the point of diminishing returns on knives is extremely low, any knife above 50$ is the same in quality if you plan to actually use it as a knife. If we're talking about paperweight art pieces then the good knives start at 10k usd

Look at African knives.

Seriously, though. It depends what you're trying to do and your budget. Combat? Survival? Camping? Hiking? Are you in the Saharah, Sumatra, or Siberia? Need more info.

Unbelievably false. Spending money and quality powder steels will run you at least 100 dollars. There's a sea of difference between some basic but tolerable Kershaw in the 50 dollar range and a usa made spyderco in s110v (240 usd) without getting into 600 dollar OTFs and custom art shit. Stop pooring up the thread.

if you can't do it with a $10 morakniv, a knife is probably the wrong tool for the job

My kabar works fine for camping, utility things and the blade is fuck thicc so I can pry shit open with it no problem. Otherwise I just use cheapo $15 dollar pocket knives like gerber. Knives have a way of getting lost or stolen all the time. Especially when you are in the field
