>>64251661Should we stock up on Ukrainian surplus? Will it increase in value after the war? (I don't think Ukraine will be in a position to continue producing equipment)
>>64251921where do you even get it besides ebay
>>64251900They still ghosting you? lol
>>64251639>Old: >>64197339 #Did I miss anything? I don't want to read the thread.
>>64252235I just mean in general. After Ukraine (probably) loses I don't think there will be many genuine uniforms or anything in wide circulation (at least not after a while)
Random question: what can you realistically do when you get shot on the neck, and what can you do to prevent it?
About to pull the trigger. From Sierra tac. Good buy?
>>64252640Yeah, that's good. Not super-high-speed plates, but they're solid and should do the job. There's nothing better at a similar price.
>>64252649Appreciate it. ordering now
Thoughts on the Eighty-Four Pattern 84 plackard sold by KS? Also, is the Eighty-Four flame retardant balaklava g2g? Anyone have first-hand experience? It's the Arc'teryx knockoff.
>>64252640jesus christ those prices. Why not just get italian ones for 50$ that are like 2 pounds
>>64251661Don't Mechanix gloves melt? I'd hate to have molten plastic on my hands in combat.
>>64252977Unless you could fling flaming, molten plastic at your enemies while yelling, "Eat flaming, molten plastic, my enemies!! Reeee!". That would be worth it.
>>64252977Whether you need high temp gloves depends on your specific exposure to high temp. If you're not running a suppressor that you need to stow as soon as you're done using it, you probably don't really need high heat resistant gloves.
>>64252262Hell yeah brother I think Rachel must have promoted from tacshit to Highcom with Apex on the side.>>64252302Steel plates suck ass, RMA sucks slightly less ass, Highcom sucks around as much ass as RMA but has NIJ certs insulating the ass-suckage.>>64252563Neck armor. Militech, ebay police surp, mehler vario and tencate even make neckplates if you've got a line on them.>>64252640Sorry for the late reply, the 4403 is the most reliable certified entry-level IV on the market. Beats the Highcum 4S17M and RMA 1155's asses.>>64252833The Italians are from the late dark ages (0101.03), all-PE, can be compromised by mere temperature and anons have tested them to lose against 7.62x39 mild steel core, which is awful even by all-polyethylene standards. Normally all-PE plates can easily handle that. M855 out of even an ARP will very likely destroy them. This is basic ammo we're talking about here. The Hesco 4403 is much heavier but is a stout, certified solution against .30-06 M2AP and everything below it. M855A1, M80A1, BZ API, M61 AP, M855 easily, M193 easily. With armor you get what you pay for. If a deal's too good there will be a catch.
>>64253015I was thinking more like in combat, napalm, phosphor, thermobarics, burning buildings, burning vehicles, hot barrels (a really good name for gun/military themed gay porn...), you know, hot stuff. Same with any shirts you wear. You don't want it melting on you.
>>64252833Wait until you see what the 4801 costs.>>64252333I think Russia will be damn broke and it's possible they start robbing peter to pay paul more than usual, so the surplus ebay market might get super hot for a while.Cheap granits might be a worthy alternative to the new breed of poverty plates like the 4SAS4, but it has to be kept in mind they need both soft armor and a KAP climate panel to work.
>>64253154>Cheap granitswhere though
>>64253156After the war ends and whoever's in charge needs money to stay afloat. Both Ukraine and Russia have really shitty domestic armor industries (a lot is C or even D-grade chinese white label) so expect a lot of trash with the treasure. Anyone remember those Atlas BR-6 plates ostensibly rated for 3x 12.7x108mm B-32 API? Or the Hyperions? Even UARM has had failures. There used to be lines on getting cheap granits in 2017-2018 but there was always the risk of getting realistic weight airsoft fakes. Also the real ones would be labeled as airsoft to escape customs so you'd be playing russian roulette with half the chambers loaded as to whether you'd get screwed. You can still buy them but the prices are jacked.
>>64253030I see your point, but I also feel like the standard-setter in tactical gloves being made of fiber that melts to your skin instead of burning off would be bigger news.
>>64251639I got 2 of these ucp IFAK kit pouches that they advertised as holding 7 usgi stanags. but I'm at an odds, surely these modern setups are team based, like what the fuck are you going to to with 120 rounds providing your own covering fire. my guy you have 4 magazines on your person and you chose to nerf yourself.Fucking A the guys in somalia had at least 12, nobody is going to resupply you.
>>64253258The old adage continues to hold true. Mission dictates equipment. If the situation permits, operation duration is real short, and you value keeping mobility then four magazines is enough to hit a house with five other dudes and dip in thirty minutes. If you have no resupply and are providing your own covering fire, as you describe, then a case can be easily made for 12+ magazines. We've got at least two anons that are rolling split vests with 2x Condor MA33s, so they've got 18+1 on deck and ready to go.
>>64253258completely depends on what you're even doingI can carry a BRICK of .22 on me, hundreds of rounds. I'm not looking to rambo through a firefight or keep someone down with suppression if anything it's a shoot and scoot if a shot has to be taken at alland I do need to down someone I'm busing out a long rifle but that could still be a .22
>>64253269you make a great point, but what if we wanted to have our ass be heavy
>>64253258doesn't matter when you get cut off from your team from extraordinary circumstances. And with the world on schedule to burn, you're gonna need plenty until the next safe haven.
>>64253291Then buy those Blackhawk triple cell pouches that can fit 4x3 stanags. 24 mags on the vest sucka.>>64253299I'm thinking people might wanna revisit laser dazzlers given the circumstances. That guy on ebay is still selling 200mW LA-12 GLIS dazzlers on the cheap. Must have sold forty by now. I can attest it's brutally fucking bright and the strobe is wicked.
anyokne knows a pouch thatll go on these two hooks?
>>64252563Large bore IV's (probably intraosseous), transfusion on the spot if possible, pack the wound as best you can, get airway secured, transport to vascular surgery. In the case of Kirk, he was dead on the spot. You could see his spinal cord was severed. I was actually DMing a paramedic buddy while that happened and we were in disbelief how people could think he's "in critical condition" and not dead.
>>64251639>Bearded man wears M50 with no filters editionGodspeed STALKER
>>64252333>After Ukraine (probably) losesAny day now.
Savotta jakaari S + 2 4L side pockets (potentially another 2 4L or 3x4 or 3x3 on the front) vs savotta kahakka 25 + 2 4L pouches?I'd be using it as an assault pack as a motor rifleman, both hot temperate and very cold conditions. I'd be carrying a puffer or lvl7 jacket, spare socks, ammo, medkit, batteries, food, water, poncho, rain pants, maybe some additional random shit they give to me etc
>>64252563>what can you realistically do when you get shot on the neckJam your thumb into the wound and hope you have someone around to drive you to the hospital before you pass out.https://youtu.be/1449kJKxlMQ
>>64253614Something with zipties added.
>>64253019>Steel plates suck ass, RMA sucks slightly less assThx, I think I caught this from the last 50 threads.
>>64252563I would press O to dodge away.Maybe go for a cheeky parry with my off-hand.
>>64254405and now Highcom sucks ass too. Also LTC can't make good Level IVs. The suckage is rising. Soon they will have no choice but to buy... Hesco.
>>64253019>4403 is the most reliable certified entry-level IVRate me. This purchase was based upon /gq/ rec from the NY shooter days.
>>64255348You did good. The 4401 is a lightly revised 4400 that resolved that plate's NIJ suspension. The 4403 is described by Hesco as a better plate, but the 4401 still beats out the 4S17M / RMA 1155 and competes evenly with the LTC 26605.
>>64255367Tanks. Now just a carrier. Prolly just a JPC 2.0. And a slick, I have 2 pairs.
>>64255376Those'll do. Fortunately, you didn't fall for the Highcom 4S17M or RMA 1155 like le plebbiters did back during the Hesco suspension shitshow.
>>64252803I have two 84 pattern mag pouches and they're heavy duty, maybe to much so. the elastic is VERY strong and makes it kind of a pain to remove anything that's not a smooth STANAG mag, but that should break in. also, on the individual pouches the bottom edge is pointy but that should be fairly easy to fix.
>>64255376>slickIf I don't just get 2 JPC2.0s, can anyone rec a undershirt slick carrier? Looking to go low profile here.
>>64255854Ferro slickster?
>>64255873>Ferro slicksterSold. Now all I need is a cool velcro patch.
>>64255972Hit up the patches thread here or ebay sellers.
>>64256004>patches threadLiteral dorks. Picrel is from my ebay cart.
>>64256074Those are pretty chill. Now if you wanna get swanky get up on aliexpress. Embrace the AI-generated elite tactical operator hookloop patch 2x3 free shipping future.
