Yep. In one of the future scenes they use a G3 alongside their plasma guns, so .308 must have some effect. .223 is completely ineffective in the police station, but the cops were probably using FMJ or HP, so M855 is probably enough too.

They mention in T1 and T2 that the minimum small arm needed to sufficiently damage/kill a T-800 is 50BMG to the head or body. They demonstrate it in the first scene of T5 too
