I'm having trouble with a new bolt/BCG and trying to diagnose if it's an undergassing issue or something else fucked up with the bolt. It's showing signs of being undergassed, but after some shots it will completely fail to leave battery, with the case still chambered and the extractor still hooked around the rim. I need to manually extract the round with some force, I even needed to mortar it once. Just seems weird to me. Is it normal for an "un-cycled" fired round to be stuck pretty hard in the chamber? Makes me think there's some other tolerance issue. The bolt passed a GO-NOGO gage headspace test. I also remounted the barrel and the FSB since the last time I shot it so unfortunately I can't single out just the new BCG. I'm heading back out tomorrow with the old bolt and some other gear to troubleshoot, but I'm looking for any advice on problems to check out in the shop tonight. Going to scope the gas port and double-check the headspace.
