You have these visions of using combined arms to outskill your opponent, but the best players inevitably just turtle up while sending a constant stream of the cheapest infantry to a waypoint where he thinks your base is so you're constantly being harassed while he builds up a tidal wave of armor to wipe you out. The cool shit (capturing structures in his backlines, funneling enemy units into a minefield or artillery killzone) you can set up is never the best way to win; because while you're organizing that, he's already sent 3 waves of militia your way and is queuing up 10 more.
For me it's an Assault Chinook with two Humvees inside with 8 Missile Defenders, 1 Ranger with a Flashbang and 1 Pathfinder

>>61971623There's a mod for Star Wars: Empire at War called Thrawn's Revenge (the same mod team also has one for the Clone Wars and are working on one for the KOTOR era) that I play the shit out of. The single player modes have lots of factions and scenarios, and you control units and land and space battles. There's several different factions that have their own playstyles with different strategies you can do for each. The graphics and UI on the mods are equal or better than the CNC 3 era RTS games and I think they're really fun. IDK if there's multiplayer since I've never tried it.
