I honestly haven't even tried the Turbo out. I got it for the pivot body that I want to use with a PLH V2 head. I'm trying to sell the Turbo head. I might mess with it a bit tonight to see how it performs, but I'm a lot less interested in high candela lights these days.
I hear ya on college. I'm hoping to defend next summer. You finish? Making dosh now?
Yeah I actually have two of the Chynx shotguns, one is the VP12 that takes VEPR12 mags from the factory, and the other is the OG one that I put a magwell on. I think between the two of them they're at over 2k rounds of 00 Buck. I SBS'd the VP12. Had to GAPE the gasport to get it to cycle, but it does now, coming up on 250 rounds 00 Buck no malfs since I chopped and opened the port on it. That project is going okay. Charging handle snapped off on the VP12, then I had to try to fix it like 4 times. So far it is holding. Ended up welding a bolt to the carrier. I am looking at puttin a JK Armament 12 gauge can on it, the Versax 195
https://jkarmament.com/products/jk-195-versax-12ga/
Then I need to buy some cheap shitty toy drones and props and do some destructive capability testing with various loads at various ranges.

>>62738023
Yeah this is what I've been sorta thinking. A2 and I were discussing what factors might be contributing to my observed reduced flash reduction performance with the PrintX Mini 556 K
The YHM Kurz mount setup really eats into blast chamber volume, and bring the muzzle closer to the blast baffle. IMO that is the most likely primary cause of the reduced performance I'm seeing. That being said it still is an open question how much muzzle device type, flash hider or brake, affects suppressor flash and sound performance.

.300 blkout will never surpass 7.62x39 in any metric but sound suppression. Its a weaker smaller version.
Unironically 5.45x39 is a good cartridge. Sad we cant have it.
>>
>>62738181
You should never have a brake or comp on a defensive weapon. A2, S3P, SF4p, SFCT exist for a reason. Griffin armament sells a A2 compatible suppressor.

yeah make sure you give the turbos a fair test, and not just inside a 10ft room. i found a lot of the "conventional" lights were incapable of defeating car tint at 15+ feet. the turbos still have usable spill too.

Damn, i was going to SBR my VEPR12 but i might not now that i read that. i like being able to shoot cheap walmart ammo.

5.45 is way better when you compare it to 556 55gr. because it tumbles. 556 only wins once you step up to defensive ammo or 77gr. for cheap ammo 545 wins . (or used to, before bans)

it's just a really cheap cartridge that is still lethal. and i love how tapered it is, failures to extract dont exist.

Even out of a 8"-10" barrel with modern powders and lower weight 300blk bullets?
How far off in terms of muzzle energy and terminal ballistics is 300blk from 7.62x39" from similar SBR barrel lengths?
Say, 110VMax 300blk out of an 8.4" vs mil spec 123/124 grain 7.62x39" out of a similar Krink length barrel?

Yeah I'll give it a fair shake. I'm just skeptical of the spill, but I appreciate your input!
>usable spill
Yeah that is my main concern, but I'll check it out
>SBS my VEPR12
I would do it personally if I had one. Opening up the port was easy, the hardest part is getting the gas block off. Personally I'm fine with a gun that can only cycle high brass, so long as it can cycle heavy bird loads reliable, that is enough for me.

I only brought up 5.45x39 because he brought up 7.62x39. The Russians switched to it bc its a good round.
7.62x39 and .300blkout are good within 300 yards. And thats it.
5.45 and 5.56 are simply better cartriges. Lighter faster and can shoot out farther with minimal recoil.
I never said 5.45 was superior. I just said its a good round that sadly we cant have. And Id rather have a 5.45 AK than a 5.56.

depends entirely on the adjustable gasblock you intend to use. for most people i recommend bootleg carrier or riflespeed. neither will seize in real world conditions.

>>62738584
Im using a bootleg. And it built ino the carrier. So long as you clean your bcg then its fine.
Adjustable gas blocks are prone to locking up with carbon. So the selector cant be adjusted. By nature of heat from the barrel and its right at the gas port.
Gas is vented out of the bcg. So theres less gas.

For your rifle to qualify as a modern carbine you MUST have the following

>some sort of magnification (i.e. magnifier if using a red dot)

What is the best way to use in line irons, but also have a magnified optic like an LPVO? I have picrel on the way, but I like to use LPVO's since I usually shoot mid-range (300-800 yards) at the range. However I also want to be able to use my irons if I need to.

Is a QD optics mount the only way aside front canted irons? I think canted looks silly.

My whole thought process is "What if I am in a situation where I have gone through all of my battery stock and I need to use my rifle in a relatively close setting" (25-100 yards)

That's why I like LPVO's and any etched reticle optic. I can still use the optic without any illumination in most circumstances, but at close distances I would rather have the option to use irons. I have an RMR, but it's on my full size handgun, and I don't want to add another electronic doodad onto my main rifle. Dots are awesome nowadays, and I tried a top mount, but I didn't like using it.

I'll get a nice LPVO riser with QD. Probably a Larue LT101. I have a PVS14 (Gen 3 White phos) like all well equipped "minutemen", but I don't plan on shooting at night. That's my sleepy time :)

None, because trijicon hasn't refreshed their product line in ages. You can put an acog on there, but none of the reticle subtensions will be accurate. You can correct that with a ballistic calculator and a dope card on your stock, but yardage will be different.

Most cog enjoyers roll 16 (TA31D) or 14.5 (TA31-RCO/M4CP)

dont listen to retards. ACOG is fine on an 11.5 assuming you are also doing some kind of additional red dot which is what you will be primarily using. Theoretically a red dot with a magnifier you are actually taking on and off when you need it is the most optimal for an 11.5, but alot of guys dont do this really and a cog+dot is one of the best optics combos there is for a general use rifle, which is what an 11.5 is if you are wanting magnification on it at all

You buy a red dot for a red dot.
Magnifiers help but not a ton.
You need to accept the fact that no single optic is great at everything so you can either have something great at something and shitty at other things or you can have something that’s decent at most things but great at nothing.
>dedicated NV gun
>shooting almost exclusively 100y and in
>USPSA match style shooting
>shooting from awkward angles
>home defense
Great use cases for red dot
TA31 ACOGs are combat optics as the name specifies.
These are ultra lightweight utilitarian optics that prioritize relative simplicity (it’s one magnification level with a BDC and no battery) and FOV.
FOV matters when you are in combat and use fix and flank type maneuvers which rely more on seeing what’s going on in a wide space vs making accurate impacts. That’s what CAS, artillery, grenade launchers, AT launchers, MGs, SPRs, DMRs, and sniper support roles are for.
When you are carrying 100 pounds of shit uphill you will prefer saving weight wherever possible. That’s what ACOGs were designed for.
If you just want something for fucking around at the range that’s not meant for le duty use you unironically probably want something like a Virtex Razor 1-6 SFP.
You can easily make hits out to 400y and they’re actually really easy to use at close range on 1x since the eyebox os firgivong enough and the eye relief is really good.
They’re also red dot bright have have a crisp dot they just burn through batteries.
>>
Need some optics recommendations. I had a Holosun that flat out stopped working one day and their customer service never answered my calls or emails, so they're dead to me.

I would like to own a LMT12.5 midlength specwarfare. Supposedly its good.
The benefit of a external piston upper is in short barrel configuration where dwell time doesnt exist. Unlike Di. (Internal piston). That and short barrel di guns get hot and it shortens ring life.

>>62739825
>Are all the people on arfcom/snipershide/leddit wherever who swear piston SBRs are more pleasant to shoot suppressed actually onto something or just huffing their own farts?
it's easier to tweak a piston gun to shoot softer with a can as its harder to adjust the gassing of a DI gun, and adjustable di gas blocks are shit. Purpose built suppressor only DI guns are pretty fucking good, but they get grimy.
>QC lotto
oof. personally (i have surface level knowledge of LMT's design process), I would probably stick to the DI as it looks like their piston offering is more of an afterthough rather than being the focus of the rifle, unlike the HK416, Scar or mcx.
The good quality DI LMT rifles ive seen have all been real solid. I just wouldn't play their qc game today.
Good luck though anon

You remove complexity with an ACOG because it’s a fixed prism that doesn’t need batteries to work.

I have a 10 year old (maybe older) pair of lees thslat fit perfect. The exact new ones I had to toss bc I was so mad I had so suck in my gut to button. And my dick hurt. Their QC is dogshit.
I wear Magellens now. Which nobody hear will wear. But they fit slightly baggier than my old levis.

yeah, have you ever noticed how they all look like shit and they have no taste?
Patchwork tattoos look fucking atrocious and EVERY single whore gets them nowadays. It just shows that you are impulsive and cant plan out things getting tattoos on a whim. In an effort to stand out and make yourself unique, you somehow made yourself look even more basic by getting a shitty trendy tattoo.
Don't get me started on all the lion tattoos and cross tattoos.
Yes you're right, 80% of people have le ebin pickle rick leddit tattoos, and it looks like shit.
