I saw the TFB torture test for the Maverick 88, the accessories all seemed to fail, the gun kept running, one shot every 9 seconds.

I figured the failure of purpose built accessories and the fact I spent $200 on this scattergun I might as well set it up as a poverty build with readily available things, like the kind of stuff a person of Walmart would have access to. The sling is literally off of a camera.

I did the exact opposite recently. Made a straight-pull 12 gauge shotgun by combining the receiver from a semi and the barrel from a pump, left out the gas system. Built it from a pile of spare parts, my first time doing this. Pretty happy with it.

Depends on the state, some states treat black powder stuff as a firearm. Here in Georgia it falls into a legal area where federally they are not firearms but according to state law they are, so felons cannot own them, but there conversely is nothing stopping an individual with a record from having one mailed to their home from a place like Midway.

That said, a felon with a percussion pistol is probably an honest felon, as a lot of repeat offenders will just get a straw purchased or stolen firearm. Apparently ATL is one of the centers of firearms theft in the US, with the parking lots of the airport, Georgia Aquarium(x rays at the door) and other gun free zones being the likely reasons. A lot of those gun free zones are really not enforced and it’s not like I am going to leave my pistol in my vehicle to go get groceries at sprouts or get coffee at Cafe Intermezzo.
