You are traveling a long distance on a motorcycle and you won't always be sleeping under a roof. Your journey will take you across many borders, and because firearms laws can differ so much, it's best for you that any gun you have can be concealed, either in your pack or on your person. What gun or guns do you carry for survival and self defense?

This translation is rough but it's probably the best available, but it's incomplete

Blessed thread.

Anyway me good old beat 1911 45ACP for sidearm, a Dreyse 1907 as a bootgun, and a WASR-10 as my long gun. Just cuz it looks so good with the bayo attached.

I'm going to make the assumption that my vehicle has functionally infinite energy or runs on something easily obtainable regardless of the local tech level. I earn my keep in the various locales I visit via music skills (a la a bard), art skills (like drawing portraits for people in a pre-camera society), or my shooting skills. Flashbangs are for escaping dangerous situations non-lethally. Car has a charging cable for the DS, DS has a flashcart with anything you can feasibly run on a DS, plus e-books galore. Car is stocked with provisions and spare parts and I sleep in the seat when not in a town.

The 20ga H&H, the engraved Smith, and the 78 Garelli moped are all heirlooms passed down from my grandparents to my parents to me. Exactly the kind of gear I'd want to take if I were setting out on an adventure, having some sort of feeling of "carrying my ancestors with me."

This is a fun template, I kind of wish we had more stuff like this here

I know zombies have been done to death (kek) but I really like the idea of more “horror-core” inspired loadouts. The horror genre overlaps a lot with the SHTF/survivalist mindset popular in gun communities, and it would be cool to see more discussions of what loadouts you’d take with you to survive yharnam, or the village in resident evil, or a bunch of lovecraftian fish monsters

I'd carry like 20 religious necklaces like that guy from The Mummy
Also a trench shotgun, because you were probably king shit a thousand years ago when you were scaring retarded superstitious villagers with pitchforks, but your ass isn't ready for 12 gauge BB shot

Reminds me of that scene from buffy when some ancient vampire demon thing wakes up after 2000 years, and taunts buffy with some line about how no mortal weapon could kill him
So our girl whips out a grenade launcher and hits him with the “yeah, I’m sure that was true back then”

That said, Rick’s loadout in the mummy was kino as hell, and the whole movie deserves more recognition for showing people fighting the undead with WWI era weapons

If I could only have one concealable sidearm it would probably have to be a metal frame pistol. Probably a Sig P229 or a Beretta 92. Maybe a 1911 for main character points.

Have you seen Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou? You'd probably like it. It's got a chill apocalypse vibe where guns are present for protection but not really used against others in the story.

Revolvers are simple and kino. They inspire images of adventurers, cowboys, WWI soldiers, the type of men who set off on grand adventures that changed the world. If you're going on a journey, but not necessarily into an active warzone where you might need 21 round magazines for your pistol, then a revolver just feels like a thematically appropriate choice

I think revolvers are just easier to travel with because I don't have to worry about magazines. When you have the limited equipment storage of a motorrad, it's easier to have loose cartridges than magazines.

There are 2 2-episode OVAs. The first one is gorgeous, having been made in the late 90s. The second one is an early digitally animated OVA and doesn't look nearly as good. Still nice stories though.

Hard to decide but I think if I were to ever get a Class C RV I'd just travel with a 686, 1911, 10/22 and a Mossberg 500
Those guns would work in most states and can be hidden easy
