>>61587780I actually thought these were a brilliant SHTF idea, the only issue is battery life. But you can patrol a decent amount of ground and if needed pick them up and carry them across your back over difficult terrain. It's strange soldiers don't use bikes, ebikes, dirtbikes, or motorcycles more often. Like really you're gonna walk around at 3mph and be tired by the time you have to fight? Super inefficient.

Honestly during hilly but roaded rucks, I said to my buddy that we could have some fold-up Micro or Razor scooters for going downhill and then strap them to the back of the sack when we had to walk up.Those big electric ones are fairly "silent" so I could see strapping some all-terrain treaded tires on it and going over trails. The only downside is that they're kinda too heavy to be man-portable so you'd have to ditch and come back. The military doesn't like that, mainly because they have to cover their asses when it comes to inventory check. During wartime that wouldn't matter, but in training it sounds like a nightmare.
