Sp101 or gp100 for my first wheel gun? I'd like to be able to just pocket carry which is why was leaning toward the sp101 but the big fuck off look of a gp 100 is pretty tempting.
>>64747234The SP is just a little too big for pocket carry for most, I'd prioritize a LCR or 442 in that case. For high round counts at the range and OWB in the field, you can't beat the GP
>>64747265Nah, I pocket carry my DAO SP101. It's in my pocket right now. Just get a decent pocket holster and you're good. I like my Alabama Holster Ambi Pocket. SP101 is a great do it all revolver. Small enough to easily conceal and heavy enough to enjoy shooting at the range. That being said, GP100 is a really nice range gun. I wouldn't bother even trying to conceal carry it though.
>>64747234Funny seeing someone else ask the same question I did the last thread. I'm quite happy with the Security Six I found just need to get a holster and some speed loaders. Not a whole lot of options of IWB carry but whatever.
My dad handed off his collection to me a few months back, and I added it to my own. This is just the wheelguns. The Italian black powders haven't been fired in like 30 years. The Colt Navy clone is jammed. The Remington clone is functional but has 5 old loaded balls. Best way to get them back in order? Soak them in oil and drill and yank out the old shots? I really don't want to go in from the cap end. Honestly, a cartridge conversion would be my happy place. Also, probably need to get handloading the Mk VI Webleys. He never used anything but standard .45 ACP when I was a kid, and it worked great except he blew a barrel about 10 years ago. My really nice one is in the holster. I haven't used new ammo on it, but she is shaved just like his old one. Also need new grips on the old .38 Special police revolver. Replacements? Wood? Resin repair? What do you guys think would work best? Also got another couple .32 shorts I need to repair that are near identical to the Iver Johnson and the HR in the top shelf. Grips are the main problem, other than the nickel coating shedding. Mechanically, they seem to be solid.Just looking to get all the old girls running again. Things were so much simpler with my old IJ .22 and my Rhino.
>>64747453Cool collection. The make special rods with a screw point on the end for pulling balls out of muzzleloaders. That would probably work. Or just unscrew the nipples, empty powder, and tap the balls out with a rod.
