It's not an industry where more people getting into it is only going to make things harder to find and more expensive, it's going to make necessary materials cheaper and even maybe more local giving those working in it more profits and/or requiring less cost. Keep in mind this forum has existed at the very least before 2000. There's a lot of pages to go through and the search is next to useless if there at all. Oh and I recently found one of the guys who pioneered one of the modern innovations for that industry which made it way easier and quicker for all involved is weirdly blacklisted from mention. I ran across something he had made, looked it up, ran across the memorial thread for him which had to pretty please ask at the bottom to make an exception for this time to be able to mention him. Keep in mind this drama around him happened before the forum even existed or most of them had computers, I believe in the late 80s. People were still tiptoeing around his name even in that thread. Bizarre.

In that forum I ran across a gentleman that bred Airedales. Not just any Airedales though. These were super dogs apparently. More trainable than Labradors or German shepherds. Can’t be trained the same way as those herders either. They have to be challenged and most trainers just don’t have the grit to handle the KING OF THE TERRIERS. Also they could lay the smack down on a pig, point and retrieve birds, follow trails better than blood hounds, and probably solve complex algebra. Last post of his I ever read was when his best stud dog RIP’d because it got bit in the belly by a rattlesnake in 105 degree summer heat so logically the only thing left for him to do was grab a bottle of whiskey and mourn the poor creature while it hyperventilated in its kennel (the nearest vet was over an impossible hour drive away you see) but literally every single thread for the better part of the two years I was active on it had him in it talking about how whatever breed or task the OP was discussing would be great for Airedales.
