I spent the day spray painting camo patterns on the stock of my 10/22. Its a magpull x-22. Did I ruin it?

Ehhh. I camo my guns but I don't put sharp lines anywhere on them. The different colors just kinda fade into the next. I'll have to take a pic when it's light out. I live in Central Oregon and my guns can more or less disappear into the earth if I set them down. Were you going for useful camo or just aesthetics?

Also, the recevier needs to be painted as well as it really sticks out right now as it contrasts with both the optic and the stock. You really ought to extend the camo to the optic as well. Also this might just be a trick of the lighting but it seems like the paint is rather glossy, that's terrible for camo, you want a flat finish.As far as aesthetics rather than camo effectiveness goes it looks sloppy. The colored shapes have irregular edges that look like a retarded 4th grader cut them out with scissors instead of having smooth curves. The surface of the paint looks all smudged like it was touched while it was still wet, or maybe recoated too soon or perhaps there was something wrong with the prep--it's hard to tell exactly because the picture isn't focused perfectly. The color choice for the trigger looks dumb.
