I can pick up an Atlantic bfpu PM md65 build for $800 w/ 2x chink flat backs and 3x yugo bho mags for $800. All matching except for the reverse dong which is numbered to a different gun. Minimal barrel component cant and all rivets look good. Okay deal, right?

I want to get into AKs but I'm torn on the ammo choices. I like the idea of 7.62x39 because it's big and bold and significantly different from 5.56x45 which I usually shoot. Is it still viable in currentyear or does 7.62x39 belong in a museum?

theyre nothing special, just can't get em anymore. the real sauce is the prototype mags like https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1136910107 or the translucent plastic mags. years back one anon paid $800 for one of the old french stamped fleur de lis mags.
