Accidental discharges were a totally normal part of gun ownership until this century. Just look at these letter excerpts from a British gentleman in the 1920s:
> >You’re acting as though I’ve loosed rounds into the Foreign Office. (Once, mind you, and that was ricochet.) The way you carry on, one would think a negligent discharge were some moral failing—rather than the perfectly natural, practically inevitable hiccup that comes with honest engagement in the fine traditions of gentlemanly armsmanship.
>Frankly, I consider them a rite of passage. Not ideal, no, but inevitable in the long run—like a fencing nick, or one’s first regrettable entanglement with a cousin.

>If I may jog your memory:
>1. University rooms - Acquired a Webley Bulldog from a fellow reading Law—quaint snub-nose thing, more bark than bite. I’d had two gins, possibly three. In demonstrating proper thumb placement for a gentleman’s pocket revolver, the hammer slipped. Round went directly into the ceiling rose. Mercifully, the upstairs tenants were opium enthusiasts and either didn’t notice or assumed it was thunder. I apologised with a bottle of Chartreuse.

>2. The Commons Incident - Took young Fawcett out to the fields—never handled a revolver, poor lamb. I assumed the cylinder was empty. Attempted to demonstrate safe trigger pressure. The hammer fell. A .38 round kicked up dust between his boots. He now attends Quaker meetings and flinches at lawnmowers.

>3. My Parents’ Estate - Was attempting a bit of mechanical experimentation on a surplus Lancaster pistol. Acquired it from a retired inspector who swore it “always needed a firm hand.” While fiddling with the barrel housing (sans manual), I forgot a round was chambered. Result: one shattered Regency mirror, Mother in tears, and Father convinced I was attempting a very melodramatic suicide.
>>

>>
>>64656667

>>
>>64656705
The letter goes on:
>4. Crown Street Drawing Room (First Shot) - A friend brought round a 12-bore hammerless—curious old thing, very pre-Boer War. I admired the engraving, shut it with a touch of panache… and boom. Right barrel went off.Rug caught it. Servants assumed someone had opened champagne. I saw no reason to disabuse them.

>5. Crown Street (Encore Performance)- Same shotgun, same rug, precisely one week later. I was demonstrating how it broke open. Apparently had chambered a round absentmindedly. Bang—exact same spot. At this point the rug smells faintly of cordite and tradition.
>6. The Martini-Henry Affair- Someone at the office left the thing by the radiator. I was curious about the lever mechanism. Opened, inspected, and, well—upon closing, the bolt slammed forward with more gusto than expected. Round discharged clean through the grandfather clock. Nearly clipped a fleeing suspect, who promptly surrendered out of sheer alarm. So technically, a success.

>7. The Bergmann Incident - Friend brought over a Bergmann MP18, German surplus. I hadn’t realised it fired from an open bolt. Slotted in the magazine, let the bolt fly—and three rounds went straight into the parlour wainscoting. Startled the cat so badly she hasn’t come down from the curtain rod since.
>8. The Revolver Reassurance - At this point, I began to suspect the flat was cursed. I fetched my service revolver, cleared it three times— cylinder empty (or so I thought). Pointed it at the same poor rug, for scientific purposes. Pulled the trigger. It fired. Again.
> Now, I say all this not in boast but as a kind of… informal case study. Statistically speaking, I’ve handled a wide variety of firearms under various degrees of sobriety, distraction, and inherited eccentricity. No one has died, thank God. Except, possibly, the cat’s dignity. And the grandfather clock.

Better at what? Lucas' accolades are Kydex holsters, the T.Rex "lifestyle brand" and LARPer8ing for the Gram on the company account– all of which he threw away because his brothers didn't want to give his "liberated" wife a seat at the board in a "part time position" that she made up for herself and because some [ex] employee fat fingered some gfur to her by mistake which she interpreted as "workplace sexual harassment" in spite of her not actually being employed at T.Rex Arms

From memory, he hosted or instructed shooting classes attended by local law enforcement but I don't think it was officially sanctioned by their department[s]– might have just been on their time and dime but with a LE discount

Can you post the context next time?
>Canton, Ohio — Canton, Ohio — On December 18, 2025, Walmart store employees contacted Canton Police after detaining two people suspected of shoplifting and brought them into the store’s loss prevention office to wait for officers. A Canton police officer arrived and began the standard process of identifying the suspects and checking for weapons. At that point, the situation appeared calm, with no immediate signs that the encounter would turn violent. Several minutes into the detention, the male suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Shane C. L. Newman, suddenly reached into his clothing and produced a handgun while seated in the office. He pointed the weapon at the officer and attempted to fire, but the gun did not discharge. The officer and a Walmart loss prevention employee immediately rushed Newman, wrestling him to the ground and securing him in handcuffs. No one was injured during the struggle.

>Police later said the firearm was loaded, and additional suspected narcotics were recovered after the arrest, turning what began as a shoplifting investigation into a major violent felony case handled by the Canton Police Department. Newman, now faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, after officers recovered both the firearm and suspected narcotics following his arrest. Investigators say Newman was legally prohibited from possessing a weapon due to prior convictions.

Hi guys, my middle of nowhere bumfuck third world shithole country has started producing handguns, amazingly enough. I'm in need of an inexpensive firearm, but everything here costs 3 average months salary (still, I'm saving).
Anyways, this gun here is the cheapest 9mm one can get brand new.
I doubt my braindead 80iq countrymen could come up with an original design, so my question to you guys is: what is this a copy of?
It's called the Borr Humaita by the way.
That aside, I just might go with a Canik.Only thing that won't completely ruin me. Unfortuantely I can't even get a properly priced revolver or anything made by Taurus and/or Bersa (made by neighboring countries).
>>
>>64658784
In case price really matters that much, Canik is actually pretty good. That BORЯ thing, however, looks like a glock clone, which is not the worst thing that can happen also.
>>
File: borя extractor.jpg (112 KB, 1080x1080)
112 KB
112 KB JPG
>>64658784
Ok that definitely looks like a glock 17 gen 4. They even copied the MOS plate pattern. However, the extractor is completely different, I would not count on parts compatibility.
>>
>>64658784
Take down lever, mag release and pin positions screams a derivative of a Glock
>>
>>64658800
So I heard, but the Caniks are not cheap either, and they are competing with the odd israeli gun that appears every now and then on the market (think the Emtar Ramon or the IWI Masada).
The BORR is substantially cheaper. Not cheap enough to just jump into it but it isn't as eye watering expensive as the other guns).
>>64658817
>>64658905
Probably not compatible with glock stuff, but I just want to count on at least a proven design. They probably changed just enough to not get sued by glock, correct?
>>
>>64658655
I fucking love my 43x. I didn't even bother going MOS or having the slide cut, I just run the stock plastic sights and practice point shooting with it every range day. I also shoot well with it at distance with slow fire but I mainly just focus on point shooting doubles and triples at closer range. Light, simple, reliable, just big enough for my hands to grip and keep a magdump inside the 8 ring at 15yd but small enough to be comfortable all day. I don't even hate the stock trigger shoe.
>>
>>64658913
Likely, but the changes and manufacturing quality still count. Just because they copied a proven design doesn't mean it's good.
