Would the weapons you currently own be able to take down a fully armed T-800?

MAH .45 IS MURR DAN ENUFF FOR THAT 'TEROID JUNKY. GOBBLESS.
>>
Yep. In one of the future scenes they use a G3 alongside their plasma guns, so .308 must have some effect. .223 is completely ineffective in the police station, but the cops were probably using FMJ or HP, so M855 is probably enough too.

The movie pretty sufficiently demonstrated that small arms aren't enough. However for a T-888, the only correct answer is my dick.
>>
>>62877118
In Terminator Salvation, Connor guns down a T-600 using what I think is a Huey's side-mounted M60.
If I had to make an educated guess, T-600 has full body Level IV protection and Connor was probably using M993. T-800 is likely full body XSAPI and the guys in the future scenes are using more exotic .308 AP. T-900 and the other beefier "anti-terminator" terminators are probably immune to anything below AP .50 BMG.
>>
>>62877037
Didn't they have to break out a steel mill to actually get rid of him?
>>
>>62877166
In that same move, a t-600 is point blank executed with 2-3 5.56 in the head. A ground based HK is also killed but a squad mag dumping 5.56 into it at close range. Of course, who knows what ammo was used. Still, the power levels are inconsistent.

They established that if you shoot a t600 in the backside particularly in the back of their head/nape. You can take it down.

Heads seem to be weak. Even the T-1000 got stunned for the longest when hit there. On an off note, Skynet would have speedrun T2 if they just sent a T-900 (pic rel) instead of the T-1000. Twice as fast as even the T-850, and twice the armor. Would have ripped the T-800 apart at the Galleria and caught up to John before he even started the bike.
>>
I would have to mag dump green tip and pray that I hit a weak spot
all my larger rounds are soft point
>>
>>62877037
I own a hydraulic press
>>
>>62879114
Today on hydraulic press channel: how many tons of pressure can a T800 handle?
>>
They mention in T1 and T2 that the minimum small arm needed to sufficiently damage/kill a T-800 is 50BMG to the head or body. They demonstrate it in the first scene of T5 too
>>
couldn't this thing get messed up by a basic home mains electricity line?

It's obvious in the original film that the minimum forces to cause the terminator damage and the maximum forces any part of it's body can take are pretty wide apart A few shells of buckshot "stunned" it somehow suggesting his internal components got rattled, and it did sustain minor damage through the first chase sequence. He does occasionally react to getting shot in the police station with a sudden jerking (the momentum on his body from 5.56 would not cause any significant movement). Like with anything, his components are certainly armored to different thicknesses and more or less vulnerable to vibrations from impacts. Anyone who's seen battlebots can tell you a machine can bounce something off it's armor, look totally fine, and be totally broken.

>>62879486
>They mention
What line would that be?

>They demonstrate it in the first scene of T5 too
The fact that round blew clear through him at his thickest point suggests it was a little bit over what was necessary.

I always assumed there was no way these mother fuckers could swim but that's never come up in the movies

Assuming it doesn't hit crush depth it could just walk on the bottom until it finds it's way out.

1) cops suck ass at shooting
2) they shoot center of mass, likely the worst place to inflict damage on a T800
3) they were mostly shooting rounds that soft armor can stop, the 5.56 was the exception but again, center of mass

In one of the future settings Connor fucks one up with a Mk23 Socom point blank in the face.

Everything I have is intermediate or pistol caliber except for one rifle. I would be limited to bolt-action and a 5 round mag, but I think 8mm Mauser might do a bit of damage to its more vulnerable areas. Maybe I damage it and then die like everyone who isn't a protagonist.

Love how the new anime basically redid this scene but in 80s Japan so the termie is using a crossbow he made from construction equipment and attached to his arm so he can fire and reload it one handed.

Going by RE damage rules, a battle rifle should severely fuck up any Tyrant. .50AE is a proven boss stomper, so unloading 20 rounds of .308 should take down any T-virus based enemy, at least temporarily. You'd need to build an IED to solve them permanently since HE is the only thing shown to keep them from getting back up.
