I was looking into recently released pistols, & I saw that Sig Sauer have made selling a 40th anniversary version of the P226 pistol, kind of like Glocks retro gen 1 pistol, or the CZ 75 B retro. I think its designed after the first gen P226 pistols. I was interested in maybe looking into getting one, but from all the times I have browsed /k/, I have seen people talk about how Sig Sauer is cheap shit & not good, & after I read about the P320 misfiring, it kind of fucked over my view of the reliability of Sig Sauer firearms in general. Does any anons have experience with the P226 40th anniversary pistol?
milled slide not stamped. might as well call a gen3 glock a gen1.its fucking marketingshit not like glocks actual retro gun.this doesnt mean its bad if it costs the same as a normal 226 and its there and you wanted a 226 yeah buy it.cz75b retros were incorrect too.its not retro though.
>>62899968From what I've read, the P22X line is still good as long as you don't get a lemon. Luckily, a proper West German P226 will probably cost less than the 40th Anniversary one, and then you can dodge all potential quality issues and/or ethical dilemmas about supporting nuSig at all.
>>62899968If you don't have faith in the brand I don't know why you'd single that one out specifically. It's not like they use different parts for it.Anyway everything Sig makes other than the P320 is good. Though the MCX handguard thing is something to be aware of.>>62900025West German ones are rattly junk inferior to machined pistols in every single way. I'd rather have a US pistol than West German.

Woke is knowing exactly why the Military went with the Beretta 92. It really was the better gun. I can't hold onto a 226. Had 8 over the years, sold them all. If you want a super basic, no frills "retro" 226 with the short extractor; you can't go wrong with this one. It does 226 things. But then again, it does 226 things. Good luck with it. It's just overpriced for what it is and 200 dollars off the sticker price would have been fair
