Where the fuck is True Velocity's rifle? They teased it years back but it's been dead since.
This is why i'll support sig. This rifle wasn't beta tested by the public it was tested by the almighty military complex which means its the true bulletproof/teotawki/shtf/military grade rifle
>>
>>61957812
whats the lore behind no forward assist and metal mags and new handguard?
sig retards still dont know how to clearly designate design changes

Only exist cause military officers got bribes.
Sigs only winning contracts cause of M.I.C Coercion between big army brass and sig
In no conceivable world is the sig M17 better than a berrteta 92
In no convivable world where bribery isn't taking place does the Xm program succeed the m4.
Anyone with a pair of function eyes, it should be obvious that corruption is taking place in the awarding of these contracts and it has nothing to do with the merit of the new guns.

they bribed like two dudes and blackmailed the rest

stay mad, spear lt fucks hard

This is the funniest part. What the fuck was the point of those velocity requirements if they're just tossed out later? It's akin to adopting one of those goofy hypervelocity flechette rifles from the ACR trials and then just rechambering it for 5.56 a year or two later.
>>
>>61958029
>70k psi
Source? your ass?
>google 68x51 SAAMI: no mention of 70ksi or 65ksi

It's just clear evidence that 5.56 is the best cartridge ever invented

>>
>>61957812
Bullpup it and get rid of the fucking rear charging handle and I might care. It does not need 2 charging handles ffs, the AR has the handle in the worst place of any rifle ever. Idk why they would go out of their way to retain the worst part of that design.

Bullpups suck and nobody likes them.

Ok kid, I get it you want your rifle to be longer so people think your tiny dick is longer, but shorter rifles are more practical for anyone actually using them in the field.
>>
>>61959505
At 80k:
Bullet deformation/reduced accuracy
Much shorter barrel life

So, sig dropped the pressure "closer to 70k psi." Even at that you can expect a barrel life of 2k-3k rounds.

Straight from sig, not a nothingburger.

If I’m buying a big brown brick of an SBR, I’m buying the better-built one that doubles as sick MW2 LARP.

To fuck over other contestants and then just adopt an AR-10 made by SIG for $10k.
Very simple corruption, nothing else.
>>

Did they ever make a run of these in 6.5 Grendel?

doesn't mean any of that
the only small arms testing i trust is HK
everyone else is fake and gay

is it still true that you can over-insert the magazines on these rifles? seems like a nonstarter to me.

Unknown, and I can’t be bothered to look it up because 7.62 REAL FUCKIN’ NATO is God’s rifle cartridge.
Siggers can seethe and try and cope with their poopoopeepee shart n fart furry round, but they will always remain the overweight trannies of the chad Battle Rifle world.
>>

>Where the fuck is True Velocity's rifle? They teased it years back but it's been dead since.
It most definitely will never see the light of day.
>>
>>61959820
I've been paid to use a mk18. Interestingly the British and other guys I worked with also all used short AR-15s or HK416s.

None of them, thought they had the ability to choose their equipment to a degree, used a bullpup.
>>
>>61958029
60k psi? What do you need 50k psi for, I don’t have 40k psi ask you mother if she has 35k psi!
>>
>>61961501
Not in the slightest.
>>
>>61961510
We already know ammo that spicy seriously reduces the barrel life. And don't give me the "b-but the barrels are totally made from the same material as SpaceX rockets" bullshit.
>>
>>61958000
Karl the cuck has successfully convinced people nobody should ever use forward assists. As for the metal mags, they found out the steel core ammo was causing issues with the plastic mags. And the old hanguards would bend after minimal heat buildup.
>>
>>61964402
The contract explicitly includes the min barrel life (far higher than your asstimation). Opinion discarded.
>>
>>61964476
it set minimum velocity standards and we're not getting those either lol
>>
>>61964476
They never actually specified if that was with the high pressure ammo or not.
>>
>>61961807
That was only with pmags which comes to my origibal conclusion that usgi mags had always been the best
>>
>>61957812
does it still have two separate charging handles for no reason?
>>
>>61957812
>Where the fuck is True Velocity's rifle? They teased it years back but it's been dead since.
Both the other finalists shoved their civvie versions off onto other companies and then they ended up in production hell and it all imploded. Without the military production forming the backbone probably just not worth it to even bother with sadly. I have zero interest in the sigger heavy abomination. The army only cared about the LMG and doesn't give a shit about destroying soldier's bodies with ever more weight so made sense for them but I do care about my body and I can't buy the LMG so nuts to both.
>>
>>61959367
probable SIG bribes. They went from being "literally who?" to supplying all standard issue weapons, plus accessories, plus other weapons for spec ops, all within a few years. Some general will be retiring filthy rich.

Back in 2006, I got a brand new 416D as a PSDfag. There were two MI6 guys in our CQD school bc they were emulating our team. I don’t know what brand it was, but they had Mk18 style AR’s with a monolithic upper IIRC, maybe it was just a free float rail.
>>
>>61965383
Yes.

Honestly i don't care about any of this stuff, i'm still holding out for when coilguns and laser rifles become viable.
>>

Last I heard Textron ditched their rifle due to patent infringements and true velocity going for overseas contracts

that's the colt Canada thing they use, their designation is L119a2. Monolithic. The older l119a1 used a non-ff kac rail, basically same as our mk18 mod0 but the bottom rail is slightly modified

The FN entry was really ugly. But to be honest, they should have done what every early ‘2000s vidya thought was gonna happen and just give everyone short SCAR 17s with a can. Then at least the quality would be acceptable.

Why would they even bother? They made some in the ballistically superior 6.5 Creedmoor.

Either M995 or M855A1 has an exposed penetrator tip that chews up the host rifle's feedramp unless you use a follower that just yeets the round straight into the chamber, so the two aren't mutually exclusive.
