bros I literally cannot decide between these two EDC revolvers. LCR is slightly smaller and lighter, but only carries 5. K6XS is only slightly larger, carries 6, and has way more fucking DRIP. cost is about the same. but given that this is an EDC that has a 97.496% chance of never being needed, do I take on the extra size and weight to have +1 and sexy factor?

anyone have any idea how the K6XS trigger is? I hear the LCR has a great trigger.

I was once asking myself the exact same question, and I went with the LCR. I made the decision based on the fact that the K6S was breaking firing pins at the time and I knew that I would never be interested in shooting .357 through it. I still wouldn't mind a 3" K6S.
>>
I've shot the K6 quite a bit. Buddy even loaned it to me while he was away for work. It is not worth $1k, but stuff rarely is these days. Trigger was fine, grip fine, shooting fine.
I have no insight on the lcr
t. Carries chiefs special semi regularly

the K6XS is a lighter version of the K6S chambered in .38 +P only, no .357, that makes it even harder haha

You shouldn't give money to manufacturers who cuck to the anti gun lawyers by permanently including safety warnings on their guns (e.g. Ruger).
By doing so you are doing a direct disservice not only to yourself but to all future firearm manufacturing.
>>

Oh shit, I didn't realize they made that. That would have made my decision even harder if it was out a few years ago. If I were you, I would go with whatever one you think is the coolest then.

K6S is excellent but really expensive for what it is, I'd just get a 642 and call it done honestly, really hard to beat for the price. You can even go 340PD for the lightest thing possible. I really like factory smith and wesson heavy double action

Dunno about the Ruger but I can say I liked my first Kimber so much I got another. YMMV.

I've always been confused by this. I think the LCR has an atrocious trigger. For sure, dry fire one at a gun store before you order one.

Shell out for the Ruger SP101

Ruger is better quality than Kimber.
But 5 rounds is annoying when capacity is already revolvers weak spot.

>Ruger is better quality than Kimber.
I've never owned a Kimber but every Ruger I've ever owned has been a lemon. Just last week I dry-fired my New Vaquero for the first time in months (it lives in the safe because it rusts the moment you touch it), and the transfer bar fucking snapped off and fell out.

Speaking of try before you buy, how is that T grip? I'm curious about getting one, but I would like to hold one before filling out the ancient order form.
>>
642. Good trigger, no lock. Easy to carry, fun to shoot. Not expensive, tons of grips available. Sights are the only negative, but with proper practice, not a big deal.
>>
>>61908747
Just buy one on ebay. That's what I did. In short, it's worth it

Here's my S&W 642 grip experience:

Factory stock rubber "boot" grips
>too sticky, pulls against fabric as you walk, causes gun to print
>8/10 shooting experience

Flat panel wood grips
>Looks great, doesn't drag against clothes, very easy draw
>Worst shooting experience of my life, 0/10

Thick wooden boot grips made by Altamont
>Mismatched, rough snag points on the back
>Returned without firing

Flat panel wood grips + T-grip
>All the upsides of flat panel wood grips
>6/10 shooting experience - one hundred times better than without the T-grip
>ended up being my sweet spot
>>
>>61907930
Get the K6XS imo. You will never regret it. 6 boolets is a good advantage. Closer to the classic look. Helps you feel mentally connected to the history of .38spl. Imbues power.
The size isn't that much larger desu, it will go anywhere an LCR will go.
t. just bought an LCR and I still want a k6-series. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Love me some .357. Please post a comment or two on yours ..? How happy are on a scale of one to full mast, and if you needed to change one or two things, what would you and how important do you think such mods might be?

I've got an older S&W that I will never get rid of, and the intended use is not EDC but home defense. Apart from plinking .38 all day for fun & practice.

S&W model 649 in .357 with a 3" barrel from a Model 60 retrofitted
