What pieces of shit. Sharp metal digging into the back of your trigger hand, rattly stocks, and on both models a noticable gap between handguard and upper. Pic rail on the upper was noticibly different from on the HG on the 7.62x39 model.
Genuinely worse quality than chinkshit snd that’s saying something.
Fucking awful.

Worst bolt i’ve ever used. Absolutely shit. Traded mine for a t3x and never looked back. Steer clear of these shitguns.
>>
>>61473115
t3x bolt is definitely smoother, also far more prone to jamming. i got mine because i wanted a bush gun, but i am considering a tikka as a bench gun too, i just don't like that they use proprietary mags.
>>
>>61473156
just mod it or get a body that takes aics mags?
>>
>>61473186
whats the deal with you and aics mags, i wanna top load and not carry a bunch of mags
>>
>>61473186
Or TIkka could stop being fuckers and just make it use normal mags from the factory instead of selling their own for $180 a piece. That's fucking robbery.
>>
>>61472994
95 isnt 1moa. better go with the tav7, more accurate. Though fuck does it have mag issues, i thought it was just the duramag steels that the 7 struggled with, but now its spitting out magpuls. going to have to buy more lancers. Or maybe i should just try dremelling out the mag catch pocket on the magpuls, it seems really shallow.
>>
>>61473203
then why are you buying a gun with a main selling feature being a removable box magazine?

nta but AICS mags are proven to work very well. and jsyk you can top feed PMAG AICS mags, the lips flex enough to push rounds in
>>
>>61473156
If your bolt action is jamming that’s fully user error
>>
>>61473215
Well the X95 is 5.56 and the Tavor7 is .308 so that's not really apples to apples comparison.
>>
>>61473203

>>
>>61473241
WWI (and their manufacturing practices) were more than a century ago. The horror of thousands of acres pummeled by artillery into mud and blood and swamp is not replicable anywhere in Canada. If you are getting jams with a modern manufactured bolt action in normal shooting conditions, that’s user error. I say this as a huntfag and a relative fudd by /cangen/ standards. There is no amount of bush that should fuck over a modern bolt action rifle. We aren’t at paschendale.

Savage 110’s, this generals 2nd favourite bolt gun ( ruger scout is still king), for example have an extremely sloppy bolt. If you don’t float the bolt just perfect and push straight you’ll bind up and won’t get a smooth bolt stroke.

Getting a semiauto if you don't have an AR-15 already sitting in your locker, in this environment, is a waste of money. You should cope by getting into a good shotgun, bolt action or lever gun and just run out the clock on the government. When they're out and the firearms act has been fixed, just buy the semiauto you actually want. You can just go buy any number of short barreled shotguns you want, it's cool and the only flex we have on the US. Single action long gun coping isn't the worst path to take, since you can still get quality firearms in this category.

You can get 12 round mags from MDT and then throw on their, I think, three round base plate extensions and squeeze fifteen out of it. That's the best and most easily available option I can think of. Ten is plenty adequate, but when I get a Ruger Scout, I fully intend to get four metal mags worth of those because I fucking can.

As it is crackheads get into those weekly
>>
>>61475186

Literally what else can they even do? This is an enormous country with a fairly small population, having people mail them in on the honour system is the only way to do this that's even remotely feasible
>>

I mean realistically, the only way to do it "properly" would be a completely unprecedented mobilization of the military against the population on a national scale, going door to door on *millions* of citizens. It would have taken years of sustained action, cost God knows how many billions of dollars, and people would have fucking died. Even I'm not black pulled enough to believe that would happen. They doomed themselves to fail the second they caved to the poly types and declared mandatory compliance on TV. Frankly I think they knew it from the start and have been stalling for time ever since.

this is extremely based but literally makes zero sense because canada post already ships guns but now wont help the feds despite being a fed corporation. someone there must hate trudeau.

Canada Post workers are unionized, while they may feel comfortable doing deliveries, picking up has more risks. Criminal gangs can tail the trucks, wait for them to pick up enough guns, and then raid them, which puts their drivers at risk. The union doesn’t want that.
So now the RCMP, municipal police forces, Provincial police, and even Canada Post have refused to partake in the program. Looks like the gun buyback was a massive flop and impacted the government’s position severely. They know it’s impossible to enforce, their bluff failed.

Hahahahaa ohh wow. Give us your guns and THEN we'll tell you what you're getting, maybe. And we're too lazy to even come get them, we want to cuck you so hard you literally mail them to us so we don't have to lift a finger.

Basically there are these 2 "arms" that retain the bolt in the rear position located in this circle. They spent $42 million, with 60 Public Safety Canada staff, to try and find a way to implement it, RCMP has 15, and Service Canada has 2 employees working on it.
IBM got paid $2.27 million for a contract to design the program, and the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association got $700,000 for identifying firearms.
So far, not a single vendor has actually devised a plan to seize the weapons, and there’s no transportation system without Canada Post, so it’s all money down the drain.
The full confiscation program would have probably cost $1 Billion +.

The OIC has prevented people from enjoying shooting as a sport and using their property in ways they should be able to use it. It's had a chilling effect to prevent people from buying or selling handguns for years now and it's designed to make gun ownership and use more difficult, like all firearms laws in Canada. Make the bar to entry so tedious and make the pursuit so arduous that any fruit it bears will not be worth it in the end. They want you to simply give up so they no longer have to fight you, that's the goal of every communist. They are afraid of conflict and only like it when power is tipped heavily in their favour. Citizens having millions of guns is a real problem for their power grab tactics, they'd just simply prefer docile sheep to cull like in Australia/NZ/UK.

It's pissed off those of us who have the affected guns, but keep perspective. I think it was the year before where we set an all-time record for gun imports.

Honestly they will keep pushing it. We saw that with the Long Gun Registry years ago. Everyone said it was a stupid waste of money and only so many people even complied with it. The program cost several BILLION dollars over its short lifetime and accomplished absolutely nothing other than to create a shopping list of firearms for thieves who breached the RCMP servers DOZENS of times.

They will keep wasting money because it's a make work project and virtue signalling, and there's no price too steep when you're using taxpayer money to show everyone how much you hate guns and love public safety. If the Liberals get elected in 2025 we will see untold amounts of money being wasted on this, and I guarantee it'll go into the billions.

The Libs already tried to sneak in a total ban with C-21 amendments, which ended up causing such an uproar that they pulled it back. Now, the unanimous refusal to carry out the most-extreme parts of their policy has fucked up the liberals plan. The OIC and criminal code mean nothing if they cannot be enforced. A buyback, turning into a never-ending amnesty, which will turn into a grandfather clause is hilariously bad politically.
The entire Liberal party’s ideology is sanctimony, they have drained the gun-control well dry, they’ll move on to something else.

Yeah their little broccoli heads are still developing so they only know a world that's been rife with shit and misery thus far. I think this probably the start of a new era for gun ownership, it's just sad that the UK, NZ, and Australia all had to serve as examples of gun control run amok for people to wake up and say no more. I've noticed a lot of people are no longer afraid to speak up about who actually pulls the strings on this shit too, a certain group of tiny hatted individuals are really under the microscope lately. This is something I think about a lot. Swine flu knocked me on my ass as a 23y.o. way more so than COVID did as an old man. I was seriously fucked up from it for at least a week.

>Trannys were thought of as fringe freaks
It was 2014 or so the first time I saw a public figure apologize for saying that "men have penises and women have vaginas" and I thought it was the fucking wildest thing I'd ever heard. The last ten years have been a trip, that kind of thing doesn't even perk the ears up anymore
>>61476448
Yeah, the AWB got it. The FRT used to say it wasn't derived from the AR-15, but the pigs at the lab quietly removed that part after the OIC dropped like the slimy fucks they are

Assuming thats just light strikes; the alleged solution is just to cut or remove the firing pin spring.
Have not tested that, and such 308 seems to be all dried up atm.

Can someone explain why Tikka mags are like $100-250? A plastic/metal box the size of a cigarette pack and a spring should not cost that much.
>>
>>61476660
supply and demand sonny, tikka knows what they got
>>
>>61476448
Yes. I’ve tried to buy it from this guy like three times and he keeps being like “haha just gonna keep the ad up a bit longer buddy”
>>
>>61476660
Probably because the only people who ever buy Tikka mags are fudds who lost the one that came with the gun, so the manufacturer has them by the balls. It's not like anybody buys a bunch of them to load up their plate carrier with, right
>>
>>61476687
Haha... No, that would be crazy. Why would you need 5 loaded mags of .308 at the ready...

Technically still NR but the RCMP changed the FRT to prohib so you might run into some trouble if you shoot it on crown and a cop runs up the FRT.

>>61476905
just get an SKS. anyone who tells you not to get an SKS is a faggot and should be ignored.
>>
>>61473013
Get a cheapo sks or T81. You're a newbie so you wouldn't be doing anything reloading related, and those guns are easy to clean after you shoot surplus ammo.

>Worst bolt i’ve ever used
Just the action, or the whole rifle? I have the 5.56 one, and the bolt is rough, but it's a laser beam and the iron sights kick ass
>>
>>61476835
Wasn’t the SLR specifically named in the OIC? I thought it was only the ATRS MS which they probably just forgot that dodged the oic and then went FRT prohib.
>>
>>61476905
whats your budget
>>61476920
sks were good choices when they were $150 new, now they are $1000 but its faggot to point that out apparently
>>
>>61476930
Nah it the MS and the sterling were all NR. The modern hunter is in a dubious spot because it’s SORT OF named as potentially an “AR-10 variant”
>>
>>61476935
SKSs are only $1000 if you're a retard who loves getting scammed lmao, you can easily find them for $400-600 still. more expensive than it used to be but there's still nothing in that price range that competes in terms of utility and fun.
>>
>>61476935
Well my budget is fine. I dont mind spending a few thousand. But in reality I want a Shotgun and a Semi and a Bolt action. Most importantly I think I want a rifle for target shooting. I was looking at an SL8 but people told me not to buy a cope and to just wait to spend that much money on a good rifle in a year or two. So I started looking at these 22's
>>
>>61476800
The 10/22 is probably the best starter rifle there is, but get the basic model. You can frequently find them well under $500. Shoot it for a while, and then upgrade it bit by bit with aftermarket parts as the mood strikes you. It's an extremely customizable gun. There's no sense paying several hundred dollars more for a fancier model when it's your very first rifle.
>>
>>61476948
yeah but $400-600 range are now usually bottom of the barrel rusted out and painted over which people here have complained about... like that one anon saying he fell for the russian meme because his was beat to shit
>>
>>61476961
there is nothing wrong with an SL8 because buying a legit G36 is $10k+. just know that its designed to be a bench shooting precision rifle and not something you run around offhand shooting like you would a G36
>>
>>61476961
>I was looking at an SL8 but people told me not to buy a cope
Anon, if you only listen to one piece of advice, make it this one. Fucking ignore people who tell you that anything *not* an AR-15 is a cope. The AR is great, but it's just one option, and there are plenty of other great ones. The SL8 is a great target rifle by a very high quality manufacturer. If you like the look of it, don't be talked out of it by brainrotted retards who think the AR-15 is the only valid rifle to ever exist
>>
>>61476969
not true at all, you can go on GunPost right now and see plenty that are in good condition, and I've been to several gun shops in the past few months that had good ones for ~$500. once again this is only a problem if you're a retard who loves getting scammed.
>>
>>61476999
Lol checked and thank you. I think that might be what I end up doing.
>>61476996
Thank you.
>>
>>61476961
if you are on a super budget and just want a pump shotgun that works then get a USED maverick 88 which should run you $200 tops, dont buy a new one like some retards here because the price of a new one could have bought a used mossberg 500 unironically
>>
>>61477048
Thanks for the advice I'll look into getting a used shotgun then. That's just something I want to have at home anyways. I doubt I'll get much use from it.
>>
>>61476924
the play in the bolt is by design, and anyone who's shot Mauser actions would recognize this is typical of any rifle that uses them including old Mausers. it will tolerate a shitload of grime and debris and still cycle cleanly. there's obviously a bit more practise to get the bolt forward each time, but if you are one of the people claiming to "bind" up the bolt when pushing it forward it would undoubtedly mean terrible form and purely a skill issue. you'd have to be forcing the bolt sideways to get it to actually bind instead of just sliding forward, so i put no stock in retards who complain about the action on the scouts. they're excellent guns and insanely accurate rifles. honestly i think a good deal of it is sour grapes from poorfags who bought something like a Mossberg MVP and feel bad about it.
>>
>>61477231
It's the only Mauser action rifle I have, so I wouldn't know. I do occasionally have the bolt bind on me when I'm shooting off a rest, but it's not like it completely jams up or anything. It's just kind of unpleasant and rough. It's far from unusable and the cool features of the gun more than make up for it
>>
>>61477286
I have an older Remington 700 and the bolt has play when it's pulled all the way to the rear, it's fairly normal for most guns to have. About the only guns you don't find that on are precision rifles, custom rifles, and some Tikkas and Sakos because a smooth bolt is sort of their claim to fame. The bolts on those are machined with very tight tolerances, but they will bind easily from ice or sand, and they require more frequent lubing to prevent wear that can develop "slop" too. Everything's a trade off. If I bought a gun purely for hunting 2-3 times a year and nothing else I'd probably get a Sako. But I use mine way more and like that an older 700, or a newer Scout, can be used heavily without issues.
>>
>>61477351
>it's fairly normal for most guns to have
Oh yeah, I know. I'm just a bit biased because my other new-production bolt guns are a Steyr Scout, an RPR, and a CZ455, all of which have extremely nice bolt throws. I do have a couple of milsurp boltguns too though, so I know how bad it can get

Come on now. You know they still had to hire Germans to translate the blueprints into spicalese and build all of the tooling and machinery.

Mayans and Incans built massive temples without any formal units of measurement or written system for planning or blueprints. Mexicans are natural builders, it's in their DNA. Much like dwarves are born to mine, elves to impart wisdom, and goblins to terrorize, Mexicans are innately crafty people who love to construct things. Just look at the elaborate subterranean tunnel networks they have crossing the border for smuggling stuff.

This suggests they didn't build them.

Do g36s/sl8s have tight tolerances? Can any anon can attest to their reliability in adverse conditions? I've only held a g36 at taccom last year and honest to god that thing had to be like 4 pounds
