Yeah. This rivet here is way undersized, you can see its the same size as the 5mm axis pin. This head in particular is only marginally bigger than the shaft (~4mm) A properly expanded head should nearly double the shank diameter. Just look at its size compared to the other rivet
>>
>>64885061
What happens if the rivets are undersized like that? Does it compromise the integrity of the reciver or just the trunnion?

There is greater risk of the the rivet becoming loose because there is less "head" keeping it clamped in place. Once a rivet becomes loose its liable to shear off and/or stretch out your receiver as it bounces around the hole under recoil. I also seriously doubt that any of those holes have been dimpled. Pic rel shows what happens when you stick a regular rivet into a dimpled hole. Something similar happens when the head is undersized

>WBP
Always seemed expensive for what you got, at least PSA guns will last way past 10’000 rounds even if they’re cheap ass nitrite barrels wear out. One of the things that bothered me about WBP was them saying “the service life of the rifle is 5000 rounds” an AK should WAY outlast the barrel life and Micah Mayfield‘s video showed his still running after 13,000 rounds. One of the reasons I bought it over a WBP and rielly defense’s AK74s.
Here’s my hooptie rifle. I buy PSA stripped guns and put the furniture and triggers in myself, it’s about $200 bucks cheaper than buying a fully assembled rifle. Used parts from AoA for the dust cover, trigger and selector, (required a little bit of hand fitting but what guns don’t?)
Anyway yeah here’s my poorfag 74.

I like it pretty good, occasionally it will stove pipe once in a blue moon, but only when shooting 7N6. My guess is because PSA under gases them from the factory so they shoot better. They probably used 60 grain wolf as the test ammo during R&D. Soviet era ammo definitely less consistent than modern ammo, part of the reason OG AKs are so heavily over gassed, allowed for more deviation in powder consistency/weight.
That actually makes me think, our overgassed guns a thing of the past? Sure having a non-adjustable gas block is cheaper and makes sense for a mass produced rifle and on a combat gun you’re generally going over gas to be on the safe side. But with as good as modern ammo is in terms of QC and consistency is it still necessary to have AK levels of gassing, especially with suppressors? Also ask this question because the VDV have complained that their new AK-12Ks with suppressors are way overgassed and it causes reliability issues at higher uncleaned round count.
Anyway plum is a definite vibe though.

>run the fuck outta it
Bhahah good fucking luck. I bought one of the 102 builders kits. It made it 1200rnds before it started having some serious fucking issue that would deadline the gun and require disassembly of the bolt in order to remediate, after which it would only fire 10-15 rounds before the issue cropped up again. Pieces of shit toys. You ain't gonna run shit. Pretty well documented but something wears or shifts, headspace maybe getting fucked, and it starts blowing bits of primer into the firing pin channel which then seizes up the firing pin until you disassemble it, but then it just happens again. Well documented issue with the 5.56 PSA shit AKs. Sent it back to PSA... and you know what they did? They took like 70 fucking days because they re-barreled and redid the headspace by going through a box of random bolts and trying until they got one that passed. Absolute insanity.

PSA is shit. WBP is shit. ISD is shit, Nova Modul is shit. IO Inch is shit. Riley is shit. Pioneer is shit.

Zastava and WASR/ROMARM Cugir are acceptable.

Century didn't end the deal with ROMARM, it was a contract negotiation issue on price per unit that was resolved like a year and a half ago. They're still being imported last I knew, and I can't find anything saying that they aren't being imported anymore.
You can even check their import documents, they last had ROMARM imports in December 2025. For reference to compare, their last import from Nova Modul (company that makes the 9mm "AK"s like the WASR-M and Draco 9S) was November 2024, and their most recent import of Canik pistols was January 2026.

Stupid? Probably. Some people don't do it because it takes extra effort/tools. PSA didn't with their initial AK runs. The Zastava was dimpled but the rivet was loose so it sheared off

This works for the front trunnion and fixed stock rear trunnions but you still have to make a support block for underfolder/sidefolder rear trunnions because its possible to bend/break the wings off if you don't support the back side. I made a mini jackscrew out of a bolt for mine. The thin metal might bend before the dimpling occurs if you don't use a support

That's not even an excuse because I did it with a harbor freight drill. He's gotta be doing things with a vice or an air hammer because my dumbass is doing things better with chink tools. Wrong rivets too. Those are supposed to be counter sunk holes and it looks like he's put regular non swell neck dome rivets in there. You can tell because they're below the surface of the rail. Very interesting discoloration happening on the rear trunnion too.

Cope damage control because there ain't a way in hell their nitride barrels and non true forged components are making it 50k... In fact we know from legit military testing that nitride barrels depending on firing schedule will give the ghost up anywhere from 10-30k.

WBP DOES use nitride barrels on some of their guns by their own admission. That point has SOME validity to it, even if Wuggy is using it to move goalposts away from his false claims about cast parts.
The product listings on their own site say the 5.56/5.45 rifles and the 5.56 pistols use nitride barrels, every single one of the models offered. The 7.62x39 rifles and pistol are generally the exception because they use FB Radom produced barrels, which is why they're chrome-lined and the others aren't. The only 7.62x39 rifle that isn't chrome-lined doesn't mention FB Radom in its description as well.
You can check yourself, pic is all of the nitride barrel listings edited together and labelled with the product name so you can cross-reference them. It's on every 5.45 and 5.56 gun, and one single 7.62x39 gun.
