now that the us has authorized the ukie armed forces to strike deeper into russia, what sorts of targets can they hit and how far are those targets? what big of a difference will this make. can it be simiilar to the HIMARS strikes when it arrived in around june 2022J

no

>To help the Ukrainians defend Kharkiv, Mr. Biden allowed them to use the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, which have a range of about 50 miles, against Russian forces directly across the border. But Mr. Biden did not allow the Ukrainians to use longer-range ATACMS, which have a range of about 190 miles, in defense of Kharkiv.

because the new authorization ~ "comes following escalation from imminent threat of nork horde". there's direct parallelism in how the "Sources Familiar With His Thinking" press are discussing this new authorization and that given for kharkiv, which was of a very delimited and "defensive" nature. At the time, ZSU still wasn't authorized to use longer-range munitions to take out launch sites a hop, skip and jump across the border.

>Putin to purchase an additional 75,000 Nork slave-soldiers
Granted, I'm assuming of the original 30,000 tranche a few thousand have already died.
Very pricey I imagine though, either way.

That is enough meat to push Ukrainians out of Kursk for certain, which is the obvious goal, plus restart the Kharkiv offensive that failed last year too.

>>62880168
>what sorts of targets can they hit
Nork-supporting logistical infrastructure, equipment concentrations, ammo dumps, etc. The usual in that sense.
Biden/Sullivan are still 100% categorically against airfield, power plant, and hydrocarbon pipeline strikes I imagine. Escalation and all that jazz.

You won't see Ukraine allowed to strike those kinds of targets until after the botched Trump-Putin peace talks next year.
>>
>>62880325
has ukraine not been effectively hitting airfields with some decent effect
>>
>>62880336
>effectively hitting airfields
yes
>with some decent effect
"decent" is doing some heavy lifting in that statement.
Ukrainians can effectively hit things at the airfields that don't move (ammunition, fuel storage) but the actual targets of first-order value fly away long before any drone can get there.
Russia has moved their active airfields far enough back that nothing short of a fast TBM or stealthy cruise missile is going meaningfully harm them.

>Granted, I'm assuming of the original 30,000 tranche a few thousand have already died.
they don't seem to have been committed in any number yet. we have pretty good information from the kursk front. so far, nothin. there have been scattered stories of nork-looking troops and a couple deaths in rear areas.

>Very pricey I imagine though, either way.
hard to tell. they're green recruits. round 1 might be a #solidarity move meant to elevate the norks at the recent BRICS conference and secure the RU/KP mutual defense pact, signed a couple weeks back. norktard might know better the degree to which it's completely worthless or not.

>You won't see Ukraine allowed to strike those kinds of targets until after the botched Trump-Putin peace talks next year.
i forgot to add reason e) for zrada: the other day zelensky cucked to "hoping for a diplomatic resolution in 2025." this obviously empty gesture of appeasement pissed off literally everyone i know who is actually fighting the war.

>>
>>62880242
>and of course it leaked to press before ukies could strike anything left worth killing.
I don't think it "leaked", it was probably spread on purpose so the russians have time to pull back and there is no "escalation".
Meanwhile Putin told Scholz that russian minorities are getting supressed in NATO nations and Russia will not watch that happen any longer, whatever he meant by that.
>>
>>62880408
>Russia will not watch that happen any longer
Thinly veiled threat they they can supposedly attack the Baltics.
I personally hope they nuke themselves in order to prove they mean business.
>>
>>62880168
I thought I had a screenshot of me saying this before the election but the limitations were gonna be removed after the election despite who won. If Kamela won then they could have done the decision because it no longer would impact the election and if Trump won they could do the decision and let it be Trump's problem. He can't go to Zelenzky now and say no you can't do that anymore. The genie is out of the bottle.
>>
>>62880404

Are people inherently evil, or are they just stupid?

>>62880431

I wish they didn't have nukes in order for your pic related to actually happen, and end this farce two years ago.

He has to say that.
When it comes to negotiation with Trump the first party that says 'no' gets fucked. Always.

Zelensky is gambling that Putin (or whatever proxy he has for negotiations) will be insensible, broadly uncompromising, and delusional.
He's not wrong to assume this.

Past tenancies reflect future functions, and Russia has be fatalistically so for quite a while.

Trump doesn't care about de-escalation, only about himself looking good. Removing permissions from Ukraine would look bad.
Biden greenlighting the strikes is convenient, because this way Trump doesn't have to take flak from anyone
>>
>>62880471
>Does Ukraine even have such missiles? How many?
Sitting on them like a dragon sits on their treasure. Probably a few dozen at most.

It should also be noted that Zelensky stated Ukraine had just "completed its first 100 missile samples". This could imply production of Neptune, Hirm-2, Palyanytsia, all of the above, or some something completely different.

Regardless we know Biden/Sullivan have pressured Ukraine to not use EU provided missiles against Russia-proper targets. It isn't too much to assume the may even extend to domestic productions.

This lifting would do more than allow USA-provided arms then, as it would allot for all subordinate restrictions to also be removed.

>And what's stopping the orange man from reinstating the ban?
A few months and Putin being a retarded cunt.
Given his response to "don't escalate" was calling Trump's wife a whore, purchasing Nork slaves, and starting a persistent winter bombing campaign of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and power plants (again) he's clearly taken a stance on that topic.

Too little too late. I was against this limp dick strategy from the west day 1. Either give Ukraine the means to properly end the war or just let Russia take it. To prolong the conflict with these half assed measures is just pure malice. It reminds of all the other foreign policy disasters of US where their half assed measures just ended up prolonging the conflicts and causing more suffering in the long term.
>>
>>62880454
>He has to say that.
I know that's the idea, but confidence in zelensky's administration is not that high. Look at it from the eastoid doomer lumpenprole point of view: latest internal polling comes back saying that a strong majority of ukrainians oppose land consessions for peace, and like 2 or 3 weeks later the president is glibly playing along with a narrative that everyone knows involves land concessions for peace. Meanwhile, most western audiences don't even hear him do this, because the spin machine (abetted by musk) pushes a false edit of a suspilne radio interview made to read like zelensky said america can go fuck itself if they think they can force ukraine to the negotiating table.

All in all, he could afford to shut the fuck up right now. People aren't fighting for the war to end of russia's terms, either intentionally or accidentally.

True. Trump's entire policy since the start of the year has also been that whichever side either won't negotiate something reasonable or doesn't show up is the one he's going to punish, either cutting Ukraine off entirely (lol yeah right), or sending Ukraine "what they need to win" to force the matter. Considering that Putin already officially annexed half the country, he either has to lose face and nullify it (unlikely) or let the mobiks suffer and beg for more help from Iran and North Korea..

He declared about 20% of the country to be Russian.
I think he would be willing to end the war with
a. Borders of Donetsk oblast
b. Oskil river as the border for Kharkiv oblast
c. Orikhiv and Hulyaipole in Zaporizhzhia oblast
d. Kursk incursion repelled

b, c, and d are a few months away but a. would take most of 2025 so Trump's plan to end the war in 24 hours would not be possible.

There is no amount of meat that Russia can send into kursk force a withdrawal because kursk is not the Donbass
In kursk, the russians don't have kilometre-deep minefields guarding every possible angle of attack except directly into the teeth of their assault forces, nor do they have ten years of military infrastructure build up to keep the meat flowing at optimal consistency
Kursk is open ground, famous tank country - and the ukies have the better tanks

Within the past 3 months the rate of capture in terms of area is about 15 km2 per day. The 3 images I posted are doable in 2 to 3 months at that rate. Then the battle for Pokrovsk would take a few months more, it won't be as hard as Bakhmut because of the widened front. The hard part is capturing Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Druzhkivka before the end of 2025.

you are assuming that the russians have those few months
the rains are starting to come to Ukraine, it's gonna be liquid shit for the next couple of months.
Then Trump gets in and starts his bid for peace by the time he ground freezes enough to allow for the advance to resume
He's probably going to at least ask for a cease fire while he works on hid bigly deal. So if russia wants to negotiate for a win or at least not piss of Trump personally they are going to give up part of the time window for a winter offensive.
Then it'll be the thaw.

only russians believe that
the US is more concerned about what would happen to russia and their nukes if they'd lose
western europe still hasn't full come around to this whore rearming thing as a thing the have to actually do
when it came to importing lmg they threw all the planing permits zoning ect out the window and got it done in a rush. But they aren't doing the same for the industry they need to rearm or to arm ukraine
claiming that russia uuuooooking about nuking is whats holding back western aid frankly just proves you aren't Western or that you're a retard
>>
>>62881625
Well there is no other reason NOT to send aid and the reason it hasn't been sent is 'muh escalation'. The only escalation that Russia can do is nukes. There is no additional system or weapon they can use to escalate. Yes they could attack a NATO member and maybe that's why they're scared (wow, we'd have to actually honor it? oh no!). Then again Russia brought North Korea directly into this war and everybody is just twiddling their thumbs looking out the window pretending another nation isn't now at war with Ukraine.

Just like the West has not acknowledged that Russia is technically at war with parts of the West due to signing a defence treaty with North Korea meaning they are now involved in the Korean War which did not end but is in a cease fire. Just like South Korea is considering forming a group to discuss creating a think tank to prepare a possible referendum to create a cabinet to discuss the possibility of maybe forming a governmental petition to perhaps maybe send something more than a comic sans written angry letter out.

The West is frightened to death about 'escalation' meanwhile Putin just laughs and grabs North Korea into the war and nobody does or says anything.

That isn't really how the current admin does things, they just want to avoid anything dramatic happening. That's why they very consistently gave Ukraine just enough to prevent Russia doing anything with major impact, but also too little for Ukraine do do anything with major impact.

Engels air base, all the Tupolevs, with Tomahawk Block V. And then every significant rail bridge possible within 300 miles of the front line.

Norks left NK and fired a gun. That violated about two more UN resolutions than Iraq did in 1990-1. Like 11.

North Koreans attacking eastern Europe is an unacceptable change to the game. Eight NATO countries already invoked Article 4. And that includes all the Baltics and Poland in particular. They have activate and rotated out their reserves and now have a standing army in excess of 500,000. They are on the verge of moving without NATO.

Okay then what is the end goal? At some point one side will break first and seeing as how Russia has dragged North Korea into this war directly, I suspect it will be Ukraine to break first (unless Ukraine gets given actual support that matters). What is the ultimate plan here? It has been very clear that the West hasn't wanted Ukraine to win decisievly. We can go back to the start when Scholz and Macron were calling for Ukraine to surrender (Macron even said Ukraine should cede territory so 'Putin could save face') and Israel called for Ukraine to surrender (weird!). UK was the only nation that stated their intended goals in supporting Ukraine; the return to pre-2014 borders. That isn't going to happen without massive support. I don't see that happening, especially when everybody bar USA being out of equipment to send (and the nations that COULD send stuff don't want to, see Turkey). So one way or another, Russia is going to get what it wants, even if it takes another half a decade. I don't understand this mindset. I don't understand what the West is hoping for here. The longer it goes on, the more sunk cost fallacy Putin runs into and the more determined he is to get out a 'win'. Is the goal here to make the war last so long that Putin just gives up and goes 'xaxaxa I took on all of NATO and won deazification complete!' because I am sure that won't be enough for him. So the goal for the West must be 'we'll help enough but in the end you're losing land Ukraine, sorry lol :)' and they can claim victory because not ALL of Ukraine was annexed and they totally did everything they could and how brilliant they were managing Putin.

Pathetic.

And immediately, within seconds, I get
>NO UKRAINE IS GETTING LOADS THEY'RE TOTALLY WINNING THEY DON'T NEED MORE THEY'RE FINE DON'T SEND MORE IT COST TOO MUCH DON'T YOU'RE A VATNIK SHILL!
It's weird. I'm just noticing things here, I should stop that.

>>62882194
Fuck off retard. You don't ignore strategic changes, it doesn't matter who or want, bringing in tens of thousands of troops changes the situation. Did you know during the Revolutionary War the French and Spanish contributed around 100,000 soldiers to the Americans? But I am sure they would have been fine without them! Fuck off you retarded mong.

But as I said, another case of 'NO UKRAINE IS GETTING ENOUGH SUPPORT' post. I guess that's the new IRA shill script from daddy Putin.

They can also inflict pain by opening up US oil production and LNG exports, which hurts Russia's primary source of cash.
>>
>>62882234
I dislike that strategy because it's leading to an enormous amount of pointless death, but the fact that Russia is sprinting to keep up with America's casual stroll means that they're utterly fucked in the long run.
>>
>>62882235
What does that have to do with anything? In the Revolutionary War, the British, at their height, had a global force of around 55,000 soldiers. Globally. The Revolutionaries had, in North American alone, around 65,000. Then they had 10,000 French added in and 60,000 odd attacking Gibraltar and other locations. Are you honestly telling me the introduction of 70,000-100,000 extra troops was not a vital part of why the Americans won? You're fucking retarded if you think so.
>b-b-but difference
If you give Russia 100,000 troops they will run those 100,000 troops in meat waves and take 5km. In the process, Ukraine loses troops, munitions and equipment. Then Russia does their meat waves. If you do not understand why giving one side 100,000 more men (and equipment) is an advantage then I don't know what to say and I am not going to waste my time on you.

Again, you're clearly sticking to your script of
>UKRAINE DOESN'T NEED MORE HELP THEY'RE FINE THY CAN TAKE ON RUSSIA AND NORTH KOREA AT THE SAME TIME E-Z WE SHOULD BACK OUT AND BUILD ROADS AND HOSPITALS IN USA OF THE YOU ESS EH RIGHT OHIO OBLAST BROS?
>>
>>62882245
That’s a part of the sanctions/soft power part of the negotiations. There’s already talks of trump already considering to do it. What they need is the hard power aspect, which they relied on Ukraine ability to strike deep into Russia. Which is now out of the table and there isn’t much to offer that the Biden administration hasn’t offered already.
>>
>>62882250
My point being, you fucking retard, is that France was a major power in the 18th century with a navy capable of contesting the British and enough national wealth to fund the US. The US revolutionary war was a fucking SIDESHOW to the actual war.
