Featuring a short stroke piston, and a FAL type receiver arrangement.
However, the AK bolt and carrier system already is clearly developed.

A second pattern of the 'AK-46'.
Transitioned to using a one piece upper receiver. Which in hindsight would have been a much better idea and put the AK far ahead of its time.
Unsure if it had moved to using the traditional long-stroke piston mechanism yet.

Bulkin's 'AB-46', which while apparently a bad gun with an unreliable operating mechanism, was the actual material that inspired the final pattern of the AK-47.
To save on money and make production more efficient, and make his gun cheaper and more appealing to judges, Kalashnikov re-engineered his AK action, to fit within this 'trench' style reciever system, derived from the 'AB-46'. Fitting his excellent operating mechanism within the general shell.

Is that .223 or .300? The barrel looks like the .300 model. As silly as the .300 looks with the fat barrel, man I'm tempted but one one seems to review (or get paid to shill) them. It'd be silenced of course, but not having any numbers or even experience with how it sounds and runs silenced, it's a hard sell.
>>
>>61582272
It's just an AK with a body kit.
Good if you didn't have one, but just buy a SAG chassis or one of those TWS railed covers if you need picatinny on your AK.

I've got the perfect caliber for your interesting intermediates right here. Shoots an 85gr faster than 5.56 77gr, same blistic coefficient. Matches 7.62 m80 trajectory, same bolt face only needs a barrel swap. Germans planned to replace 7.92x33 with a 6mm intermediate after the war.

>>
>>61583093
If we're doing that, the Russians actually spent a long time studying 5.6mm and 6.5mm caliber intermediates when developing their M43 cartridge.
Federov, the maker of the Federov automatic rifle, really pushed hard for a 6.5 mm cartridge.
It was mostly just economics that got us the 7.62x39
Reusing the same barrel blanks as the Mosin and SMGs in service was seen a priority.

A 5.6x39 cartridge in 1943 would have been insane, though.
Light years ahead of time.

I know it'd be closer to .220 Russian than the later 5.45, but even still it'd have been a massive improvement over the OTL M43.
And bullet designs can be fixed and made more aerodynamic far more easily than calibers being changed.

Not intermediate, but Federov did have a 6.5 mm full power battle rifle cartridge for that gun he wanted to use.
Basically identical to 6.5 Creedmore. 130gr at 2800FPS.

mine is indeed a .300
no idea how it performs suppressed, never tried it with a can and only put supers through it anyway
>>
>>61583348
Damn. But it's at least reliable? If so there's at least one data point I haven't gotten until now; no one seems to own a .300 mini. It seems silly to silence it but damn every time I pick up a mini at the gun store it feels so short and handy, like a really good hunting gun even though I do own an AR. What's the accuracy like? I know you're using a dot and magnifier instead of a big ass scope but still, more data more better.
>>
>>61583386
it works as well as you'd expect for a $1k MSRP firearm, no issues with feeding rounds or falling apart. the mags will be very stiff if they're brand new but firing a box of ammo through them will smooth them out fast.
the accuracy at magnifier ranges gets a little wonky, but I think it's mostly due to my choice of 150gr ammo. when these run dry I'm going to try 110gr and expect that the added velocity will shrink the grouping a fair deal.

I mean yeah that’s pretty normal for a roller delayed gun, some will cycle that stuff, a lot won’t.
>>
>>61589680
And I still have one cut up in pieces waiting to be built. IDK why I bought a kit instead of a Marcolmar or whichever the other company is that makes them but I was afraid original parts would dry up before I had $1k to grab one pre-built (and that the color of the paint might be off). Interesting design.

It's a Taurus ct9-g2. They're cheap as shit in the states since nobody wants them. Taurus stopped importing them over a decade ago when they lost out on the PCC craze and didn't import a pistol version. Most of the original ten rounder mags are all broken. The plastic caps on the mags are brittle and all shattered from just age. Because of all of that, think I got it for $199 originally. Guns without working mags and nowhere to obtain original mags are cheap.

Can convert them with a lot of AR parts and AK stock or AK stock adapter. All the conversion parts are just take off USA made parts from AKs and ARs from parts I had laying around. Can open up and modify magwell to take cz26 mags and those are only $5 a pop.
>>
>>61595715
Huh that's cool as shit, had no idea.
I don't remember seeing them before, even as a kid(turning 30 this year fuck me).
>>
>>61595741
Two years ago they could be found with a little effort. Apparently these are unobtanium now. Only found two on fuddbroker for $650-700 unconverted. Couldn't even find one on several states firearms sites. It's a $199-299 gun and that's it. Fun as tits, but takes a lot of time and measurement to convert. Only get them if they're cheap.
>>
>>61596028
thanks for the advice anon, if I went that route I'd probably just get a scorpion anyways for a smallplatform to suppress.
But if I ever find one for like 275-350 I might snag it.
>>

>>

>>
>>61586307
>>61586446
It's actually a SL6, the SL7 is in 7,62x51.
>>
>>61595715
For that price I'm almost tempted to get one over a Hi-Point. But having to make mags work would be silly. As well as needing to thread the barrel somehow. But I wonder if I couldn't just make some replacement baseplates; I'm pretty handy if I have the need to be.
>>
>>61596028
>>61597095
fuck. i hate when guns with zero parts availability and a severe lack of a specific part that's often missing/broken get arbitrarily decided as "the new hot shit" randomly.
>>
>>61597106
I have no idea why it's $650+ now. I don't see any osy shilling them. I see Ian did a forgotten weapons video on them a few years back. It's really not that great and if it breaks, not going to find parts for it since it's been discontinued for over ten years. At $199-299 they're fun and make sense as just something to sling around until it breaks.
>>
>>61592055
Get the extended charging and the rail adapter for the bottom. Worth upgrades before Beretta decides to arbitrarily discontinue those
>>
>>61596194
I was more of a cx4 person than an mp5 person. Kusa dying is funny for me because of all the cope from people who over payed and constantly defending that company. They went years telling people ak101 from psa would be worthless as soon as the kusa 101 would come out. Then theres the micro9.
