Why the hell does my swiss army knife have no nail file or hook? (i don’t care about the scissors). This was 92 australian dollars.

>Why the hell does my swiss army knife have no nail file or hook?
because you bought one without a nail file or hook
I'm about to buy a new one to replace my leatherman squirt. can't decide on the swisschamp or handyman, but I'm leaning toward the handyman even though it's more expensive for less tools

You bought the wrong version cunt, put the kettle on for the officers coming to confiscate it. You should have bought the new Australia-legal variant without the blade.

We really should just sell Australia to China. They’re a weak and lost people. Maybe some Chad Chinamen can bring some masculinity back to their country.

I'm just fucking with the guy, but can you believe that we live in a world where some nations are so disgustingly domesticated that it's considered a weapons offence to carry a dinky little Victoranox blade
>>

go to the airport unclaimed items auction and buy a bag of knives for like $30 anon. you'll get about 20 namebrand and offbrand pocket knives, leathermen, switchblades, etc
>>

You're both different flavours of bong to me. But in all seriousness I just happened to see this story at the same time as this post, and Australia also has cucked knife laws from what I've been told

>>

Not allowed to carry them in your pocket when out, that's it. Pretty cucked, but not bong cucked.
>>
>>61584738
I can literally wear a gun in my waist band if I want and not have to tell anybody and if someone tries to knife me i can take it out and shoot him until he is dead and then tell the cops this fucker tried to knife me and they'll be like good job buddy and i wont even go to jail.
>>
>>61584738

I mean sure, you can have a pocket knife collection that bongs can't, but what's the point if you can't take them out of the house

The keychain swiss army knife is the only knife I've ever benefited from carrying in a day to day manner that wasn't a full on fixed blade useful for actual work.
>>
swiss army knives and multitools are gay as fuck, the only guys who use them never actually use tools. always pocket protector white collar types.
>nah bro I totally have to manually stitch together pieces of leather with my awl regularly.
lmao sure, the only thing anyone ever uses on a multitool is the blade and the pliers. You might as well carry a real knife and a real set of pliers, at least they will actually work instead of being cucked dogshit that can't even break a 1/4" nut loose.
>>
>>61584798
>You might as well carry a real knife and a real set of pliers
>Instead of something convenient you can literally hang off your keychain
Is this bait or are you catastrophically retarded? Also the screwdriver on mine has come in handy more times than I can count. I use it almost any time at the range for making zeroing adjustments and whatnot
>>
>>61584811
pic related is a set of pliers that's infinitely more capable than any multitool pliers. You can find videos of guys breaking up to 1/2" nuts with them.
>screwdriver
okay so get any of the billion pen sized pocket bit drivers. also better than a multitool since you have actual reach and don't have to awkwardly twirl around an off center driver attached to a gangly multitool.
>>
>>61584798
You sound insufferable and desperate to justify some 400 dollar pocket toy, my 20 dollar swiss knife just works for light tasks, I have dedicated tools for serious tasks.
>>

Sounds like a very functional society.
>>
>>61584821
I'm sure those are great, but why switch when I have all those things in one device that already lives in my pocket? I don't know man, hating Swiss army knives just seems like a weird thing to be passionate about, lol. Like the other guy said, they're for light tasks and they get the job done for me

I guess it depends on the culture, in some countries it's some kind of collector's item, in western Europe it's just the knives we carry and we actually use. They're some of the best corkscrews around, the wood saw is perfect, scissors see heavy use, nail file is always nice... and it all fits in your pocket.

Sure the bigger models with tons of tools become kind of useless, but simple ones are perfect.

I carry this when I go hunting, it cost me $10. It has a notch so you can open the skin on the belly without poking guts and getting stomach acid and shit on your meat.
As for the tools you say are so helpful, the bottle opener is shit since there's no leverage, you may as well put the base of the bottle in your shoe and knock it against the wall until the cork comes loose. The can opener is so shit you might just be better off bashing it with a rock, and if you need a dedicated opener to open a bottle then you have failed as a man.

How much of a booze hound are you that you need a dedicated tool in your pocket at all times to open wine bottles? How many times have you needed to open a wine bottle when a regular corkscrew was not immediately available?
And you can still open them with a knife regardless lmao, you just need to stick it and walk the cork out.
also easy to do bottles, pic related.
>>
>>61584982
>The can opener is so shit you might just be better off bashing it with a rock
the best way to open a can without an opener is to grind the top against concrete/asphalt/a flat rock. You pretty quickly abrade the rolled bead away and the lid lifts right out.

You talk shit but if you need leverage, you're a failure of a human being. You literally don't need leverage.

>>61584997
There is no such thing as a "regular corkscrew", Swiss army knives are perfectly fine and some of the most common you'd find.

Today is a public holiday in most of Europe, to commemorate the ceasefire of WWII, and we'll spend most of it sitting by a river, with a bottle of wine, drinking and talking long after the night falls. Swiss army knives will once again save the day.

I have owned pic related for almost 10 years and use it so often (at least 2 or 3 times a week) that sometimes it feels like I am being gaslit by people who ask "what do you need a multitool for?". I've even used the hook several times, for both its intended purpose and just getting simple leverage over thin things that I might need to pull on.

I think the only tool I haven't needed is the awl, but I understand why some would want it.

>>
>>61587752
>awl is too loose to use
wrap it in a washcloth and use a pair of vice grips to squeeze the scales together in the middle, over the central pin, until the awl will lock out tight again. it doesn't take much pressure at all and you can easily overdo it but its a simple fast fix

>How much of a booze hound are you that you need a dedicated tool in your pocket at all times to open wine bottles?
Not that big a boozehound.
People keep forgetting to bring corkscrews. And even when you're at someone's house, they usually don't prepare a corkscrew in advance and it'd take 15 minutes of thrashing around the kitchen to get one out.

I stopped carrying the tinder everyday (I live in the city). The pouch for my SwissChamp is very tight, so I did see some wear on the malleable tinder pretty quickly from taking it in and out all day. I only carry the emergency tinder when I'm innawoods.

>>61598830
It works just as advertised. It's a bit pricey, but I love knowing that I have multiple means of starting a fire and a great tool on my hip if I ever get separated from my gear/camp. There are a few things to keep in mind when using the Firefly (the toothpick replacement ferro rod) and the Fireant (spiral ferro rod) so that you don't break them or wear them down the wrong way. Just watch a couple youtube videos.

But yea, it's nice having 2 emergency ferro rods and tinder always on my hip when innawoods.
