gen 5 glocks are trash. G43x came with fucked up recoil spring assembly and there is no recall, just a voluntary upgrade new one that supposedly fixes the offset light primer strikes.

Gen 3 glock was the best and by extension the gen 3 clones like shadow systems or PSA are better.

Post covid Glock quality control is PSA tier anyway, should i look at gen 1 g17 re-release or gen 3?

I think I created the perfect handgun. I think I'm done with /hg/ now. That is until something else pops in my head.

>>61473008
You should buy a Beretta PX4 Compact
>>
>>61473010
i like those. I feel it runs in a similar aesthetic vein as the gen 1 g17
>>
>>61473010
can you even see the irons? I dont mean is it possible. I mean are they usable
>>
>>61473026
see if you can shoot one first, if you can tolerate some of the downsides of the pistol it does everything else well. I was joking but once modernized with a short reset trigger bar it's a nice gun

>>61473047
they're usable as a backup, it's lower 1/3
>>
>>61473047
I can't on mine because the front sight fell off due to Gallatin not being able to cut a front sight dovetail properly and LTT not being willing to replace the front sight on "their" slide, but it's nominally like a lower-third cowitness.
>>
>>61473080
rip, I remember you. Did you ever get that sorted with a shim? I'm pretty sure the supplier for the sights is Dawson Precision, they can get you sorted with something custom

even an oversized for the dovetail sight
>>
>>61473093
Someday, when LTT gets Gen1-4 SCDs back in stock, I'll buy a replacement front sight and a TJiaB and sort it out myself—and make sure to stake the shit out of it to make sure it doesn't do it again. It's not a high priority since it is, after all, a backup sight that I literally didn't even notice was missing until I got back from the range.

Slimline glocks aren't representative of gen 5 glocks, obviously, but what's this about? I was just getting ready to trash mine
>>
>>61473435
you're right its shit. But so is glock gen 5 QC since covid. I trust a shitty gen 3 clone more than gen 5 now.

That's why I am considering a gen 3 glock or the gen 1 glock reproduction using gen 3 parts for the RSA and barrel

since 2022 or maybe earlier the slim line had troubles getting back into battery leading to off center light primer strikes.

Only this month glock silently fixed the recoil spring assembly and started sending out the new revision for those who asked for it.

There are other major issues such as the ambi slide stops that made quality aftermarket magpul mags unreliable in gen 5 while very reliable in gen 3. Perhaps deliberately to sell more OEM mags because front serration hype won't last forever and they have to squeeze money
>>
>>61473477
I had posted blue bunny girls and this is how you repay me?

With the Colt 2000? I will not let this general fall to cz shills
>>
>>61473492
Great to know, yeah the slimlines have that issue in general, it's why the barrel hood has a ramp on the top of it (doesn't fix the issue). Honestly the fact that more people don't talk about it reveals how few people actually shoot their guns.
>>
>>61473506
reddit especially seems to love these guns and will blame ammo, limpwristing, etc. But the offcenter primer strikes are a dead giveaway. glock let it be a major problem for a long time and hasn't announced anything yet despite having the solution ready.
>>

Because CZ's are 1) good, reliable and cheap guns with years of service in dozens and dozens of police, military and security agencies all around the world. This is what they liked about it.
2) Newer models are quite overpriced, competition oriented and favoured by new shooters who post cringe prictures about themselves into internet. Therefore /k/ now hates the gun. Because it's popular amongst the "unwashed masses".

Are there any go to captured guide rods for 92s
>>
>>61476356
Only for the full-size there is an aftermarket one. DPM makes them, they’re a company in Greece so you have to buy from resellers on eBay, there is a kike and some dude in America doing it, don’t buy from the kike since you’re shipping from Israel. There’s tunable spring rate versions and the captured spring version that’s not configurable, you want the captured one.

I don’t think it’s worth it unless it’s a .40 where I believe the springs help.

Why do you want a captured spring?

Hey I'm thinking of going to a gun store today to try out different cz handguns, I want to try out the p01 but literally no store has one in person is the sp01 that different in terms of grip or should I try out the 75 compact tomorrow?
>>
>>61474659
The barrel is an insert. It's partially why the front is a separate piece, though for how much they charge you'd think they could figure it out for fucking aluminum.
No idea if they'll ever update it or just keep taking trips to hollywood to get it featured in movies.

>>61476539
Both the SP-01 and 75B compact are STEEL framed. P-01 has an aluminum frame.
But past weight, they should be similar ergonomically. Maybe some differences in the grip panels, but you'll probably change them at some point anyway. 75B might still have a shorter slide release but they're supposedly switching them to the longer variant that's on the SP-01/P-01. If they somehow have a PCR, that would be closer.

>>
>what 357 should you purchase
If you wanna get something inexpensive, consider a Charter Arms. They make several 357 models i think, and they're great. Even though the trigger is crunchier than a stock sp101 or some SW, the Charter Arms performs extremely well in reliability, much like the Ruger. The Charter Arms is better than the Taurus, or anything from Turkey/China/whatever in the price range. And the parts are muy obtanium.
Seriously check out the Mag Pug 357 for your quickdraw needs. I'd rather have a k6 or chiappa rhino, but they're 3x the price

bros i have like 2 thousand dollars i can reasonably spend on a gun. I was laid off and i got a fucking absurd severance package, including half a year of continued paychecks, cash payout for my capped vacation i didn't take, any bonuses i will not be there for, and a direct deposit for all the medical insurance i won't get to collect.
Its a ton of money.
To resist blowing it all off, i've decided to only limit myself to blowing off 5k of it.

LTT 92 Elite from LTT, it’ll have a trigger job already, I would definitely go RDO with an EPS plate. 407K will fit on the EPS plate if you’re cheap but the EPS is a nice optic, get the stripped down model with no solar panel. If you really want to splurge you can get Jonah’s scepter in the staff pick section

https://langdontactical.com/92-elite-ltt-with-rdo-slide/

I would carry a 92 daily, full-size or compact, but my PX4 compact is much more comfortable and also my job doesn’t allow guns so smaller is better but I won’t compromise on a truly small gun.

The vertec grip of the 92XP does not feel like the FS92 and the wrap around grip they provide does not replicate the original FS92 grip. The frame safety is in an inconvenient spot at least of my grip technique. I actually like the Vertec grip sometimes and the 92XP felt off. The 92XP I bought had the slim safety which was not big enough to rest my thumb on like a 1911 or USP, so it was just in the way and fucking annoying. I absolutely hate the cock sucker Italian sport shooters that dictated the 92XP design. If it was just a steel frame M9A1 or Vertec with a slide safety it would have been a knock out of the park. Its not. Just thinking about it makes me angry.

Sexy gun though.
>>
>>61478642

I mildly to moderately regret selling my Gen 4 G17, it was a very good Lock. I was poor and I needed cash fast to afford dating hot thots, and I sold it at a Circle K.

Who gives a fuck? You're only going to shoot it at the range, carrying a full size 45 is retarded and you're lying to yourself if you think you will. https://www.matrixprecisionparts.com/product/revenant-arms-parts-to-convert-dak-p226-p228-or-p229-to-da-sa/
There it is. I have NOT used this but it looks convenient to buy everything together. They appear not to be Sig brand parts. You can try to source your own kit using this as a shopping list, when I did mine I shopped around and made batch orders for a few parts here and there, and even after multiple shipping fees it was cheaper than buying everything from one place. That was before this kit was available.

If you mean to convert 9mmFX to 9x19 then that's simple, you just need a new barrel ($145 on eBay), a new recoil spring if it's not already braided orange, and a new extractor (probably "short") to match your gun. If your locking block has a feed ramp tack welded to it, you will need to replace a locking block as well ($50).

lolver bros, do I get the 627 (shoots 8 times) or the Ruger hueg GP-100 Match Champion? I would bet the 627 in the screenshot has a better trigger, but not sure that it would be a better shooter. Anyone have experience with both?
>>
>>61480125
Why would it not be the better shooter if it has a better trigger and a cylinder that holds enough ammo to be compatible with default ICORE stage designs? You can get fiber optic front sights for it.
>>
>>61480125
I like Ruger but these days you may as well go with S&W unless there's something that you specifically want and/or want to avoid. The bog standard GP100 is going for as much as my dad paid for a 629 and SP101s are about $700. I got a rare variant NIB GP100 during the Feinsteining and still only paid like $530 OTD. Ammo is relatively scarce and expensive too, I never would've dreamed that .38spc would cost more than .380acp.

What's the trigger aftermarket like for the Gen 4 these days? I have no idea what I'm doing in that space, only experience I have was with a Johnny Glock in a 17. Liked the break, but thought the wall was kind of overwhelming. Would prefer something closer to a VP9/Canik if at all possible.

I went to the range last Saturday and walking in from the parking lot I could hear rapid 5-strings and thought I'd see the same thing.

Good to know there's actually people that train and actually get good in my area.

I can get to a ~0.18 to 0.20 split time but my recoil management leaves some to be desired. I've started watching Ben Stoeger a bit and I was going about shooting wrong, you can't do what you do slow, fast. You have to do fast differently than you do slow.

Wonder how they were weaving it. Might take quite some time to emulate, though I wonder if they were just using craft store nylon "silky" string with loose thread like pic related. How the hell they got it flat I can't begin to imagine. Maybe they simply ironed it after weaving...or maybe they ran it under an iron before weaving. Hard to say. Almost reminds me of the strands inside paracord but each string was flattened...

probably the sigger but just go shoot some and find out for yourself. They all kind of suck to shoot, so dont just shoot a hellkitty and then think it blows and buy a lcp or something. The one saving grace with the p365 if you can realize your mistake of buying the tiny ass baby gun and then give sig some more money and get a larger frame version you might be able to actually do something useful with

Everyone is so used to glock mags working in everything else that they're shook that is the only innovation glock could figure out after sitting on their position for so long.
They could've forced a singular optic mount pattern and you bet your ass every optic manufacturer would've been out with that pattern in a hurry.

There is some small hope that CZ is reviving the rami: da/sa subcompact this summer. But who knows when it's actually showing up to market since they did that with the Shadow 2 compact last summer and it's only just now showing up in the wild.

Just put this Dan Wesson model 15 on layaway. Fucking loved that trigger, and it looks like it was made yesterday, not in the 70s. Wanted a DW for forever and finally got it since I sold my S&W 19-9 to a buddy. Got any good leather holster recommendations?

Del Taco fries are usually mushy yeah, but when they get em crisped up they're gooood. Their hamburgers are secretly great too, or were, I haven't gotten one in awhile. Mainly just ridiculously expensive, like their "epic" burritos cost as much as the ones from local Mexican holes but are only 60% as big

does anyone actually own a platypus or just post about it?

If so, is it reliable with magpul mags or just OEM glock?

Why are you cock suckers obsessed with using cheap 3rd party magazines

Do you buy a sports car and put 87 octane in it despite the manual stating 92 only?
>>
>>61481652
magpul is perfectly reliable. Any complaints about their reliability has been in gen 5 glocks due to their weird design choices with the ambi slide stop
>>
>>61481659
NTA but aren't Glock mags $20? Unless you are trying to stockpile like 20 mags at once (and of all the shit you don't need, you don't need 20 mags the most) the savings is negligible. This isn't like H&K where the OEM mag is $50+. Just get the OEM mag.

If you want 140mm or 170mm extendos, there's literally no factory option (despite the 34 literally having been designed to fit in the Production box), and the 24- and 33-round mags are closer to $30 (again, on sale)

thank your for the awesome advice for a first time buyer. I went all over town to various gun stores trying out all the pistols you guys recommended until it came to a close competition between the Sig P320 and the CZ-75. I decided on the Sig because the CZ's grip felt a little small in my hands compared to the 320. I took it to my buddy's range wanted to show off my first ever shot groups with a pistol.

The Remington would be good for use with conversion cylinders given how easy it is to remove the cylinder compared to Colts. But if I had to pick a revolver strictly for cap and ball I'd go with the Walker just because it's cool as fuck and massive.

Except Magpul mags aren't reliable
Most of my malfunctions I have at the range are because of Glock pmags or ammo. Even now I'm getting the slide to lock on a pmag with rounds still in it. They're perfectly fine for beating on but I'm not carrying with them. This is some 'juss as gud' bs.
>>
Going camping soon, bought a barely used glock 20. I'm really not in the mood to buy a whole new barrel for it to shoot hard cast, and with new zoomer projectiles and loads I'm not sure if hard cast is even necessary anymore. Yes I know fudd forums say you can shoot properly lubricated hard cast projectiles in factory glock barrels, but I'm not going to regardless.

Buffalo bore is big faggot, so I'm looking at Underwood ammo right now but I can't decide what the better choice is

180gr FMJ flat nose
>roughly $1 per round
>1300 fps at muzzle
>676 ft/lbs muzzle energy

150gr philips head
>roughly $2.50 per round
>1425 fps at muzzle
>676 ft/lbs muzzle energy

what I imagine the more expensive meme shit will do is offer slightly less recoil, but idk if the meme effects of the phillips head are even real or if it's *any* better than a plain fmj projectile
>>
>>61483198
Just buy the cheapest hardcast thats pushing good velocities. Paul Harrel is right about hyper ammo and its only worthwhile to look into meme bullets if you already reload. I bet that Not!Nato fmj 9mm that Winchester started selling would do just fine too.

ok, seems pretty nice and adjustable. what about the leg leash? doesn't that ride up on ya nuts or something under a lot of movement?
>>
>>61484890
Leg leash isn’t necessary if your pants are tight with the gun and keep the holster in place and your retention isn’t stiff as fuck. But I always wear it, I tied it loose but since it’s tied and doesn’t stretch it’ll anchor the holster in a draw, the point of it is that the holster doesn’t move with the gun like other inner belt systems

I don't think we have a good perspective on what firearms cost over there so it's hard to say if that's good or not. I know prices can vary dramatically compared to the US, but in the US that's not awful.

>>61484890
Your legs are probably tapered so it's only really an issue with it falling down. If you have a thigh gap (female) then put it above the thickest part and that won't be a problem. uwu or something
