I've been musing about how early consumer androids would manage to look "human-ish" enough that most people would form empathetic attachments to them (since obviously corporations would want that to happen, emotional manipulation is where the good money is) without getting into the creepy ass uncanny valley that pretty much all but the highest end unaffordable for most luxury models would be guaranteed to have if they tried to go down the "silicone human" route.Best idea I came up with is early mid-ranger consumer androids the average person would buy would be modeled after things like porcelain dolls, stiff plastic faces that don't move so the expressions can't feel "off," proportions exaggerate just enough to make them look more artificial than "imitation human," just seems like the logical choice until technology gets to the point where indistinguishable from human androids get cheap enough for the general market.
