What´s /k/ opinion about this doom weapon capable of carrying 200 nuclear warheads?
>>62544113rusty noisy garbage
>>62544113The British Vanguard is far smaller but carry far more nukes
>>62544132More than 200? saurce?
>>62544113It's so terrifying and capable. Small Ohio class simply cannot compete. Though capable of carrying 288 nuclear warheads and there are 14 in USN service it doesn't scare me because the Americans are too pussy to ever use nuclear weapons. The zero operational Typhoons, on the other band, terrify me because Russia has a leadership with balls.
>>62544190>Small Ohio class simply cannot compete. Though capable of carrying 288 nuclear warheads48 warheads last time i checked.
>>62544113Holy shit!
>>62544113I'd rather take my chances in the trenches of the Somme than be a Russian nuclear submariner.
>only one Typhoon remained in service, Dmitriy Donskoi, which was refitted with the more modern RSM-56 Bulava SLBM for testing. She continued to serve until February 2023, when she was decommissioned.
>>62544208Let me know what you find out. As I understood the treaties which limit Ohios also limit hypothetical operational Typhoons.
>>62544224>I'd rather take my chances in the trenchesgood luck there glownie.
>>62544188The Trident II was designed to carry up to 14 warheads but START limited the number of deployed warheads so they normally carry less.14 MIRV * 16 Trident II = 22624 Tridents in the Ohio-class...
>>62544217Implessive!
>>62544113>doom weaponYes, the crew is very unfortunate
>>62544113Not as good as Ohio but very cool nonetheless
>>62544263
>>62544188>More than 200? saurce?imagination
there is one left in service if I remember. it's like an Ohio, except more expensive, louder, larger, slower and has 4 fewer missiles.
Fat boys that have limited survivability due to poor design making them comically loud. But also like damn thicc.

>>62544679It's also funny that all of Russia's submarine pens are surrounded by the waters of NATO and U.S. allies.
>>62544691Oscar IIs are so fucking ugly - I hope they all kursk
>>62544695LOLnevermind.
>>62544704Russia is so large east to west that it would be almost impossible to not have bases near it. it's got 11 time zones..
>>62544765>did you know we have T-I-M-E-Z-O-N-E-S?
Reminder to all Amerifat losers:By 2032 we in Russia will have more ballistic missile submarines in service than the USN. And both classes will be carrying only 16 missiles.
>>62544777>2032>Russia still existsNeed proofs.
>>62544113Actually maybe near peer quiet for 1 year, then a screeching banshee like every other Soviet shitbox.
>>62544113Up there with the alfa class as an extremely S I C K weird design but for opposite reasons. It's a miracle it was ever built and the world of cool military equipment to jerk off over cross sections and construction pics of was blessed by their construction. If I was CEO of Russia they and Alfas would still be in production
>>62544777And yet they’ll still be Russian submarines crewed and maintained by Russians. Russia could field a hundred boomers and I’d still be more afraid for the whales that have to share an ocean with all those rusty rattletraps
It's fucking suffering seeing the absolute shithole russia is. I'm still mad they didn't fix their shit in the 90s when they had every opportunity to do so. We will never see interesting new soviet sub designs, all milsim games against them will forever be set in the cold war. And before chinks bring up their shit, it's fucking ugly and soulless halfassed copies, plus noone actually believes they're anything other than a paper tiger anyway
