https://www.defensemirror.com/news/38180/South_Korea__Peru_Sign_Multiple_MoU_in_Submarines__KF_21_Jet_Parts_and_Armored_Vehicles
>South Korea and Peru begun a new level of cooperation in the defense industry through the joint development of ships, submarines besides manufacture of KF-21 jet parts and armored vehicles.

>President Yoon Suk Yeol and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte announced the agreement on Saturday in a joint statement after their summit talks held on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Peru.

>In the joint statement, the two leaders said that cooperation in national defense and the defense industry has become a milestone in the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

>In the first, the Peruvian company FAME & Hyundai Rotem-STX signed a MoU for the acquisition, co-development, and technical transfer for the production of wheeled and tracked armored vehicles.

>In the second, the Peruvian company SIMA-Peru & Hyundai Heavy Industries held a ceremony for the start of construction of an Oceanic Patrol Vessel (OPV) and two Auxiliary Logistics Transport Units was held, with the leaders of the Republic of Korea and Peru signing the commemorative plaques celebrating the event. The two also signed an MoU for the co-development of submarines.

>In the third, The Peruvian company SEMAN & Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed a MoU for the production of parts for the KAI KF-21 Boramae.

>Interestingly, there are no reports as yet of Peru being interested in buying the KF-21 fighter jet from KAI. The aircraft is still going through its development phase and is expected to enter service in 2026-27. There is some speculation that South Korea is looking for an Indonesia-type co-development deal with Peru.

What is Peru up to recently? It seems to be hoarding as many Korean weapons as possible as if they're going to war.

>Peru will be the first LATAM country with stealth fighters and next gen MBTs
>Peru will be the first country in LATAM with the ability to build stealth aircraft parts
>Peru will soon have the most modern naval fleet in LATAM
>Peru will soon have the second strongest submarine fleet in LATAM after Brazil
>Peru is setting up a passenger rail network with help from the US government
>Peru will soon have the largest port in Latin America

Seriously what's going on with Peru? Did they find some huge resource reserve they have not announced yet?

>Peru will be the first LATAM country with stealth fighters and next gen MBTs
Fighters ok, but it's still a lot of talk, tanks... well, that's going to be a bit hard, we couldn't get new ones due SMO.
>Peru will be the first country in LATAM with the ability to build stealth aircraft parts
I really hope worst-koreans understand they are dealing with a people who understands 9am as "anywhere between 9:25am and 10:15am"
>Peru will soon have the most modern naval fleet in LATAM
This one may be right on spot, but will depend on Brazil, Colombia or Chile doing shit in the coming years
>Peru will soon have the second strongest submarine fleet in LATAM after Brazil
Same as before, it's not as much as we suddenly became good but our beloved cousins getting lazy
>Peru is setting up a passenger rail network with help from the US government
Good, also US wants to open its own port here and I can't imagine Orangie not trying to one up Xi.
>Peru will soon have the largest port in Latin America
I never thought about Chancay being that big but ok?

>Seriously what's going on with Peru? Did they find some huge resource reserve they have not announced yet?
Our current government isn't very popular, mostly after left-wing elements nearly took complete control but lost the gambit, see pic related to give you an idea of whom we are talking about, tankies, the old guard left in Peru who still equates Russia to the Soviet Union no matter if it makes zero sense, they indeed will talk about CIA being the reason why they got fucked over, one may wonder how you ended up with something like Chancay if CIA was such pros.
Anyway, the thing is, Gov seem to be taking this unique historic opportunity to get rid of tankie influence, militarily align ourselves with the West and call it a day. It's not like our armed forces have any chance to go back to soviet weaponry with SMO burning through russian stocks and production capabilities.

Ukrainian T55 upgrade program was already kill before 2022 IIRC. It was decided it was too old of a platform to bother upgrading. They just announced that Peru will acquire the K2 today.

The KF-21 is not a 5th gen and not fully stealth. It's a 4.5 plane.
The tank thing is nice though.
>Peru will be the first country in LATAM with the ability to build stealth aircraft parts
Nope, see above.

>Peru will soon have the most modern naval fleet in LATAM
Doubtful, Brazil takes the crown I think.

>Peru will soon have the second strongest submarine fleet in LATAM after Brazil
Maybe, you'll probably spark buys from Chile, Argentina and a few others if this comes through.

>Peru is setting up a passenger rail network with help from the US government
Nice.

>Peru will soon have the largest port in Latin America
Don't tell Daddy Trump China is building this.

Peru already has bought Korea vehicles and guns before and likes them a lot. They're buying the fancy IFV version of the K808 too.

doesn't the Peruvian president have like a 3% approval rating? Is the government in the position to make these kinds of a agreements?
>>
>>62887733
Yes, but it really doesn't account to much as long as the armed forces and the congress don't give a shit.

I hope Suomi sends something to Chile so we can see a South American campaign in the Finno-Korean hyperwar.
