I have an old US Navy veteran in the family who is dying. He wants his ashes interred in a 3" 50cal projectile like pic related. Does anyone have a source for something like this?
>>62137599I have no idea. That’s cool as fuck though good luck to him
Try matsucorp out of STL. Makes movie props but does weird shit weapon related all the time.
>>62137599Do you already have the shell?
>>62137651I just need the projectile to use as the urn.
>>62137599Do you intend on firing it out of a cannon?
Pre-emptive F>>62137683I have the same question. Also, the answer better be yes.
>>62137667Check with https://www.cdvs.us/ they often have big-bore surp brass and projos.Otherwise just search online for "inert 3in navy shell"
>>62137683>>62137687This was seriously discussed when going over his last wishes and funeral arrangements. A functioning Mk 22 gun is probably not in the cards. However, there are plenty of BP 3" cannons, and I live in an arena with a lot of tall ship enthusiasts. However, the shell will probably sit on the mantle.
>>62137599Im guessing you can buy them online, deactivated of course. Maybe check around local military surplus stores or even gun shops. You should absolutely find a way to shoot him out of it into the ocean or something.
>>62137599ordnance.com is probably your best bet. They only have the full cartridge right now but I think they get stuff regularly.
>>62137696>>62137875I will send them an email to see if they can handle a special request. These are both good leads. Thanks.
>>62137667It's going to need to be a pretty large shell to contain all of the remains

>>62138801Just a matter of how much processing is doneie they can grind it as fine as they wantNot OP but my granddad would've fit in a 3" cartridge I think
>>62137599so you are looking for a piece of ordinance? have you tried ordinance.com?seems like the place to start.
>>62138801>>62138947I actually had this same question. What is the volume of the remains?
>>62137624Isn't he a scammer who's been ghosting people after taking their deposits? Some people have been waiting since 2014 for their shit from him.
>>62139475>The average amount of ash left over after the cremation of an adult is about 3 to 3.5 liters or 183 to 213 cubic inches
>>62139764It's good to know that my ashes could completely fill a Z car's cylinders.
