>blinds your drone>nothing personnel, ukrokid Why hasn't Russia deployed this guy?
Probably never even worked, just like any other puccian wunderwaffe
>>61497878Obsolete tech. These days you achieve the same output power with a handheld system.
>>61497878It probably doesn't work
>>61497878What do you think it does Ragnesh ?
>>61497878kek I thought this was a thread about tos explosions blinding thermals
>>61497929lol
>>61497929Kek
>>61497929same kek
>>61497929Same lmao
>>61497929Thank God I wasnt the only one kek. Imagined the Ukrainian drone operator with HDR enabled getting blinded.
>>61497929Real.
>>61497929Haha it do be like that sometimes
>>61497929damn, good one.
>>61497878the most expensive laser pointer
>>61497929
because it required like 50libs of synthetic ruby
>>61497929We haven't had a good one for a while now ;_; they always go pop so nicely
>deployedit was deployed the same way Armata is deployed
>>61497878It requires line of sight to operate. That means it has to get close to its targets, close enough to see the whites of their eyes.
>>61498677It had sensor kills at 10km and Ukraine is largely flat, so
>>61497878Embezzlement and graft project, its already served its purpose and was very effective. Now they can scrap it and sell the metal to China, North Korea and Cuba if the brothers need some more money.
>>61497894according to russian propaganda it can burn optics up to 10km. Applying the cope correction of 0.3 we get 3 km of burning optic range. no way you are getting that on a handheld today.if you think about it you do get an entire t-72 engine to power the laser
>>61498772>It had sensor kills at 10km and Ukraine is largely flat, soHighly believable trustworthy source I am sure.
>>615022973km is nothing these days. Modern lasers have around 20 times the electrical efficiency of the lasers used in that system and modern batteries have over 5 times the power density.
>>61497878>chemical laser powered by hydrofluoric acid>get hit by rpgimagine the sme-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
war crime ?
>>61497878Russians being both cruel and desperate, I'm surprised they haven't deployed it in an anti-personnel role. What better way to repel an assault than by blinding everyone?
>>61502297>according to russian propagandaStopped reading there, why do you even bother?
>>61498506I apologize anon I figured you were full of shit but no while shops had product to put on their shelves the Soviets were shoveling a hundred plus pounds of synthetic ruby towards a weapon system.
>>61502297>no way you are getting that on a handheld today.>he doesn't know about our guy https://youtube.com/watch?v=IzUoe-9bKa0
>>61497929What the hell is a tos explosion?
>>61504322lurkmoar newfag
>>61504322https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpbJkgzVgK8
>>61497929Thumbnail got me too
>>61504322you know those scifi implosion grenades? a fully loaded TOS going up is kinda like that
>>61497878>laser is generated by a 66-pound (30 kg) artificial ruby crystal>EEZ NO PICKLE PEE! EEZ NO SHOOPES MAH WHOOPES!
>>61504152you can strap 3 projectors and a focus lens toghter to make a "laser", but now you have to deal with the focal point. This means that the range of the thing is very limited and it's not going to burn optics or sensors.that tank had an entire t-72 engine avaiable to power itself, 580kW. Sure it was sovshit, but that is going to be enough to melt glass and sensors. The reason why handheld high power lasers are not feasible is due to the weight of the lenses, the cooling, the gas flow required and the battery required to power them (if you don't need to recharge the battery then these become less of a problem but still no)
>>61505014>that tank had an entire t-72 engine avaiable to power itself, 580kWyeah but ruby lasers have an electrical efficiency of about 3%
>>61505065Source?
>>61506823https://pubs.aip.org/aip/jap/article-abstract/38/10/4051/3297/Power-Output-and-Efficiency-of-Continuous-RubyBasic science history you should have learned in 6th grade's mention of the first lasers. The chromium ions ruin it.
>>61497878>Why hasn't Russia deployed this guy?Because like all Russia wunderwaffen, only two were made, one was junked, the other is in Museum Of Soviet Glory and missing the critical part.
>>61506846The lasers on Szhatie aren't continuous, my anonigga, they're pulsed.
>>61503172Holy shit. That's actually a war crime.
>>61510015It isn't
It’s so funny how much hype this gets when the amount of information on it is so incredibly low. It amounts to a single source claiming that test results claim it could do xyz but the actual documents haven’t been released and almost all the information on how it works had never been released. It could be a fucking mock-up or pathfinder for all we know because the internals are unknown and there is only one model extant and probably ever “built”. Fun fact: even the synthetic rubies thing is actually just educated speculation. The only thing we do know is that it would have been, if real, a chemical laser
>>61505014>but now you have to deal with the focal pointOh man, too bad we never figured out how to adjust that, like with binoculars and scopes and cameras.
