, based upon the quite reasonable thought that US isnt going to collapse until they can spend it and that a lot of people who sell goods also accept dollar.
/pol/ likes to point fingers, but they have no other policy proposals other than kill jews, minorities, enslave women, ???, profit.
Well, countries like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and rest of sahel, various areas under control of Islamic state spinoffs etc. etc. all implement all or parts of these proposals. They also probably have low taxes and liberal gun and drug laws. But do I want to live there? nah. And lemme tell you.
I do not actually think this is caused inherently by race or genetics. I have read about things that happened in Bosna, Serbia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Ukraine etc. Radicalism, fundamentalism and other extremisms simply arise from a population of poor young men with no good future to look forward to.
I am not some nigger lover, I still think they should stay where they are, because europe has only some, very limited, integration capacity, and I think EU fucked up big time by not shooting the boats.

Letting it collapse is dumb.
People fail in family forming because the environment isn’t suitable to form a family in.
This environment is not just the literal surrounding environment, but also the economic environment (including the time management economy), as well as the psychological environment (of both the female and the male, both who have differing requirements.)
All Japan will be left with is increasingly empty urban ghost spaces, which are usually fertile ground for crime spreading, though since this is japan i suppose they won’t be too rowdy.
Empty is still empty however.
Try forming a family in a Detroit like environment.
There will be no bounce back or stabilization like it’s some kind of ecosystem’s bird population, because the death of industrialized societies is just as exo-naturalistic as their birth.
