It’s kind of bizarre. Why does China only copy? They have the education system and industry. Is it just they can’t make something new or just don’t WANT to? Is it a severe risk-aversion thing? Just being "smart", ie, why invest when you can just copy? Or is it that their economy is heavily focused on abusing peasant labor so no one wants to pay and retain talented engineers who simply emigrate to where they’re valued?
