What is .22 Magnum good for?
>>61494223absolutely nothing
Being marginally better than 22LR in ways that don't really matter while still suffering most of the inherent drawbacks of 22LR
>>61494223Making 5.7 fanboys seethe>>61494293.22 Magnum and Peace sounds more sophisticated
>>61494223being cooler than the other 12-year-olds at camp>>61494351and all that while being significantly worse than .22LR in ways that do matter: it's a lot more expensive, and it's a lot louder.

>>61494659>dag nab gol darn foxes at mah chikkenz again!
>>61494659wouldn't .22LR be better against varmints
>>61494942Not him but why would you think that?
>>61494705>possum fetishist
>>61494223Fuckin ya muddah
>>61494989I was told .22 WMR is overkill for varmints like squirrels because it makes them explode
>>61495079What the fuck are squirrels doing to your chickens?
>>61494293GOOD GOD Y'ALL
>>61495126>if you shoot someone they wil die>NUH UH
>>61495079Varmint just means pest animal and could mean something like a coyote that would warrant an intermediate cartridge like .223. .22WMR will not make a squirrel explode, as has been said by other people earlier ITT there's not a huge functional difference between it and .22LR, the only practical difference will be that .22WMR has a better selection of bullet types for actually hunting. .22LR is generally designed to be frangible to lessen stress on metal targets and such since it's pretty much just a practice round. Not to say that you can't find X bullet type in .22LR but in my experience .22WMR is better in that way and more popular for hunting because of that.
>>61495079So explode them, what's the problem?
>>61494293GOOD GOD YALL
>>61494223Mogging 5.7
>>61495163It's okay. You didn't get the reference, zoomie.
>>61494223Ratshot. Holds almost twice as much shot as .22LR. Good for blasting carpenter bees.
>>61494293came to say this. good god yall huhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh na nana na na na naaaaaaaaaa nana naaaaaaaa

>>61494223Killing midgets.
I've been thinking of getting one for livestock. I shoot a couple old sheep a week we keep aside for dog tuckers and rarely cattle which might have a broken leg or something. .22lr does this job fine most of the time but you'd be surprised an old ram who's been headbutting shit all his life. I've seen .22lr deflect off their foreheads or just knock them down without penetrating and they'll jump right up and keep grazing with zero fucks given if you aren't quick with the knife. My mate use a .177hmr on those big ugly rams but .22 mag I figure would do the job
>>61495776I don't think this is particularly relevant but sure, I'll bite.>Go to luckygunner>2k .22WMR only $40 more than 1k #8 birdshot
>>61495776Fictional.Not sure what it is about .22mag which makes you soys seethe so hard, all I can say is get mogged harder you fucking nerd.
>>61495770Is that Rice President Andrew Yang?
>>61494223Ya I love the p90.
>wanted .22 Mag conversion cylinder for my Heritage Rough Rider>got a green cylinder so I wouldn't get it confused with the .22LR cylinder>was playing Cyberpunk 2077 at the time>tried to made it look like a gangoon ghetto blasterDidn't really work
>>61494223plonking
>>61496110I mean, props to you, you got about as close as anyone could expect on a SAA base to getting there.
>>61494223It has roughly .380 ACP energy levels out of a Single Six or Super Wrangler. Not great, but it definitely beats .22LR if you need to take coyote sized targets or somehow end up using a 5.5" barreled rimfire revolver for home defense.
>>61494223I've dropped deer on the spot with a 22wmr rifle. Super underrated round
In some countries there are a lot fewer restrictions on rimfire. For example, it's basically the strongest cartridge you can have in a semi auto in the UK.
>>61496789Seriously?
>>61497327Yeah, there are a few bongs with CMR-30s and .22mag ARs, and they have no mag limits and over-the-counter suppressors.Obviously this is only because the "practical shooting" scene is so small that no politician has noticed it yet. As soon as an MP is sent a video of a CMR being shot legally in the UK it's all over.Basically everyone thinks they're already banned, kind of like Kiwis thought machine guns were banned. So the moment it's discovered they aren't banned, they will be banned.
>>61494223It's the most powerful handgun cartridge in the world
>>61494293Uhh!
>>61494223a rifle for wingsuit paratroops
>>61495092THEY GET HORNY THIS TIME OF YEAR
>>61494223Being an absolutely based parent case, and also an excellent, efficient small game cartridge.I wish someone made a .204/5mm based on it.
>>61496110Needs some silly printed barrel shroud. Something blocky. Think Dan Wesson slabside with far too many superfluous (wannabe starwars) propmaker greebles glued on.
I found it good for dispatching trapped small/medium sized game. Shoots flat enough, and modern 22s are getting easy conversion kits to mag so its more of a why not. Its not bad for what it does.
>>61495606WTF anon, you say this and 22plinkster decides to make yet ANOTHER carpenter bee video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDUJpafoeGE>captcha: GAY0T
I like my .22 Magnum derringer, it's loud, but it can fit in my prison wallet
>>61496110I saw a guy on youtube or I think /hg/ have exactly that. idk where you get that kind of crap because if you ask for it you're suddenly every gubernment agency on the planet radiating brighter than a dying star.
>the only rimfire cartridge that reliably expands with certain loads
>>61494223Man, your numbers answered your question
The boomers at work shill this shit religiously and so do I.
