New Heckcat chambered in .380 ACP
>>64398816Is a full size USP a waste in 9MM? I just want one but not committed to .45 yet.
QRD on Ruger revolvers? Especially the GP100 stainless steel .357.
>>64398863It’s more affordable to shoot in both ammo and recoil, .45 doesn’t hurt but after a while your hands start getting tired. I am not convinced a lot of the “muh .45 USP” guys actually shoot their gun except a few based few. Just comes with the mythology of the gun that attracts people like that
>>64398863No, why would it be a waste? In my opinion it's really better in .45 or .40, but 9 is fine too. If you're not sold on another caliber, don't feel like you have to buy another caliber.
Reposting from last threadThis was my first attempt at shooting ever; I used a 9x19 Glock at 7m distance. I have some questions and I'm taking any tips /hg/ can throw at me. Bear in mind I live in a noguns country- odds are very high that I'll be joining law enforcement soon- I'm already considering buying a handgun as soon as I join LE. Taking into account the fact that I will not larp with my gun, which one would you recommend? Should I get better sights than the regular iron sights?- if time permits, I might be able to travel to the US for a quick stint, I would most likely visit Chicago because I have some pending business there. What are some decent gun shops there, if any? Thanks for the advice so far, I never felt mogged by Americans before seeing here just how easily you guys can get a hold of any gun ever made under the sun
I don't even know what a B8 is
>>64398903what country anon?fiber or glowing iron sights are good, better at least than the factory ones. BTW, did you shoot with both eyes open?
>>64398903I dry fire a bunch at the target at the range and try to pay attention to where my sights are drifting then I shoot. It helps shake out any jumpiness and warms you up a bit.
>>64398915Huezil. Yes I did, it was uncomfortable at first but it became better with time. I probably took 3 to 4 seconds between shots, whether I was adjusting my aim or my elbows.
>>64398925I've seen people dry firing at the range, did that once and got a malfunction right after dry firing the gun 5 times.
>>64398908Looks like an RSh-12
>>64398925Unfortunately I'm still a noguns faggot so I can't practice yet
>>64398863What do you want to use it for? I just can't regularly manage to carry a full size handgun so to me a USP is usually just for fun. To me it's limited to a range toy or a or a home defense or cold weather (easy concealment) gun. 9mm makes a better range toy, but if you want a range toy a 1911 is a better one. You can run .45+P and .45 super in a .45acp USP, that's a potent defensive round. Also, in 9mm capacity is the advantage, and a 9mm USP is down 2 rounds vs a modern full size. In .45acp it's either at par or down one.IMO the real interest in USPs is the aesthetic and the fact that they're a robust and quality DA/SA handgun. Since my only other HK was a MK23, I went with a .45 USP.
>>64398873>I am not convinced a lot of the “muh .45 USP” guys actually shoot their gunIt’s wild how often I see this cope from 9mm fangirls. They’ll even say it when the subject is 1911s/2011s. To be fair I haven’t shot the USP itself in a while.
>>64398903Target sights or a pistol optic aren't going to make a difference at seven metres if you keep flinching [anticipating recoil]. Here's my groups with combat sights at 13.7m
>>64398978SPB
>>64398974If you actually shoot your guns then I wasn’t talking about you. 9mm is just more economical to shoot. Ergonomically too, I don’t know about you but after 400 rounds of .45 in one sitting my hands ache for days.
>>64398981
>>64398863The USP is overbuilt for 9mm but I wouldn't call it a waste. It still shoots well and is a reliable tank of a pistol. I have a .45 at the moment but I plan on getting a 9 to go with it because I just like them.
>>64398863The real problem is its stupid mag release
>>64398829I don't see the point when the Bodyguard 2.0 exists but I'm happy to see .380 ACP get more adoption.

>>64398903>>64398938How do you guys feel about the Taurus brand?
>reposting250 rounds through 20x bobcat, had to call it short at the range, got distracted showing a buddy the basics of trap shooting when he wrapped up with his handgun anyways. Kind of a welcome distraction, I was experiencing a lot of light strikes, failures to fully cycle, and failures to eject. Only twice did I have to use a knife to pry the brass out, it only took a few seconds as opposed to the stories I've heard of folks having to spend several minutes trying to get it free. Reliability improved over time, and I was expecting a break in period of about 150 rounds.>Used cci minimags, consensus seems they are the bobcat's favorite>Underloaded the magazines, consensus is that on the older models if you overloaded them with the extra space or even just fully loaded them, it could cause issues on your second shot, haven't heard much about that with the 20x but played it safe>Fucking BABIED the gun with some balistol and q-tips for the barrel every 40-60 shots or soMy plan right now is>Get at least another 250 or so rounds through it and see how much things improve, probably try federal punch and velociters to see if my particular gun has a better appetite for those>After that, polish the barrel and chamber or have a gunsmith do so when I drop off a Rossi>Pick up a suppressor (already paid for) when the transfer tax drops, am sure this will help with the gas cycling and might even fully resolve the ejection issueAny anons here have feedback on my current plan, or recommendations on other things to try?>Inb4 ditch itI know some of you love to hear yourselves talk. Spare me. This is a range toy, this is me dipping a toe into semi-auto ownership, this is a .22 because it is cheap and fun to practice with, I like that it looks cool. I know bobcats have a reputation for being finicky, I also know friends to swear by their dependability and many owners have zero issues. I am not a quitter faggot, just looking for tips as I try to dial it in.
>>64399090
>>64399205I like the plan, you can try cci uppercuts too if you want another choice.
>>64399227
>>64398829Wow exactly what nobody asked for! Well actually, there's this faggot I know of that uses BNPL to purchase a shit ton of turkshit guns.
>>64398990>400 rounds of .45 in one sitting my hands ache for days.Out of curiosity, polymer frame or steel? With my 1911 I'll only get the tingles for about a day after.
380 chads keep on winning
>>64399715I wish Smith would make the Equalizer in 380. I love my EZ 380, but I want more capacity and optics cut!
>>64399793Just buy low recoil load 9mm for the equalizer. .380 is a waste of money, way more expensive than 9mm
OP didn't link the previous: >>64377438
>>64398990Shoot 200 rounds of 45 and 200 rounds of 9mm instead. It takes me roughly an hour to shoot 200 rounds of ammo.
Is it true that CZ helped the Canadian government destroy 10,000 confiscated firearms?
>>64399024Stop using niggerbabble
>>64396726My wife can shoot my 4.25" 686-6 with 158gr FMJ 357 Mag just fine, and she's maybe 120lbs at most. You can gamble on a Taurus. Hell, nowadays it's a crapshoot if either Taurus or S&W are good, but I know S&W will at least fix it without hassle or delay, I don't know about Taurus.
>>64399686Both. I’m thinking of upgrading to a steel grip module
>>64398938Guy you were replying to.I'm from Argentina, neighbor, up to last year I was a no gunz too, now I've got three and looking forward to buy my fourth and fifth gun.Have fun and learning to reload is a must in our countries.

>>64398864>GP100 stainless steel .357certified heckin wholesome chungus
>>64399165Serviceable, but despite being our local producer out law enforcement agencies mostly use imported guns, so that says something about Taurus.>>64400483Thanks hermano, I will have to learn everything about guns because, as I said, I'll be joining law enforcement very soon
>>64399998I handload so price is irrelevant and I like 380. Besides, low recoil loads are more likely to jam and that is a no no in a defensive handgun.
>>64399165Good as range toys as they are cheap, yet serviceable, but I wouldn't carry one. You certainly can, but I just don't trust then as much as my Rugers, Smiths (pistols), or Glonks and I own both so there is no reason to not carry the superior options.
>>64400483>I'm from ArgentinaWhy don't your people season food? Asado is pretty great though.>>64398903For a novice that group is honestly really good. How are you holding the pistol when you shoot? I found that modern samurai's wave grip really helped improve my groups and allowed me to aim better with faster strings of fire. https://youtu.be/zXTmdzurFrM?si=xhTk7phgTGG872IM
>>64400743> Why don't your people season food? They’re the true whites
>>64400621>I will have to learn everything about guns because, as I said, I'll be joining law enforcement very soonBut you like guns, right? You will enjoy when you are not on duty? Also other Brazilian told me that .40 is cheaper then 9mm.
Thinking about getting a 2011 again, but those prices hurt my inner poorfag. Are they that much better than other competition guns?
>>64400896Just get a Prodigy for $1100.
>>64400896They are the best, but not really that much better than a steel framed CZ or tangyfolio. It’s just preference that gravitates people to them. There are multiple options below 1k for a 2011 like Tisas, MAC, LFA Apollo (US made)
Im looking for a cheap da/sa revolver for my dad, are Taurus and the Ruger LCR shit? I just dont want him to buy a clapped out Iver and stick me with the job of fixing it
>>64400930Do turks make revolvers?
>>64399090>its stupid mag releaseSkill issueButtons, levers, cylinder release, none of that shit bothers me.The only retarded way to unload a mag or cylinder is heel release, now thats fucking dumb.
>>64400930Why not get an old S&W model 36?
>>64400930Taurus revolvers in .38 special are generally good. I’ve seen issues with the ported .357, .44, .454 models where the ports are cut badly. Charter Arms is a U.S. brand and is throughly budget and stands by their product with a lifetime warranty
I want a P211 so bad guys.. this thing is fucking perfect.. factory comped, g10 grip, good irons, takes cheap mags
>>64401168Make a Wish Michael is out Feature wise it’s very good. People are complaining about the triggers are loose and have vertical play in the channel that should be ZERO. Fusion Firearm Glock 2011 feels really good in the hand and has an XC version coming.
>>64401221>funko pops
>>64401221If you can physically verify the trigger bar isn't wiggling in the channel in the grip it doesn't matter, but also yes for $2400 they should probably be handfitting the trigger shoes, which is a basic operation that 1911 guys do in a couple minutes
>>64400896Yeah 2011s are great, the trigger is impressive and the good ones do legitimately shrink your groups to 1/2 of what they may otherwise be. The gun just does so much of the work for you. Plus, racking the high dollar ones feels like sliding wet glass on glass, it's unbelievable. That being said, with practice and a $900 CZ shadow 2 or even my $380 Arex with a couple $80 upgrades I shoot about as well as a nice 2011 that cost 5-10x as much. Not as well, but really fucking close. It's probably taken me about 5,000 rounds and an unknown ammount of hours with that arex to get my groups to that level, where the Atlas 2011 I shot my first two 7 yard 10 round groups were as good if not better than my best Arex groups. Up to you and your budget which path you choose. Humble marksman did an interesting video on a new sig 226 that talked about how he likes shooting his 2011s more and they FEEL better, but his groups and splits weren't really any better vs this $1,200 pistol. https://youtu.be/RnfpQhqk7IE?si=lc0g4z8zNDLi-OcVLeft is slow fire, right is fast fire with the Atlas Athena. I think the range rental guy told me all together it cost about $6,000 for this 2011 setup.
>>64401289And here's the groups I was putting down with the arex before the spring and trigger upgrades. Do you have more money than time? A nice 2011 may be right for you since it will cut the training time needed to get great groups.
>>64401221>that should be ZERO>doesn't know how 1911 triggers work
>>64401247At $2400 nobody is fitting triggers. I don't think you get that until almost double that price.>basic operation in a couple of minutesDefinitely not.
>>64400930Just get the 357 mag version of the LCR and tell him to shoot 38s. It's good right out of the box and is light, but not so light that it sti gs to shoot. The 38 special version is good too, but is a bit too light for my tastes. Taurus are decent, but have a high lemon rate and really bad customer service. Smith J frames are traditionally good, but lately they have had a higher lemon rate as well, though nowhere near Taurus and they will fix them as well with little issue.>>64400993Charter Arms is about on par with Taurus with the lemon rate, but will fix them no questions asked. They will even sell you parts which is pretty cool imo. I kinda want to get one of their double dogs.
>>64401221You should feel bad for giving funko money for those disgusting little blocks of shit.

>>64402267KEK
>>64402183They are blowback and don't have extractors so you only want to run high and hyper velocity stuff through them. Otherwise, yeah you could polish the chamber it would probably help extraction. Sticky extraction can sometimes be from a worn tool at the factory making the chamber a bit rough. If the gun is clean and it doesnt have machine marks, its probably a rough chamber and you can to try to get it polished. The light strikes could be from having too light of a hammer spring, a firing pin that's too short or damaged, bad ammo (most likely culprit), or even the channels for the firing pin and hammer being roughly machined and slowing the hammer and pin down. I don't have a 20x or 30x so I don't really know what their QC is like at the moment so I couldn't really guess what exactly it is without looking at it. It'll get better over time and you can speed that up a little by just working the action by hand a lot to wear in the slide and frame fit. The chamber getting polished will help with the sticky extraction, but I would probably try to send it to beretta for warranty before spending money on a gunsmith. They may be able to do something about the light strikes at least.

Imagine an alternate universe where Steyr went all-in marketing this thing in 1999 and pitching it to police departments. Looking back, there wasn't a good all around Glock competitor on the US mass market until the M&P and XD in the mid 2000s, so Steyr really blew it not taking advantage of the US private/LEO market. I know the Walther P99 was there, but it was more expensive.
>>64403000I'm more surprised that HK didn't push harder since they made the first good selling striker gun
>>64403000I had one of those in 40 and another A1 model in 9mm. Neither would return to battery worth a shit. If it is tiny and cool or cute, I don't really care. It just has to use real, non-proprietary cartridges because I ain't playing with no pin fire shit.
hi /hg/, are there any quirks/issues I should know about the Ruger Blackhawk before I pull the trigger? Got my eye on a new model .357/9mm one.
>>64403511Water.
>>64403591Is good to go. I love my flat top converter. I even got a holster for it and carry it for style. (Sometimes I leave the house with three single action revolvers on me just for giggles) 9mm cylinder may be a bit less accurate as 9mm uses .355 bullets whereas 38/357 uses .357, but that won't really matter because you will mostly use the 9mm cylinder for cheap steel case plinking ammo.
>>64403621Forgot pic of my triple threat

>>64403587Sorry for the slow reply was finding out whats in stock now days. Check out the Zastava M70, they're pretty neat and tiny for a surplus pistol, atlantic arms has em for $225. As for modern stuff the BG 2.0 is crazy good if you haven't tried one. My buddy had one of the Rubys which are a super cool spanish WW1 pistol but they're sort of garbage because each pistol was fitted to each mag, so 100 years later they all got mismatched and now a relatively reliable design for it's time is seen as a jammomatic. Theres also like 100 iterations without any real designation so some Rubys are like 50% as long in the grip or have entirely different geometry, it's a wild rabbit hole to go down my buddy autistically babbled about for awhile. It is more about seeking validation, reposting pictures of the same handguns (some utterly unremarkable, but even the genuinely cool ones are eventually tedious to ogle every thread), and berate each other over bafflingly narrow differences of opinion. If it were me, I would feel satisfied to already own a few glocks, the 19 in particular (I don't own any, and that is probably the one I would buy), and budget my money towards something different. But, I'm not really a glock stan, and prefer a more varied array of guns in the safe, just a minimalist sensibility. What is attracting you to the .45, is it a caliber you tend to like in the hand, or is it a 'completionist' type of urge to round out your glock family?

>>64406386>JPHs?No, 135gr "FlexLock" with a polymer insert but I might be replacing them with 124gr HST in the coming months because of the outrageous prices for Critical Duty these days
>>64406459Yeah you can get HSTs for less than half homie.
>>64406493The 20rd boxes with the clear case you typically see a gun shops are a total waste of money. It's cheaper to buy the 50rd LE boxes.
>>64406506Do you buy your ammo in store? Much cheaper to do online
Anyone make holsters for USP Elites? Only one I could find is the one from Matchweight with the matchweight on it.
>>64406536A mixture of online and gun shows since in some cases the cost with shipping isn't worth it.
I've gotten to the point that I don't care about hollow points anymore and just carry 380 flat nose FMJ. Soft shooting, your practice ammo is the same that you carry, and your carry ammo is cheap so you can stock up on it. While this is stupid in 9mm or above, with 380 and below, Hollow points are a detriment as even the best 380 hollow points just barely make 12 inches of penetration. Usually it's even less because all the people that test ammo online use shitty ass clear gel and that shit is less dense than real gel so hollow points don't open as much or as well and everything penetrates more so it's hard to really tell what they will do, but they will probably underpenetrate.
What are the best places to buy ammo? I usually buy from SG ammo because they have free shipping, but I don't know if they have the best prices because I don't know all that many places to buy ammo and which sites are scam sites.
>>64406609You can use ammo seek but generally cheaper prices than SGammo (real price) don’t last long. Velocity Ammo Sales sometimes gets good deals versus SGammo but they don’t last long
>>64406609A lot of the sites you find at the top on ammoseek rape you when it comes to shipping costs. I like SG Ammo, Bone Frog gun club and Bucking Horse Outpost.
>>6440597830 super carry is kept alive by mexico
I got a few cut up guns from confiscations. Thoughts on this Beretta slide and barrel?
I'll ask this in the next thread since this one will probably die before I see any reply. But: Since my tastes in guns is 99% determined by their design in GFL, should I buy an M&P9? Pic rel
>>64406696F tier The GFL pistol designs are fucking ass. Not a single good one.
Is the updated 43X only available in that ugly brown?
>>64406649it looks like it is super rough on the initial milling, ignoring whatever happened to the engraving. are you sure that isn't a taurus copy?
>>64406758Wrong!!!!
Anime off of /a/ and /v/ should be bannable.
>>64406791
>>64406784Taurus did frame safety since that’s what the original beretta 92 had, and the tooling they had was for, they never did slide safety
>>64406791agreed
>>64406802Patriot
>>64406806but it looks rough right? did it rust and someone try to electrolyze it?
>>64406791Yes, this is a frog website.
>>64406866It looks like an gold material inlay that was coming out
>>64406758Stop being gay>>64406802Based Sagsuki enjoyer
>>64406890im probably wrong but it looks rough as hell and not just the inlay. maybe it's the lighting. or the finish is all gone and it is bare metal. facinating either way I wonder what the bore looks like
>>64406891Too flat. All the pistols are too small or slender
>>64406872The reddit frog is a hideous French construct with nigger lips that nobody cared about until 2011
>>64406916Good, as they should be
>>64406926Almost bought a Tok because of her desu. So far, GFL has made me buy:>FN 5.7>PX4>P22Only in terms of handguns. I also bought a Jericho before but sold it. Now I'm considering a M&P as I said earlier
>>64406926I like big bullets and big everything else.
>>64406696>tastes in guns is 99% determined by their design in GFL
>>64406918We took it and ran with it. The frog is now forever 4chan.
Do any of yall buy ammo from Lucky Gunner?
Other than 9mm or rimfire, what handgun cartridge has the most bang for buck without reloading? I would think mousegun rounds like 32acp or 25acp would be up there, but for some reason they are always at least as expensive as 38 special.
>>64406784It's Beretta. Slide safety. They left the pb.msrkongs on other side.>>64406890Yeah gold inlay coming out. Might have even been gold glitter. I need to look closer. Looked to be chrome before from all the other parts I have being chromed.>>64406898Bore is bright and new though.Looks like some meth head or Mexican cartels fevered dream. I only got it for the chromed small parts. The slide and barrel are bonus for the lulz of having a confiscation and how ridiculous it is. Rough as shit. Home job. Guessing dudes name is/was BOT
>>64407070They charge shipping, so no.
>>64407087Somebody make new thread and I'll post more photos of how ridiculous this thing is
>>6440708040 or 380
>>64407070As much as I love those ballistic reports, it’s over priced. I can’t support it.
>>64407080The bullets is what costs reloaders, so weird small calibers don’t have that much savings as popular size bullets
>>64407022
>>64406916Flat is justice, easy to carry
>>64407123If you can afford to gunsoom then you can also afford ammunition but cretins like you don't shoot so your ware stays pristine. You treat firearms like Funko Pops which are every bit Chinese as that gacha slop>>64407045Pepé is just a derivative of foul bachelor frog if you really think about it.
>>64407199True
>>64407093L
>>64407224You're assuming an awful lot about me
>>64407254His assumptions are correct.
Complaining about anime should be a instant 30 day banTourists need to know their place
>>64406609Like anons said SGAmmo and Bucking Horse Outpost are good one stop shops that typically have good but not great prices and both have low flat free shipping thresholds of $200. I also like AEAmmo, GMan Sport and Ammunition Depot who has "range bundles" that frequently are a good deal. You can usually shave $20 off a case if you buy elsewhere using ammoseek but at the cost of more time bargain hunting and not knowing if a vendor is legit also I fucking hate anime
>>64407292You hate anime but fit the stereotype more than me, fat boy
>>64406609I buy from the top of ammoseek filtered by new, brass, conditional free shipping.
>>64407292What about 3D Burt There would be less anime if you posted more soda and fastfood in these threads
>>64407292>also I fucking hate animeBased as usual

>>64407323Fair enough, you make a good point there. Also I need to get to triage x, I even have the damn blu ray

>>64407391Yeah they can afford them, problem? Whatcha gonna do? Keep typing like a woman trying to shame me?
I’m. A. Man.I use beard oils. I drive a truck. I use dude wipes. I carry a Glock 19 and go to tactical shooting courses.
>>64407400>beard oilsWaste of money, just get a brushn use the pomade for your hair, if you got any
S&W should make this with the 3" comped barrel the Model 19 carry comp uses.
>>64407419The gap between chamber and bore functions like a brake already
>>644074194" would be nice too, scandium shroud like 329PD
>>64407419I still find it hilarious how they have to put that little piece of sheet metal above the forcing cone because "muh expensive ass scandium" is too weak to stand up to magnum flame cutting. Couldn't they give it the same finish as the frame so it is less noticeable?
