Pump action perfection.
aren't these shit lol, like the nobel shotguns
>>62874379the only item i inherited from my dead uncle was his 20g springfeild that sometimes tries to dump 2 shells into the breach, there is a stupid story involving my dad where he tried to take it apart to clean it out to make it be a wall-hanger for his parents and had to have the gunsmith put it all back together, the gunsmith said you should not take these apart and that you probably shouldnt even shoot it now.I shoot it anyways and other than a few weird jams it works fine.
>>62875025The Ithaca 37 gets style points from me and is my personal favorite but this anon is correct.

>>62875345Mossbergs are the biggest overrated pieces of shit besides 10/22s
>>62875586>the two most popular and beloved guns if all time(mossberg 500 and 10/22) are actually bad and everyone is just wrong Okay bud
I got a rem 870 tactical next to the bed. Solid home defense gun.
>>62875025Peak 12ga pump right there. Yes Remington went to shit but the 870 is a solid platform with a simple and fluid action. Having taken apart many other models of pump shotgun, the 870 is hands down the most easily and elegantly taken down.
Based thread, I love stainless/nickel/marinecote shotguns so much it's unreal
>>62875586>being a retarded hipsterok nerd
Mossberg is kind of disappointing as a company but they sure do have one good design, and they definitely know how to build it right.
>>62874318I want a trench gun, are there any modern reproductions that arent shit? Rather not give a boomer thousands of dollars for buying one cheap as dirt 60 years ago

>>62875690Glock of shotguns, just good 'nuff
>>62875666Checked satan. What kind of shell sleeve is that? I’ve seen this stock image before but can never find the ammo carrier anywhere.
Is this the shotgun thread?

>>62875695That doesn't seem to indicate any sort of performance issue. So you think you have to spend $4000 on a shotgun or you're a pleb?My $300 Winchester turkshit has at least 1000 shells through it and works flawlessly. Not particularly interested in pulling a Tim Walz and trying to impress people with my boutique shotgun I never fire.
>>62875666The 940 is genuinely an excellent shotgun too.And while they aren't shotguns, Mossberg's MC2-series handguns are also really good.
>>628755868/8, m8
>>62875666MVP is based
>>62875716I think what i like is better than what u like, such as a actual winchester instead of turkshit
>>62875814So again, you don't care about actual performance, but brand recognition, cost, and what others think of you.I like guns that fire reliably and accurately.
Ithaca 37>Winchester 1897>Winchester Model 12>Remington 870>Mossberg 500Mossberg would go higher on the list if it didn't have such a shit failure point on the bolt. I've had to replace more than a few bolts over the years because the bolt cracks out around the locking block pivot/retaining pin, it would be insanely simple to just move that pivot point down in the bolt a little bit so the pin has more meat around it, but it hasn't been done. It also has issues with front of the trigger group housing shearing off. It's an easy fix, but it happens too much. Oh, and the safeties fall out or break frequently and are annoying to replace. The 870 has plenty of issues, but it doesn't usually require replacing parts, usually just finishing the fit and finishing issues Remington sucks at. The other guns on the list don't really have common problems except for those that come with the fact that most examples are approaching 100 years old.
>>62876038>Oh, and the safeties fall out or break frequently and are annoying to replace.I had to replace the safety twice on my friend’s 500, his dad dropped it once, it exploded, they jerry rigged it till it would switch on every shot, we fixed it, dropped it again, convinced him to buy the metal one, hasn’t had an issue since, still annoying though.
>>62875700I'm flattered you think it's a stock image. It's a picture I took of my shotgun last fall. But yeah the shell sleeve is a Tactical Tailor shell holder. I don't recommend it but that's what it is.
>>62876038>97>12please elaborate
>>62875933Duke Nukem spotted
>>62876411Purely aesthetics. Both are very reliable guns, the 97 is a little more difficult to take apart, but those looks are hard to beat.
>>62876038where do you put the 1200?
>>62876758>97 gf is a 10understandable, model 12 seems like a better design but that's the only one i've had so i thought i'd ask. 97 is a total grandfather clock from what i've read up(watched videos) on.
>>62876807nta but they're with the 500 and the 870, good shotguns but they dont make em like they used to sonny *sip*
>>62876807It's barely above no brand guns. I don't know how winchester fell so hard with shotguns, but it's not good.>>62876836The 97 has a ton of parts, but they never really break, it's more due to manufacturing constraints of the day that it has so many parts.
>>62876294>last fall Faggot I’ve had this image in my library for years. So either you’re lying about the timing larping hardcore

>>62874379I have a stevens 67E I got for 200, early 80s, has been great save for a lost ejector.
>>62879389Biggest issue with the "modern" Winchester pumps is that Winchester won't stop fucking around with the design. They have a few parts that like to break and replacement of those parts it's really the only fix. The problem is that Winchester keeps redesigning the gun. New parts don't work, even with fitting, in old guns. Of course Winchester also completely halts production of the old parts. They also are a much smaller share of the shotgun market compared to Remington and Mossberg so used parts become rare pretty quick. So it's not uncommon to have a 20 year old shotgun that is nothing more than a wall hanger because parts are unobtanium. A good gunsmith can spend some time and build parts, but no one is going to pay what that costs on a $300 shotgun
