Tested the suppressor gas setting and it seems to work as intended; turns the gun into a straight pull bolt action w/ no suppressor. My current theory is that the extractor somehow slipped off the rim, either because the ejector/extractor springs were stiff from the factory, or possibly I over-lubed the BCG initially and that caused it.

Things don't exist in a vacuum and the end user needs to decide for themselves what features they care about over others. MAWL is pretty good for a short gun that's only ever used at night because it doesn't take up as much rail space since it's side mounted and the ergos are pretty good. Both the raid and ngal have small form factors so they make living with the gun outside of night time use pretty easy. The raid gives a lot more features which someone may or may not care about and it has a center bore laser which is really nice. The NGAL A1 is the most waterproof of the bunch which again might matter to you or might not. If you live in Arizona it probably doesn't matter. If you live in Florida it might be a requirement. On top of that the laser market isn't the most accessible or affordable thing in the world and someone might only have a few limited options and actually care about being able to get warranty work. While there are some options that are plain objectively better there is a threshold where once met the end user needs to decide which of the differentiating features matter most to them. This is a recurring theme across life, not just firearms, that a lot of people can't seem to wrap their heads around for whatever reason.

The Raid is also center bore which is cool. How much does that actually matter? Idk. Most NVDs are going to run out of usable range way before the LAMs will. According to A2 the NGAL is just an updated PEQ15 and if you're starting from scratch the Raid is a better option because it is "future proof" with it's features. Everyone on here that I've talked to with both or who has used both has said they prefer the Raid.
