Are H&K made SP5s really worth it over the turkshit clones? The price on both is the lowest they been in a while (2.5k for an SP5 vs 1.2k for an AP5 core). Is that $1,300 price difference really worth it? I'm debating which one to buy for a 70s style clone build like picrel. Having HK QC and warranty is pretty appealing but desu the clipped and pinned lowers are gay and kinda ruin it for me. That being said, the potential QC issues on MKE guns (canted sights especially) is also pretty gay. Should I take a gamble with an AP5 or just put away my autism about lowers and buy once cry once?
>>62129516only if you want the rollmark. got a turk mke that just runs, made on hk tooling. The sp5 has nicer finish and welds but is only 1 pin if that matter also
Just get a PSA AR9 for $500 when they run a sale
>>62129516Both my MKE's (Old Zenith import and new Century import) have run perfectly fine. Really depends on how much you care about the rollmark.
>>62129516What about the PTR?
>>62129773PTRs have clipped and pinned lowers which are, again, gay.
>>62129773I have the PTR9k and it’s a great little gun. The only problem I had was those shitty clear plastic mags it came with not feeding right, I bought some KCI metal mags and it runs flawlessly.
>>62129559>just get something with an entirely different operating systemWow, what helpful advice
>>62129560Buy a extar ep9 before the psa. No need to tune, lighter, less recoil and only $450
>>62129516I have an old full sized Zenith made by MKE and an SP5K PDW. The HK is certainly a notch above, but not in a real significant way. The Century imports are a great value, and I'd get one of those first before an HK. You're not missing anything by going with the clone. I love my dog, so what I'm saying is hypothetical, but there are also certain modifications that are easier to do on an MKE than an HK. If you know, you know.
>>62129805Nice I've never seen those. Does it have last round bolt open hold? Does it have a threaded barrel?
>>62129560>Just buy something completely different
>>62129855Yes and yes.
>>62129855>>62129805nta but the Extar has been on my radar for a while now, expecially after seeing nogs with the 5.56 version and learning that it's basically a polymer OA-93For the EP9 just be advised that the buffer tube it comes with isn't standard IIRC so you'll need an adapter to work or new buffer to work with standard AR pattern stuff. It also has polymer trigger group components, but they're supposed to be AR-compatible so you could theoretically drop in a standard AR trigger and be good to go
>>62129516the better question would be why would you even consider anything turkshit at all
>>62129560>Poorfag semite armory
>>62129516remember, if you buy anything but HK people will ask if its an hk and then judge you for not having an hk
