It's not a bad gun, but it's more expensive and less acute than an AR. Also, the newer ones have some improvements over the old ones that are worth looking for. Magazines are expensive, too. It's a buy it because you like it kind of gun. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you know it.

Also I’m really liking the Sig Romeo X enclosed. Other than the size, it’s on the small size. My dream optic would be it but on the RMR footprint so it’s wider. It’s a side mounted battery so it can be just as low as it is now just wider and fatter. Maybe they won’t be able to do enclosed on the RMR but I’d still like the wider window and low deck height.

Unless you demonstrably shoot .380 better, just get the 9mm. The ammo is cheaper and the selection is way better. People will tell you the jump in preformance is absolutely massive, but it's pretty marginal for what you are doing. Otherwise, the P365 IS the meta, even if contrarian hipsters insist on their PPSs and PX4s and 1911s.

Meaningless. The primary wounding mechanic of handgun calibers is the permanent cavity produced by the physical profile of the bullet.

>.45acp=relatively easily placed large channels
>.40sw=medium sized channels that are harder to place than 9mm or .45acp
.40 sucks

You might have a point but I’m pretty sure PPanon did his miserable gay blogging before I ever did this. I’m took a break from posting these and the threads got alot worse actually, things are pretty tame now. It’s sad, /hg/ has gone from people very enthusiastic about handguns and now a bunch of bickering people who barely post handguns or anything. Barely any groups ever posted (I haven’t posted mine either so I shouldn’t complain), very little discussion about shooting handguns, sad!

Loop around the leg I make loose, it just needs to grab when you go to draw the holster. I find it more comfortable since I can adjust where the gun rides independently of my belt. I can put the entire gun below the belt line if concealment is the utmost concern or I can ride it up for comfort or draw speed. Basically I ride the gun low in the pants at work or other places it’s a no no to have a gun and then before I leave I adjust the gun.

Comping my G19 has absolutely destroyed my interest in full size, full steel, and generally any guns advertised as "easier to shoot" and I don't know how to feel about it. I've always felt forced into this dichotomy between the ease of shooting of the fullsize and gamer guns for HD or range use with the carriability of compacts for CC use as the former are just annoyingly heavy/big. They all look so much cooler but the thing carries just as well as it used to with slight holster modification, shoots softer than my SP01, and hasn't decreased in reliability. Mounting an optic was a breeze. This sucks because those guns look way cooler and it's destroyed a whole chunk of my interest in gunsooming in general. I feel like I've just solved the whole category of handguns that aren't pocket guns and it feels weird

Anyways that's my blog post thanks for reading

Try not to wrap your support hand around your firing hand fingers. Try to get those fingers out of the way. Focus more on the meaty bit of flesh on your support hand below your thumb, and get as much surface area of that fleshy bit on the grip of the gun. It sounds counterintuitive, but all things considered, your support hand is probably more important than your firing hand. All your firing hand needs to do is actuate the trigger, and do to that you only need to index your trigger finger consistently, the other fingers don't really matter.
When I shoot, my firing hand middle/ring/pinky finger are mostly on top of the front strap of the gun, not wrapped around onto the other side. If your fingers are too long to do this, consider using a larger backstrap.

I sort of agree, despite owning the OP pistol, another pistol just like it but in 10mm, and other expensive “gunsoomer” guns. This M9A3 with the Jarvis comp shoots super flat, effortlessly, compared to the rest of my guns. I like guns more than shooting them which is my problem, I get interested in how they work, how all the parts fit together, fit and finish, etc.

Auto ordnance hasn't made enough of a splash to get a reputation, which isn't a bad or a good thing it just means you probably won't find another owner here. It's not a known quantity at it's ~$1k price point like S&W, Sig, Dan Wesson ect.

If you want it you should try and find customer testimonials for their warranty service. If it's good and it draws you more than the other known quantities get it and post about it here, but look at the other options for the price point first. Most have earned a good reputation for a reason.

I spend like $200-300ish on whiskey a month and usually drink cask strengths and unique barrel finishes so I was really excited for the sea grass. It's all ethanol, barely any flavor. It drinks way too hot for it's proof, and that makes the subtle notes of the finishes and whiskey itself invisible. I gave barrel a second try with their 2023 new years release and that also had the exact same problem for me, way too much ethanol for the proof.

If you're looking for really thick heavy flavored cask strength ryes pick up a JD single barrel barrel proof or redwood empires emerald giant cask strength. If you want something simple and sweet and lovely for like a summer sipper try the smoke wagon blenders select rye. If you want some cool budget finshed products starlight distillery is always coming out with some bizzare shit for ~$40-50 and even their misses are decent.

I should specify, of the 4 JD cask strength ryes the 2 from warehouse 9 are fantastic and heavy on the maple syrup notes, the one from warehouse 7 is dripping with heavy flavors and so smooth a bunch of my buddies that only drink 40 proof whiskey love it, and the 1 from warehouse 6 is like a bomb from a bomb factory for bombs. When shooting it I had to keep repositioning my hands because its awkward.
Still, its part of the collection. It's been exclusively used for fanny pack or backpack carry, for example when i go cycling or when I pack up some food to go out into the free public grills this guy finds itself in an inside pocket of my messenger bag.

Maybe that's to do with the battery contact? That was the primary difference in the Type 2s. I thought the change was done just because batteries bounced and it causes intermittent connection (I had this happen to my Type 1s, even on rifles) but I didn't think they actually failed because of it. Looks like there are at least 3 battery connection failures before 13,000 rounds in Aaron Cowan's white paper

Maybe I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. Interesting!

Presumably all Trijewcon pistol optics from RMR Type 2 going forward have the new battery contacts, but I don't own any to confirm

Yeah this was a compounding error of mine that began with thirdhand info I neglected to confirm. At this point now, several replies later, I'm quite wrong to be using concrete terms about something that was vague to begin with and it is my stupid mistake to plod on without confirming facts. But I promise it started with good mythbusting intentions, and the issue I've been ASSuming is at play IS a theorycrafting nonissue that, to my knowledge, hasn't actually exhibited in a duty or defense situation. With PPQs and VP9s anyway, Canik I have no idea, I am ASSuming conformity because it uses exactly the same mechanism

A P220 vs a 1911? DA/SA trigger, and a design that doesn't rely on a garbage linked barrel, and will feed JHP ammo better (depending on 1911 manufacturer).
A P220 vs a G21? Lower capacity, but a grip that isn't like holding a 2x4, and in SA mode, a far better trigger.

>>
>>62868708
Any particular reason you're stuck with .45? A P226 can have 18 round flush fit mags. Not that the P220 would be a bad first gun by any means, You're just stuck with 8 round flush fits, and more expensive ammo.
>>62868726
I could see that.
>>62868760
I too, slightly prefer the P226, but it's not like the WC 92G had a bad trigger even before I started tinkering with spring weights and the trigger bar. A stock 92 definitely benefits from the 92D mainspring though. That's all I've changed on my 92FS, and it was a good upgrade.

Great, so you already have a solid gun, keep that insane 1911 because it's so fucking insane and cool. I wouldn't put too much money in it, but I wouldn't sell it either.
I don't have any experience with them, but Auto Ordinance has a very good reputation for the Thompsons and M1 Carbines.

Is it known or speculated that the PDP-F also has this issue?
>>
>>62868759
Ok so for $200-300 you are actually living in the golden age of cheap handguns and have some very good options. The PSA dagger, Berretta APX compact, CZ p10c, and Taurus G3c are all going to be good options for you.

My best advice for you is to get a kydex holster for anything you buy, which helps protect the trigger keeping your gun safe. Your accuracy is related to gun grip. Modern samurais grip really works for me, stacking your thumbs on top of each other is really important. Think of two dogs fucking, don't cross the thumbs. https://youtu.be/zXTmdzurFrM?si=4FzyzEJO_TdphwuU

Buying your ammo online can save you a ton of money, like 10 cents a round which in 20ish range trips pays for the whole gun.

The PDP F has a little different parts arrangement, I would not presume to lump it in with the rest but I dunno. If it uses the same FCG cassette that the P99, PPQ, and PDP* use then it's possible
*PDP is a little different but fundamentally the same 3-part single action arrangement as the P99 and PPQ

Well, that's reason enough right there. Go with a Smith & Wesson because its the best quality for the price. Something in a .357 so you can shoot .38 Special and .357 Magnum and probably 4" or 6" for woodlands protection.
Used revolvers can be a deal IF you know how to check them, so look up some YT videos on how to inspect them.
>>62868759
>Like $200-300.
For that price the only wheel gun would probanly be the Rock Island M200 which is only .38 Special, but still a respectable gun that's gonna work for you use case. I'd still save up for the Smith and Wesson, but this might be a good way to test the waters.

>Ruger Wrangler
They're all great guns but I would still recommend a semi auto because they are easier to learn and shoot with.
I mean we dont live in the 20th century in which the first 70 years pretty much made owning a revolver a necessity since the best semi autos at the time you could regularly get were a 1911 or a Hi-Power, and even then especially with the 1911, those weren't always reliable and the capacity edge just didn't make up for it.

If you get the chance rent a 44. It’s a lot of fun and a much different experience from a semi auto..

The 444 marlin ladders are gonna be interesting.. it’s only 15 rounds but it starts at 46 grains and runs up to 50 in 1 grain incrememnts… 300gn sierra jacketed solid points… it’s not really a regular load for 444 so I’m really relying on grt to make sure I’m not doing something stupid.. on the low end it’s 1877 fps for 2349 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle predicted with 37 ft-lbs of recoil and should be over 30% below the max pressure for 444.. on 50 grains it should be at 2034 fps… 2757 ft-lbs of energy predicted with 44 ft-lbs of recoil and 15% below max pressure.. but I don’t trust GRT all that much with this yet so I’m gonna watch the actual velocities and if it’s over I may forgo the last rung. It predicts a lot higher than what I actually get for 44 mag through it.. that may be because it has to cover a long distance before engaging the rifling, or it may be that the 444 rifling is shallower than 44 mag usually runs and that’s causing the false high results…. Gonna slug the barrel when I get the chance and see where it’s actually at…. 45 acp for scale.
>>
>>62869164
Other possibility is that the chamber for 444 marlin is wider than 44 mag normally has to work with and the brass is expanding more.. unfortunately I resized all the 44 mag brass before thinking about that so I’ll have to wait till after Sunday to check… more combustion chamber volume would definitely give me lower velocities…

Just keep in mind that the spicyness of the 357, and the weight of whatever your shooting will vastly change the experience. My opinion on the “recent” beretta QC issues is people just loving to bitch about “European” companies setting up domestic production. Pretty sure the APX is made in Italy.
>>
>>62869466
Beretta has been making M9s for years in the USA so I don't see an issue with that
>>
>>62869467
They set up a new plant in Galletin TN, leaving the ACCK, MD plant
>>
>>62869466
I've specifically heard issues with the APX finishes being shit and having issues to eject.
>>
>>62869475
I've been aware of that for years
My M9A1 was built there in 2018 and it's been great after all these years
>>
>>62869372
I own one of the new a1 design ones and have 2 buddies that own one as well. They're good guns, the flaw is not their QC which is really good for a $269 pistol or whatever they are now days. Their flaw is the aftermarket is nonexistent. The guns been around for 8 years and is on it's second iteration but there are NO aftermarket frames for the serialized FCU, and only 2 trigger kits I know of. The echelon has more grip/frame modules available than the APX does and it's been out for less than a year. The Arex zero 1 has as many trigger kits available and it's a relatively unknown gun from Slovenia.

It's a great value gun but you better hope you love it in it's origional configuration because ya can't really change it.

Only ever had FTF's in my APX. The one FTE was an underloaded round.
>>
>>62869512
The old APX or the new APX? And what caused the FTF?

What if I look like a cheesedick with my splatter paint holster and brass VP9? What if I don't perform at a literally-John-Wick level? What if I'm grouped with some creepy chuds? What if I'm eepy so I drink a big coffee and what if that big cawfee makes me diarrhea? Oh shidd oh fugg it's so over and it hasn't even started.
>>
>>62869531
Old compact.

>>
>>62869499

>>

Ir looks like the tab that interacts with the magazines is bent. You can probably just bend it back but I would take it out first. You can also probably just send it back in and have them fix it. Mose companies will do something nice like throw in a free mag if you have to send a gun in for warranty repair.

I didn’t have family to teach me how to handle a rifle. I need to do technique right when bigger people could have shit technique but still muscle their way past it.
Anyways I want to shoot my rifle.

>Both Applebee's and Chili's are prone to hepatitis b outbreaks.
that's hep A not hep B, and we got a vaccine for that one too now. classic inactivated virus shot, not any RNA witchcraft, and remember in your risk/benefit analysis that hep A (fecal-to-oral transmission) is only gonna get more common the more shitskins we import.
