I was just looking through elcan in basement with nods.Obviously light transmission is the biggest issue so it’s going to be a few shades darker than normal nods use.In areas with enough ambient light it’s completely fine and in areas that are dark it’s too dark to see through.Sight picture itself is really not too different.There is some difference in magnification between an elcan on 1x and a pvs14 but it’s not much.Long story short so long as you have enough ambient light wherever you are looking you should be good to go.I’ll try it out again tonight and look outside.Should be a pretty significant contrast between areas with street lights and areas without.If you’re out in the woods on a dark night you’re fucked with passive regardless so use thermal at that point tbqh.

IMO though to just make a generalization, if you can do a sub 24:00 5km, then you're light and fit enough in terms of cardio to be "infantry" effective.
