Those are some of the strangest proofs I have ever seen. 12ga but the choke is .626? That's a super tight choke for 16ga, getting damn near 20ga. And then it says 12/20? Is this some kind of necked-down shotgun?

It has two barrels so it can't be a Drilling. "Drilling" comes from the number three in german. Eins, Zwei, Drei. Drei-Ling = three-barrels. But yeah, it's a combination rifle and blunderbuss. Combination guns were pretty common historically but it was always various combinations of shotgun and rifle barrels. This is the first I've seen that had a blunderbuss barrel.
>>
>>61948361
>Is this some kind of necked-down shotgun?
The "Vena Contracta" Shotgun. You know how people always dreamed about a gun that "carried like a 20ga but shot like a 12ga"? The madlads of the 19th century tried to do literally that: make tapered barrels that accepted a 12ga shell but had 20ga muzzles.

apparently they produced the 1906 colt vest pocket with a 6 inch barrel for a specific european market so it could be legally carried. i only know the guns physically existed as factory guns and have no source behind that claim so take it at face value.

its probably the longest 25 acp barrel ever produced and at the point where the bullet might even be losing velocity due to how fast burning the powder is. the barrels are easily removable but the novelty doesn't seem to be valuable beyond the factory condition of the gun because its just downright a shitty modification so its just a bizarre curiosity

I really like the grip angle. I just wish my Aguila 40gr didn't like sticking against the front of the mag so much. Wee1 Tactical JR-15 now rebranded under GOAT Guns brand after some news sites stirred some shit about its edgy branding. I'm happy it's being made but I'll be honest and say it's neat...but kinda pointless for me. I'd be best off with a dedicated 22 upper to swap out while hunting. IIRC 10/15rd mags available soon.

the korth sky marshall. it's a 9mm luger revolver that doesn't take moon clips, but it has a rail on the side, and an even more bizarre rail behind the cylinder. the cylinder rail is for a proprietary laser attachment they sold alongside the gun that points in line with the bore. it retailed starting at $1000

what confounds me about the design is the rails. i get the laser sight in line with the bore... but if you put anything on the other rail it's going to block the laser. so why not just make the rail in line with the barrel?

well that's the next step. luckily the desert eagle has a pretty high twist rate for .429/.43 bullets, so I'm starting with 300grs and Accurate No. 2 for the powder. The gas port is right at the throat, so if I hit peak pressure fast it should unlock, then maybe the back pressure from the can will blow the gun open.

Horrible resolution then exported in such a way that absolutely fucked everything up, probably in a resolution that doesn't divide nicely, also in shit quality, but that's all I can get so here's as good a screenshot as you can get from the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-7LGXBR_aI

What about failed/rejected prototype magazines? Yeah lemme just make disposable 20rd magazines. IIRC the 20rd aluminum mags were supposed to be pretty much disposable too but they were used again and again and again. Imagine now giving them shittier plastic mags.

>Just prior to their partnership, Bill Ruger had successfully duplicated two Japanese "baby" Nambu pistols in his garage, from a captured Nambu that he acquired from a returning Marine, at the close of World War II.

And yet, it resulted in a 22 with the looks of a Nambu and the grip angle of a Luger and somehow it's good. So good it's been made since 1949 lol.

CJ Hamilton Model 39. 22 short only. 1922-1930. Saw one for the first time for ~$500 recently but that seems like a pretty high price for one. Wait for an in person gun auction and it seems you can pick one up for like $100-200 if not less but they're somewhat rare. Being made so poorly (*according to forum posts) they're uncommon and few give a shit out of a vintage gun bordering on disposable in quality that you might actually shoot the barrel out on lol. I'd pick one up if it were like $50 but it's pretty much a wallhanger you'll shoot very rarely. Maybe you can shoot CBs out of it or something but man cleaning and taking care of a brass barrel sounds like hell either way. I didn't get to look in the barrel to confirm the one I saw was brass though; I just took a pic of the tag and gun (not the pic from above) because it was weird and I didn't put much more thought into looking at it after.

It had weird additions like bit holders (?) or allen key holders too in the grip. Just odd if the design was nothing more than a guy trying to get some attention towards his design/modeling skills. Maybe he was hoping someone would buy the design, IDK.

What about freak silencer designs? An anon said he owned one in a recent thread and I couldn't believe the design of this thing. The "little bird". Baffles act like taps and scrape out the fouling when removed...supposedly.
>>
>>61971449
I doubt it, the idea is cool but anyone with an engineering background could instantly see that
a) the design would be a production nightmare
b) its clearly not functional in the form that they showed
>>
>>61972743
>...supposedly
right. maybe if it were a center-fire suppressor, but for 22lr there is so much shit deposited I have my doubts. clearing the threads any other way will also be practically impossible without ruining them further up the can.
I went with a Sparrow so I could dip it.

there are these product concepts that used to be extremely prevalent on the internet where someone would just design things with zero consideration put into how it would be manufactured and just hope that its "good enough" that someone swoops in and buys the design off of them to "make it work" or that they can generate enough buzz to get a company to greedily front the cost of those things

i remember seeing this shotgun pistol before i knew anything about guns. i thought it would be something i could buy eventually. i didn't know shit from shinola - but that was what the people who designed this picture were trying to do

i think that was how things worked for the baby boomers in the 70s and 80s so they told their kids that was how shit worked, but it stopped being a thing well before gen x became adults. what im talking about is basically what happened to the Pancor Jackhammer. it obviously doesn't work, and won't work - so why go through all of this effort trying to convince people that it's a functional gun ready to be manufactured when the prototypes have glaring flaws that my layman ass can see?
>>
>>61973086
>but that was what the people who designed this picture were trying to do
Really? I thought it was just random art, perhaps from a video game. The shells don't even look like real shotgun shells. What was the backstory implying it was a real gun?

>i think that was how things worked for the baby boomers in the 70s and 80s
People have always been drawing pictures of nonsense guns long before then, like the classic "ray guns" from comic books in the 1950's. That's what I consider this like--fantasy guns that were never really meant to be real--except it was drawn with CG instead of a pen and ink. he Jackhammer is pretty different--that was indeed a real gun that was intended to be produced and sold. Yeah the project failed and the only surviving example is non-functional, but they at least tried to make a working gun and the first two prototypes did work, they just failed during testing, which is the point of building prototypes. The Pancor failed because of business reasons and politics (1986 closing of the machine gun registry).

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/reboot/here-why-you-shouldnt-get-hand-held-dx-12-punisher-shotgun-186667

Looks like it did come from a design company hoping to sell off the concept to a gun manufacturer, putting the cart before the horse it seems

H110 is probably your friend then.. I shoot it out of my snub nose Alaskan in 454 and it builds pressure stupid fast it’s incredibly loud out of a snub nose barrel
>>
>>61977955
H110 is a slow powder for all magnum pistol cartridges excepting the S&W Magnums. Anon's challenge was to maintain high pressure to cycle the gun, but also be subsonic.
Any use of H110 would send the bullet too fast to remain subsonic. His idea of AA2 or similar very fast powder is the best bet. High pressure, low velocity.

No clue. That's a wild looking rifle though. I really like the single slot pic cuts in that. I've seen just a few other guns with rails cut like that, often pistols, and it always looks neat. I think I've seen some revolver barrels with cuts like that for pistol scopes. Wish it were more common.

I didn't notice that--that may be unique to that one because they're supposed to be kits that you install a GSP receiver into and GSPs don't have those cuts in pistol form
