we doing night vision?
I like my Ronin belt
>>64197339Is there a better slim helmet light/strobe than this that is actually rechargeable? These are perfect except for the fact that they can’t rechargeIdeally I’d like something that can at least do one vis color and IR
More drone shit. This is the darwinfpv cineape 25. It's an analog cinewhoop (larger than a whoop, intended to be the lightest external camera-carrying drone available) with a decent camera. The ducts protect the props and make it extremely durable for its size. It's the largest drone I'm capable of taking indoors, but it really takes a lot of skill to fly something this large in a normal house. I ordered it direct from the manufacturer on banggood or whatever that shady, temu-like site is. Took a month to get, but at 125 dollars (as opposed to the 250 it costs if you get it from a US retailer) it's by far the best handling and most durable cheap drone I've ever flown. It's a good choice for fellow larpers to get a capable, rugged drone that doesn't break the bank or look like a toy.
>>64197416You can switch the battery out, but it requires cutting the plastic open and this ruins waterproofing. The aliexpress ones are IMO cheap enough you can replace as you go.>>64197436Badass. Is it possible to rig a thermal cam to this? I'm thinking a real cheap, real light Armasight thermX or something similar. What's the practical weight limit?
>>64197465They make thermals specifically for drones, like this axisflying 640, which you can find for around 200ish. I haven't tried one yet, but it'll probably be my next purchase after I buy my airweight. For the cineape, I've had my old gopro mounted to it, which i think weighed about 100 grams. It was fairly taxing on the drone's battery life and handling, but 100 grams is pretty fucking heavy for a 200ish gram drone. The cineape is intended to be used with the smaller external cams like the insta360s.
>>64197522256x192 25fps is pretty low sensor-wise but not bad for aerial detection purposes. Theh 384 and 640 cost a lot more. Thanks!
Is this Hilo MOLLE Recon Chest Rig a good chest rig? Ticks all my boxes but not sure if there's any other options like it. A souped up TAPS rig with a lot of PALS webbing and hefty magazine storage by itselfhttps://midwestarmor.com/products/hilo-molle-recon-chest-rig/Also where can I find some good chest rig harnesses to go with it? Sucks it's not included for the price. What style of harness should I get?
>>64197392probably not. too many people don't have their priorities straight in this thread
>>64198482How much did this thing cost with the FLIR(?) on top of dual tubes.
Alright lads. Trauma pads behind standalone plates for BFD reduction. Yes/no? It's 0.37lb / 0.25"
>>64198630no
>>64198643y
>>64198647.25" of foam isn't doing anything but being hot.
>>64198659so double it lol
>>64198664more bulk and more heat. you're not going to make getting shot comfortable, so chasing after that is pointless.
What are the little padded seat things called that I see all the Ukranians wearing? I want one.
>>64198695Sitting mat.
>>64198682It sounds like he's going after the polyurethane AR500 trauma pads judging by the weight. These are marginal in every respect but are extremely cheap. Their "CLASSIFIED" Trauma+ pads are intergalactic meme tier. If we're being generous BFD could drop by maybe 5-10%. Could help with magnum rifle calibers, dependent on armor, but I'm grasping. If you really, really wanna reduce BFD you can take a page out of schelkovoschizo from last thread's book and rig Russian climatic amortization panels to your vest. These have the bonus of also providing ventilation.https://www.ebay.com/itm/387984044182These do allow otherwise very mediocre Granit plates to get BFD within very tight GOST specs, so there's an observable advantage. Is it worth the weight and thickness? Your call. Schelkovoschizo was insisting these are about 1.0".
>>64198695Sitting mats / butt pads. Jinwudun sells a IIIA ballistic version.
>>64198728How reliable is Jinwudun? I've seen the meme bulletproof skirt thing, but I've always just scrolled past and never actually went to the site. Now I see they have helmets and lbe's for decent prices.
>>64198743They're getting a lot of traction lately since Militech is still being a little bitch with the $150 US shipping fee. I'll give you the pros and cons.CONS:1. No NIJ certifications. None.2. They're Chinese.3. They're rather thin on test reports even by Chinese standards.4. Unlike Militech, they're also short on youtube tests.5. Plates are often cheat-ringed and overall construction is usually a step behind Militech, even with the full coverage plates. They're comparable to second division Chinese outfits like Aholdtech. Militech's RF3 Black mogs them.PROS:1. Their number one customer is the Russian Federation. The armor skirt and other high-coverage soft armor in particular. I guess that's a pro but Russia's armor situation is abysmal so maybe not. 2. VERY wide variety of soft armor, including progressive high coverage setups. They sell extremity armor other companies aren't even thinking of yet.3. Shields!4. Helmets, including applique plates and a dubious ~5lb Level III helmet. Reminds me of that 5.2lb face shield...5. Face shields! IIIA+! 6. Prices are all extremely affordable for what you "get."7. They claim to not charge you import fees.Overall, they're uncharted water as a company but much of their equipment is novel and extremely affordable. Due to a a lack of NIJ certs or other reliable indicia of reliability they're in a gray area. I don't think they're selling shit, like American Blast or Linry, but QC is unproven.
>>64198799I don't really care about the NIJ certifications, I'm not really looking for 'bullet proof' stuff. I already have plates and a carrier. I was more just looking at the helmet, because I don't really feel like paying $400 for a team wendy bump helmet. 5 lbs is pretty rough though, as far as weight. As far as the butt pad goes, another thing that I don't really care if it's bullet proof.
>>64198807The 5lb helmet is expressly for stopping multiple hits of 7.62x51mm M80. That is very high protection by helmet standards. Their bumps and IIIA are much, much lighter. Their knockoff Wendy bumps are like $110.If you don't care about ballistics there's no point in paying $149 smacks for their buttocks guard.
>>64197392Yeah sure.Lord I look like a wide feller in this photo>>64198728>butt pads>Jinwudun sells a IIIA ballistic version.
>>64198836Jinwudun sells IIIA ballistic everything. They do custom orders too. Could ask them to make a IIIA bra to go with their skirt. IIIA bobs and vageneI'm curious if their 10x13.8" or whatever plates are Russian contract. That size is very similar to some of FORT's stuff.
>>64198852https://youtu.be/qSBna3Y-Iyo?si=Shbzre3kTGhSpFRF&t=33He would later find out she bought them at Jinwudun's Secret, where for a limited time we'll rip that PASGT off you and give you a Japanese school uniform made completely out of Kevlar, GUARANTEED!
>>64198886*UHMWPEThey make it all out of polyethylene bro. That's bad. Japanese schoolgirls gonna be strutting around like the michelin man with how inflexible that's gonna be.It's odd, but I noticed China seems to not like aramid / para-aramid fibers much. They vastly prefer PE. Didn't even attempt PBO (Zylon...) when that was a thing. What a pity. Could have had a 3.2lb Level IV for $399...
>>64198905>Could have had a 3.2lb Level IV for $399...Just don't get shot my boy. The First Aid handbook is making getting shot sound less horrifying than what it is.
>>64198941Not a problem. We'll use Jinwudun III+ shields to approach enemy vehicles. Allied universal SOF style.
Can anyone help me with real/fake spotting? Want to buy this localhttps://imgur.com/a/mqIsRZuhttps://imgur.com/a/dNW7FEy
>>64199813Call Vortex and give them the serial number. They can run it to see if it checks out. Also try to get a picture of the glass from the front.
>>64198721Just had a thought. It's been previously said that the Adept Colossus can withstand .50 BMG ball at 500 yards with an unspecified muzzle velocity. This is consistent with some other Level IV plates. They stop the round but the BFD is nuts and way beyond NIJ standards. There's no test report to substantiate the regular Colossus .50 BMG claim. It would require some pretty serious testing, but I'm curious if a KAP panel behind the plate could significantly reduce that standoff by reducing BFD and thus behind armor blunt trauma.
>>64197392>have a PVS14 >does that annoying thing where it turns on and off randomly while im walking around with it (at an NVG shooting class)>get it repaired>want to take it out on a campiut with me last weekend>hook a PVS14 recording camera to it>opt test both in my garage the night before>hyped to film wildlife and show the bros afterwards>get innawoods and wait for the sun to drop>PVS14 will not power on, try a few brand new batteries, no fix>give it the ol' tap tap to see if i can costless it working again, no fix>not even the IR illuminator is getting powerWhy are you like this?
>>64201119>Hop's advice that analog will outlast digital is aging like milk. >Regular airshitters with nvg30s beating their cheap digi to hell and it still runs.It sounds like you got electrical gremlins and the initial repairs didn't hold up.
Gentlemen, a new poorfag thermal has arrived. Owlshine OWS-390. 9 or 19mm lens, 320 sensor, 800G shock rating, apparently 50hz. $480 with import charges included on the 9mm version.>https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809238716122.html?This looks fundamentally like a budget version of the Infiray HL13 thermal red dot. $480 is damn cheap.
>>64201119open it up and check if the contact springs are getting 3Von mine I just had to slightly bend one of the springs further out to make the connection solidno IR is weird though. maybe one of the connections to the battery compartment got nicked during the repair
>>64201320I'd say short circuits, but I'm no electrician
>>64201224>322 eurosIf I wasn't already equipped with a thermal scope, I would
The future is digital quad nods, Militech plates, cheap Chinese thermals, and near full-coverage Jinwudun armor / helmets. Because nobody can ruck with all this shit, we'll strap our shields to yamaha dual sports and become the bi/k/er gang. This is known. We'll even get swordier steel lances to penetrate enemy aholetechs because the cost of ammo in 2030 is too high.
>>64201477Ok but what if you get droned
>>64201224I hope that's an effect of taking a picture of a screenMaybe the anon with the nerf NVG will try it
>>64201485It's going to be a dog shit screen. They need to save money everywhere to afford the camera which makes up the majority of the cost.
>>64201457It would make for a decent shotgun thermal since it's a reflex and has unlimited eye relief. As usual, jury is out as to whether it can handle recoil. Also need to know how often it NUCs.
>>64201494it would be nice on a .22lr rifle for rat hunting
>>64201493Germanium lens is the expensive bit. It's tiny here.>>64201485Possibly just it refreshing, but yeah that's a bad screen.>>64201483I think that's why they're wearing Jinwudun with shields and lances on bikes. Just poke the drones. Parry the blast with your buckler.
>>64201501The last thermal camera I was looking at either for a DIY thermal or a DIY thermal drone was around 400 dollars. Cheaper one for 200.
>>64201498The issue with screen thermals is that they give off visible light from the screen and backlight your face. This has been an issue since the SIG Echo 1.IMO it's probably best for quick, reactive shooting in poor visibility. Thermals can often see through smoke.
>>64201501it looks better in their video, maybe moire effect with the pixels, if I find 300 euros lying on the ground I'll try itIs there a reason it is not available in the search results nor when listing the products of the seller ?
>>64201505How big was the lens? Note the cost goes up about $200 for this owlshine between the 9mm and 19mm version.
>>64201224oh it seems everybody and their dog is having a shot at that thinghttps://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005008612751308.html?
>>64201147Except what he said is that digital NV is currently not better than analog, and wont be for a while, which is still currently true. Do tell me what digital is being sold that fixes all the flaws he pointed out
>>64201519Not sure. It seems to have literally just launched. Aliexpress search is notoriously ass so it maybe hasn't indexed yet.Notably you can switch between the 9mm and 19mm lenses like how the Oneleaf can switch between its three lens sizes. That's neat.
>>64201526oh i realized it is derived from a thermal camera for drones the chinese are certainly shitting by the hundreds per week these days
>>64201527I watched the same video, he did IIRX bring up that digital doesn't last as long as analog, specifically quoting that he replaces his phone every 1-2 years. Man burns through phones. There's no digital that competes evenly with good GEN-2 on actual performance. I think anon was taking the piss. Airsofters do get surprising mileage from nvg30s.>>64201526Thermal reflex sights are really getting popular in China. ZIYOUHU has the $890 NT19 dual thermal / digital "NV" with a 256x192 thermal sensor. Similar sensor specs to the ~1.5k Holosun DRS-TH but with digital NV as well. The Holosun is IMHO badly overpriced. This new Owlshine mogs both of them on sensor resolution and is super cheap.Infiray has the upmarket HL15 and HL25, which have seen some combat use in Ukraine.SIG previously had the Echo 1 (shit) and Echo 3.
>>64201535Which makes me a little hesitant on it holding zero if it is just a drone cam. Explains why it's half the cost of a ZIYOUHU or a third of the DRS-TH, both of which have 256x192 clown sensors.
>>64201347question is if it's a shitty chinese srcsky housing. they're known for traces failing and arcing randomly.
>>64201650Wouldn't that have come up when the guy sent it to be repaired?"Hey bro this happened because the housing is ass."
>>64201650My prediction is he got a shitass "repair"man to fix it, supposedly went from turning off randomly to not turning on at all
>>64201874I agree. That seems to be the crux of the issue. The dude at the best buy help desk didn't test it out.
Working on a Highcom buyers guide infographic. Gonna be honest, they lose to Hesco in every single category except steel, which Hesco doesn't sell, homeless-tier Level IV, which Hesco also doesn't sell, and the Highcom 3S9M vs Hesco 3814 "III++" bracket. The 3S9M is the only Highcom so far that outperforms its Hesco counterpart. Sad.
>>64202219Guide? How about "don't fucking buy Highcum"? Come on, nigga
>>64202247It's a guide to not buy Highcum bruther. People ain't gonna buy it when they see the 3S14M is $1,845 a set but weighs 0.3lb more than the Hesco 3810 that's only $1,200 a set, or 0.7lb heavier than the 3811 that's still hundreds cheaper. The 4S17M is 0.7lb heavier than the 4403.The 4S16 is 0.6lb lighter than the 4403 but lacks drop foam. Also more money. No NIJ cert (duh). The Highcom AR1000 is 7.1lb for a 9.5x12.5" and magically 5.9lb for a 10x12"The 3S9M is 0.6lb lighter, 0.08" thinner, but can't stop M2AP like the Hesco 4601 that is actually cheaper.People need to know brother. This lineup is stuck in 2014.
