>>61982644Yari ashigaru are not the best, just the most cost effective by far. My late game big dick army has naginata samurai as the front line instead. The main thing with yari ashigaru is that they are very weak to arrow fire due to the low armor, and are less versatile since they are less offensive. They are the bread and butter for the early mid game though, where IMO the campaign is really decided.
