Guess I committed a rookie mistake by driving 4 hours each way to a physical brick&mortar store that I'd never visited before because. In my defense, I desperately wanted to finger-fuck their inventory of exotic goods.
On the plus side, I did get to fondle some very fancy Gucci-brand ARs, and a bunch of different weird police/mil-spec Euroshit shit that's unobtainable in the US, all of which were 4 times more expensive than my trusty antique milsurp relic of an M16.
I wasn't very impressed with any of them.

I'll happily stick to my trusty old 1960s relic of a rifle, odds are pretty high that the old girl has already proven her worth and seen some serious action.

I think the whol point of an rh25 is the compact form factor aside from the 4-in-1 capability.
I'd try to find an RH25v1 640 on sale if you can. I feel like I saw them for $3500 at one point but maybe tariffs rekt that

This, if something happens with my current gf im going back to being single and i will be completely fine with it. I get it, i had serious fomo when all my buddies were getting into long term relationships and i felt pretty isolated nobody wanted to kick it as much. Luckily my prayers to st jude were answered and i am in a great relationship but chasing women, modern dating apps, all the bullshit, wasted time and money fucking sucks and there is nothing wrong with being alone and being able to do what you want when you want however you want.

Unfortunately that rarely happens but it has before

Thats the mark of the humble innovator
Able to push the meta forward while recognizing his own shortcomings and adapting around them
We should all aspire to be more like ShoeNice as he is morally superior to everyone in this general and even arguably on this website

If you only plan to use it for target shooting in the day then no.

>Using Klarna / Zip / Etc over a normal credit card
Ishygddt
I hear about this to much on here for it to be a meme
You guys do know that Pay In 4 Buy Now Pay Later services dont report to credit bureaus except for negative things right?

If you have the history and spend with a BNPL to be able to finance a couple thousand dollar piece of equipment from them you would have been ridiculously better off building credit with a actual credit card

Most BNPL start you off with a $200 to $500 limit so getting bumped up to thousands means you wasted ungodly amounts of money pumping purchases through them when you could have been building credit and getting cashback the whole time with a real card
If you were approved for a higher limit off the bat thats almost even worse because you likely would be approved for a decent limit with a actual credit card

People not caring about there finances makes me so upset

consider covering the windlass clip with the time strap on any exposed CATs. Most people argue that in order to properly stage a TQ the clip should be uncovered, which is normally true, but if the TQ is exposed it's recommended to cover it to prevent it being snagged. Seen a lot of CATs get lost or the retaining clips get snapped (which makes them useless) and it's always during mundane shit like offloading C-17s and bumping into guys or getting shit out of trucks in a hurry.

You can fold the time strap into a tiny pull tab to help get it open if you're worried about that.

>>
>>64724931
Only thing I don't like about rearden is they overbore their muzzle devices in order to allow 9mm fags to use them which leaves you with a flash hider that doesn't work if you ever shoot with out the can. The 3 prong is particularly flashy while the A2 style one is just ok. The forward controls plan b flash hiders work great.

Fully agree this needs a solution. I've played with running the clip towards the body but dislike the hi-vis red tab facing the world (non issue on the SOFFT). Also tried to fold the time strap into a tiny pull tab, but it didn't seem like it would really protect from snagging. I'm trying a duct tape pull tab. Easily pops the strap free every time, we'll see how many reps on my training tq before it fails

You can give this a shot, and mess with the size of the loop if you find you prefer to have it so you can jam a finger in there. When I practice, I find it easiest to just use my thumb and forefinger and sorta roll it off, I land on the windlass and I'm ready to start tightening. Consider the fact that the TQ is already on your extremity at that point, so no real issues with only having one hand to apply.

I will note that I only do this if I have an exposed CAT, and I've really moved to pouches where I can just because they do get roughed up pretty well. Primary reasons for staging it are obviously reduced snag/breakage, and keeps the environment out of the hook velcro as much as possible. FWIW, I didn't come up with this, I picked it up from a Batt PA.

You might hate it and come up with a better way; just a consideration worth trying if it works for you and you stick with your current TQ setup.

>>64725110

Active retention is actually less about maintaining the suppressor mounting integrity during firing, and is for ensuring the suppressor is well mounted throughout admin tasks, movements, etc.
My issue with the "wrist snap" is precisely that, you have to "nail" a certain amount of human applied force, not too little or it comes off, but not too much otherwise it will lock on. I've seen plenty of people with Rearden/PlanB struggle with both sides of the spectrum, and there isn't a mechanical nor quantifiable stop/target to get it "just right". That goldilocks nonsense, not to mention missing active retention, is part of why I don't like ANY of the simple taper+thread setups like SRX, Xeno, PlanB/Atlas etc etc.

YHM Kurz Ti is at most 1.0oz heavier than an Atlas/PlanB/SRX/Xeno setup. It is the same cost if not cheaper, and is at most 0.5" longer.
Spins on in 2.5 turns vs like idk, 5-8?

>>64725110
Nice spread. Good taste. I would swap the LPVO on the AR10 to a MPVO with a top dot and ditch the irons. I would also swap the MRO on the 1301 to something else, ACRO, 509T etc. How is the Aimpoint Duty under nods? Also I would get an FRT setup in that GHM9. That would rip.
>try my Sierra 5
Send it. If it dies, it dies. Sunk cost.

the coarse threading of YHM mounts is the reason so many come loose. YHM is a terrible implementation of suppressor mounting.

This is a hideously overblown straw man. Suppressor coming off during movement because it doesn't have a lock? And achieving proper torque is not difficult, you have to do virtually the same thing before setting active retention in most active retention cans anyway. Lot of warnings and instances of cans not being tightened enough and getting blown off the front end because of user error.
>>
>>64725458
>achieving proper torque is not difficult
>Lot of warnings and instances of cans not being tightened enough and getting blown off the front end because of user error.

>something is not a problem

>>
>>64725458
and to be clear I'm talking about active retention cans being sent down range because of user error, though it applies to any. Just because there is a feature on equipment does not make it immune to failure due to users improperly installing it. Train with your equipment, learn how it works, and the random suppressor stealing boogie man will not come for you. It doesn't take an engineering degree to mate up some tapers properly.

I like that this method requires no modification bro. Unfortunately the exposed TQs on my kit that need this seem to have a velcro tab like 2.5cm shorter than yours, hence the lack of sufficient engagement. I must have old NAR stock or just a short batch. Offbrand training TQ I have ('recon medical' iirc) has a longer tab and it does work really well with your method. The minutia of my TQ application involves grabbing the trapped portion of the windlass after moving from tightening the velcro strap near my armpit or groin. Can reliably hit that pull tab otw up/out to the windless

>ensuring suppressor is well mounted throughout admin tasks, movements, etc.
Hmm the integrity during firing seems like the more compelling argument to me. I've spent a lot of time in the field with the issued OSS and later hux cans that have no active retention, that was never an issue that became apparent. But I don't know, can only go with my own experience there.

>>64725500
NTA, but don't the tapers seal off the carbon from getting onto those surfaces? I suppose if you shoot unsuppressed and bang it around could be a problem though.
>>
One day, when my Kabbalah teacher, Eitan Yardeni, asked how I was doing, I told him I needed a break. I was thoroughly exhausted, overwhelmed, and overworked. Eitan then said, "Do you know what you should do now?" I thought he was going to encourage me to take some time off. But instead he replied, "No, go work harder! Be careful what you ask for because you may get it." Eitan was right. If I ask for a break, God may hear me and I may get one-a long one. I took this advice to heart and started to work even harder.

>>64725445
>so many come loose
I've never had any come loose, probably close to 20k rounds through various combinations of YHM Kurz Ti mounts and muzzle devices. I've also not heard of some huge corpus of reports of them coming loose. They also have active retention, so they're not going to like spin off completely, at worse they back off a tiny bit, but not enough to allow for the wobble necessary to cause a baffle strike except on the most tightly bored application.

>>64725458
>overblown strawman
The correct way to analyze this IMO is to place less emphasis on the relative risk rate, and pay more attention to the actual condition of the failure. If your can does back off and you baffle strike it or blow it off, you're now in a situation where either your POI is totally fucked (akin to an optic losing zero, and we treat they very seriously), or you take the can off and you're now shooting unsuppressed (a big drop in capability).
These are both serious failures of equipment. I'm arguing that with something like the YHM Kurz Ti, or even some other active retention system of your choosing, you're adding next to no cost ($50-$100 at most per application), very little weight and length considering (0.5"-1.0" and 1-2oz) for a very important type of insurance, once again, given the failure condition.

I vote in every election, I try to participate in civic affairs beyond that, I consider voting the bare minimum.

If I ever accidentally vote for a pedophile I would recant any support I pledged to that person, publicly share deep regret, and do anything I could do dissuade further corruption. It's simple to me. There really aren't that many out and proud pedophiles in office, you cannot compromise on moral principles because all culture, economics, and everything is about who and what we are as humans, as living creatures, flows from our view of the world.

It's really not hard to understand imo. It's almost difficult for me to find a simpler way to word it, but I would never ever EVER abandon my moral principles and the kind of world I want to live in because of any policy a candidate could have.

However if a candidate specifically ran on Give-BB-a-Trillion Dollars, I would not murder them outright until after they won only if they were likely to win. After the money is transferred I would absolutely use all those funds to destroy them and everyone that supported them like it was a naughty list. No less though. And yeah I would absolutely destroy them once the power was in my hand to prevent weirdos like that from ever being near any kind of power again.

I am being reductive btw. There are many specificities and technicalities.

Contrivances the show is how it really feels sometimes but I do like it. It's a minmax show in the sense that parts I like I really like and parts I don't like I really don't like and thus I would call it average but not for the assumed reasons of mediocrity, it is quite good. I still think the first few minutes of the pilot showing it get to patient zero from outer space was probably so far the best part so to me, quality and pacing wise, not as good as it could be

I thought Vince just produced it
>>
>>64727683
Why? The most expensive parts are barrels, rails, and optics. You can buy a part at a time over months, usually like $100-$300 a month, and assemble your gun over a year or so, then end up with something pretty nice. You don't have to be rich, you just have to plan your build, get it to the point that it's useful with irons, then save up for whichever optic.

You're putting it on an Mlok rail?
I strongly advise the Surefire M340 Pro Pivot body.
https://www.tacswap.com/post/68c9d5cc38ec7ec361592db5

You can offload the clicky tail cap and head for $125 easily, so then you're at like $150 or so for the body and pivot mount bits. Gascap USB-C and Modbutton Lite USB C maybe $150, then a PLHV2 head for $150-$200, so all in $450-$500 which is about right. Or use the head and clicky cap to build out a random handheld admin light for the car.

Unironically you could also roll the dice by trying to utilize this chink airshit clone M340 Pro pivot body and the mounts, but use a legit Modlite Multi Mode PLH V2 head and Unity Gascap USB C and Modbutton lite USB C pressure pad.

Spec precision also has, the far right option I think is what you would want to try.
https://www.specprecision.com/tactical-flashlights/m340dft-pro-mini-scout-light-pro.html#/m340dft_color-fde_floodlight_mlok_adapter

$70, comes with all the bits. The goal is just to use the light body itself with a legit head and tail cap. The chink head and tailcap you could combine with this chink body (after cutting off the Mlok mount and hitting it on a belt sander) for a probably decently performing random handheld admin light for the car or toolbox or to give to a kid.
>>
>>64726830
The mounting options are nice, I used to have it on a regular non flip-to-side mount, but since getting the flip to side one it pretty much lives on there. Ability to switch between thermal or regular scope view without removing anything from the gun is my favorite part. As far as thermals go the RH25 is a low power setup, it has a wide FOV but lower on detail at magnification, good for 1x or 2X LPVO use, not great with an ACOG. Sensitive enough to see bullet holes or during a sunny day, black ink on paper at 50 yards though.

Saves weight, cost, and fits tighter to the gun, reducing snag. That being said I'm not 100% positive that real tail caps and light heads will work on that chink body, but it would be a pretty bad knockoff if the thread spec wasn't the same.
