The main question being if the engine has enough juice to make picrel run if loaded down with the equivalent of minimum level IV armor, hopefully some kind of OIF style catch-as-catch-can improvised blast resistance, and at the least a Maximi for anti personnel purposes. Not as good as "real" armor support obviously but a step up from a used Tacoma.

this makes mustard gas

>but a step up from a used Tacoma
is it?
>>
>>62511476
Tacomas don't have front loaders
>>
>>62511476
They are different.

A skid steer has differential steering which could make it convertible into a tankette.
>>
>>62511491
They can become dump trucks
>>
>>62511476
It is significantly slower and hydraulic driven with no redundancy in the plumbing. It is way worse than a tacoma. OP has never used a skidsteer in his life.
>>
>>62511507
But differential steering tho
>>
>>62511507
The idea being you need something approximating armor support, but a standard afro-engineered technical won't do, and you're not expecting more than improvised enemy anti-armor.

Couldn't you rig a backup hydraulic system?

An armored combine harvester is clearly the superior choice for "anti riot" capability
>>
>>62511507
yeah, no way it can compete with the tacoma and its dual redundant driveshafts

>realistically
Please stop with the qualifier abuse.

>Realistically, would armoring up a skid-steer loader for TEOTWAWKI be a viable strategy?

No. For a number of reasons.
>>62511500
>A skid steer has differential steering which could make it convertible into a tankette.
No. You have hydraulic motors turning a drive sprocket for tracks, or it's turning a sprocket for chains to turn wheels. It's not the same as the crossdrive transmissions used in a tank.

>Couldn't you rig a backup hydraulic system?
No.
>>
>>62512292
Going to share the "number of reasons" with the class?
>>62512271
briefly
>>
>>62512505
You mean besides what was clearly illustrated in the driveline image posted?

Well, seems Anon62511507 was spot on with their observation.

The driveshaft doesn't run throughout the entire truck body, and a pinhole prick with minimal force behind it isn't enough to cause a mission kill. My employees run these things everyday, and cry to me when they regularly break. They would be terrible to bet your life on.
>>
dont some police agents have a modified version that's basically a big bullet proof wall.
it's pretty unwieldy, has to be carried around on a trailer to actually get to a crime scene, and by then it might be over.
>>
>>62513163
Your employees are deliberately cutting the hoses to get out of doing work.
Either that or you need to quit buying hydraulic hoses on aliexpress

Riots are larps encouraged by the government so that people who might otherwise actually rebel "feel like they're accomplishing something" while doing nothing.
