Several days ago, Jakub Janovsky posted an image of a destroyed armored vehicle in Ukraine that they were unable to identify. Forbes is now reporting it may be a Ladoga Nuclear Biological Chemical protected VIP transport/command vehicle. There are only a half dozen known examples produced during the cold war for the use of high officials in the event of NBC attack. This, if confirmed, would be the second Ladoga seen deployed, with both coming under attack and damaged or destroyed.

Very unique Russian VTS “Ladoga”, military transport vehicle, targeted by FPV drone on the frontline.

It is known that no more than 4-5 similar machines were produced, including a prototype for testing. The Ladoga was built on the basis of the T-80 tank chassis. Designed to operate in conditions with high levels of radiation, chemical or bacteriological contamination. In Chernobyl it was used for radiation reconnaissance.

Vehicle interior as originally produced. These were never intended for frontline use, or even to be deployed anywhere near a combat zone. The Ladoga were strictly for executive protection during transport from what I've read, or possibly for high ranking officers. One was deployed to Chernobyl after the meltdown.

What exactly makes this particular burnt up slavshit thread worthy? Just cause it's somewhat rare?

It may not be thread worthy, mods will decide I guess, but imo, when there are only five or six known in the world, and Russia may have just lost the second of those half dozen Soviet relics, combined with the fact that it's a highly specialized command vehicle not intended for it's current role or suited for it, and it's own interesting features, made me decide to post about it.

Ukies should capture those vehicles and sell for $$$ to collectors and museums.

Its hard to tell, but if it isnt a Ladoga, my second guess would be a BMO-T (pic), only 10 - 15 of these were produced

Shilka chassis (GM-575) with the turret and roof taken off?
>>
>>61981474
Bro's I'm stumped. It looks like some kind of open topped vehicle with the engine at the back and driver position on the left side. My autism isn't strong enough for this one

looking at the image in the op, there appear to be a large number of view ports on the front with fire coming out of them.

In case it's left in neutral? Fucking ignorant commies!

>BMO-T (pic), only 10 - 15 of these were produced
So they literally lost half of them in Ukraine?
>>
>>61981726
Might also be another converted GM chassis like a 1s91 or 2P25 for the Kub missile system.
Doesn't look long enough to be the GM chassis used for Buk,Tor, or Tunguska
>>
>>61981801
Many such cases.
>>
>>61981536
>only 4 or 5 produced, including the prototype
>One was deployed to Chernobyl after the meltdown, presumably left behind as radioactive scrap
>2 lost in invasion of Ukraine
So there are only one or two of these left in the world?

op here, it's unclear right now. Maybe someone can webm the original telegram video or get more screen shots. Forbes is saying yes, but that doesn't confirm much. The two side by side dome hatches at the top of the front glacis seem very distinctive on the Ladoga but there's what looks like a cage obscuring that part of the vehicle in the images above so can't tell if it has those.

>>61981553
It's incredibly rare and incongruously out of place, it has no reason to be anywhere near Ukie droning range as it's a silly snowflake vehicle that brings zero relevant capabilities to the table. It's kinda like if mobiks got caught tooling around in a Lamborghini LM002 (tl;dr unsuccessful military vehicle tender turned 80's celebrity transport, think Humvee but with the carbureted quad cam V12 from a Countach), it's technically a capable off-roader but come on there's like a billion vehicles in your inventory that are objectively better in whatever you're trying to do.

Anon, this is the loss of the second battle limo. Soon commanders and celebrities might have to ride around the battlefield in a Tigr or a BMP-3 like some sort of dirt-farming peasant.

Anyone knows what the barrel things on the back are for? I believe I've seen them on some photos of soviet tanks with some kind of ancient APS, can't remember which. The claim was that it housed electronics for the radar I believe.

Which barrels? The ones on the rear engine deck are literally drop tanks for additional fuel, while the one at the rear of the crew compartment is compressed O2 for the crew.

Kinda kino
Also begs the question, what the fuck are they doing in Ukraine? All BMPs history already?
>>
what the fuck are the orcs even playing at? why deploy this? this is the absolute last armored vehicle you'd ever deploy. as in, this would only make sense if you'd already lost every single tank, apc, half track, golf cart, bulldozer etc in the entire country and even then it would be retarded. it would make more sense to field a mark v landship than this thing. what the fuck is going on there
>>
>>61981474
so ukies are using biological weapons. this is clearly a war crime, why isn't it being reported? western media bias!
>>
>>61983085
>>61983089
They haven't gotten close to losing everything yet. I will say though it speaks as to how fast they can get vehicles refurbished. Their replacement rate is lower than their loss rate. The need for armored vehicles hasn't decreased. So now they must thrust whatever they can find while they attempt to reactivate whatever rat fucked armor they have left.
People counting their equipment stores are predicting mid 2025 to late 2026 for when they're functionally unable to tap stored units. Personally I believe this conflict will end before that happens, but I also didn't think this conflict would even start after being blue balled back in 2014-15
