been thinking about picking up a 22 pdw ever since I sold my 10/22. ya'll got any recs? because the only thing I've found would be a 22lr conversion kit for a vz61 or glock (which I'd just put into a pdw chassis).

You are limited in how small it can be by the receivers, but with a K grip, a light folding stock like AGP or MI and a short ~5" barrel and handguard you can make it just about as small (though not as narrow) as a vz.61.I hate shooting my vz.61, even with a much improved Sig stock instead of the wire topfolder it's just annoying. Terrible sights right in your eyeball, brass ejects straight up and into your collar, and mine's nowhere near as accurate as my AR. The CSA kits don't have last round hold open anymore either so you don't lose that going to an AR. Also, I had to fit every one of my CSA mags to my receiver, they would not fit and would not lock without removing material. This seems to be not uncommon.

In my experience, suppressed .22LR ARs always seem to sound louder to the shooter than suppressed 10/22s. A lot of noise from the action. I guess on a range (with noise from other shooters) this may not be as big an issue.They do look pretty sexy though. That 9mm is hot!

>>62061987The lux sits around 8 or less usually and comes with irons. The Jaguar is discontinued and would be fucking amazing. Those things are tack drivers. I don't believe any of them come with a fiber front. The scout is a youth gun, has basic irons, threaded barrel, and youth stock. Those sit around 500 or so. Swap the stock with a normal sized 455 stock and you have an adult sized gun.

Classic fun. Neat charging system. I'm only speaking about the ones made in USA, I don't care for any of the Japanese made Winchesters.A modern 10/22 is made with a cast aluminum receiver which has been crudely painted. Ruger's bluing is nowhere as nice as a classic Winchester. Same with their wood stocks. But you get customization and detachable magazines.The 10/22 platform is pretty great. My advice? Buy an aftermarket 10/22 receiver and build one. I like the Brownell's BRN-22/BRN-22R receivers, they are anodized instead of painted and the R-models have a built in 1913 rail.

I have a bunch of waterlogged 22lr from like 5 years ago. The last time I shot it I had like a handful of missfires. Is there anyway to make it safe or fun to shoot?
I designed and 3D printed some adaptor thingies to mount an airsoft scope on my 10/22 the other day. haven't tested it at the range yet. might modify the design a bit so that I can mount the scope even further backI've also been testing some CCI Copper-22 ammo that gets up to a zippy 1850 fps. can't judge how accurate they are yet because red dot and astigmatism don't mix. hence the mount

Was able to go shooting for the first time since my wife and I had our first child. Got my 10/22 out and BRRRRT out some BX-25s with the binary and it functioned perfectly. Popped off a few mags with the MKIV with the new Hogue grips, love 'em. Test fired a relative's Taurus Airweight .38 SPL with a shrouded hammer. I like the gun but .38 would be too much for my wife, might have to look into a .327 and chamber some lower calibers for a proper carry gun for her. Ate some good pork chops and fresh sweetcorn too.Today was a good day anons

If your mag ever jams up, you just lock the bolt back, swap mag, pull the bolt handle a little bit, and let go. I even once did it after my gun jammed after I took a shot hunting. Question for anyone who has built a dedicated 22lr AR like the CMMG or RTB kits - does the AR buffer keep the bolt assembly seated? Im wondering if the bolt will just drop out the back of the receivers if there's no buffer tube or other plug threaded into the bottom receiver.

The top of the bolt will hit the top of the "tower" for the buffer tube and not slide free.Without a buffer or other plug, there may be a bit of back-and-forth movement of the entire bolt unit when cycling, so some people use a pressure plug (sticks out a bit more than a standard AR buffer) to apply forward pressure to the bolt.

CA laws on SBRs are more restrictive (constructive possession is essentially enshrined in the statute), and I wasn't sure if the buffer tube could be counted towards the minimum 26" overall length constraint. Since the gun will operate without the buffer tube, it sounds like a gray area under CA law.On the other hand, I presume if "pre-built" AR-22s (e.g. mp 15-22) operate the same way it's not a major concern, as those are common. Maybe the argument is the stock mount is an indispensable component of the rifle. Funnily (stupidly), owning one of those and an un-installed pressure plug means you own an unregistered SBR, as far as CA law is concerned.
